Worth repeating, this is hands down the best tutorial on the Beretta. I ordered the kit a couple years ago and it went in exactly as advertised.

The trigger on my new 92X was really "chewy" or "sticky" in the final 10% of trigger pull when the hammer is down. I took it apart and noticed that the small channel that is milled into the bottom of the hammer that houses the hammer spring strut had not been deburred after milling. It was causing the spring strut to grind against the hammer as the hammer works it's way back. Chamfering off those sharp edges inside of the slot did more to aid the trigger than polishing the sear surfaces did in fact. Might be a helpful tip for others reading this or wanting to do their own trigger job.

Thank you! Thank you, thank you.....! After just purchasing a new m9 I didn’t t really pay attention to the trigger pull. Once I got it out and started working with it I noticed it had a horrendous trigger pull. Especially compared to my M9A3.. so I watched a few videos and came across yours and was instantly sold. I talked to a gunsmith who said they could do it for me but $$$ always gets in the way. After,a,bit I gave in and ordered your basic spring kit. Long story short I just got through installing the 13 pound hammer spring the recoil spring and the trigger return spring all by my self. I’m not the best of home smiths but thanks to your excellent instructions on this video I was able to do it myself. Wow! What a difference it made! I don’t have a scale or anything to measure but the difference was very obvious and so much better! Thanks again, from a new customer!

How are you able to tell the tension difference before even putting the trigger bar back on? Before you do that, the spring is just along for the ride until you wrap it over that trigger bar’s pin. Btw for those having trouble putting the trigger spring back over the trigger bar: Don’t use a screw driver and scratch up your gun, even if it’s the insides. instead, take a small paper clip with some long nose pliers to make a tiny “hook” out of the end of the paper clip. Use this to pull up the trigger spring with ease.

Alright so I have been shopping around or browsing around rather for a good tune-up kit for my 92fs that I purchased used. It was made back in 1993 so as you can imagine... She needs a bit of a tune-up. I've decided to go with MCARBO exclusively when it comes to my 92fs. I've always been a Wilson Combat guy I mean I've tuned up many 1911's using their products and I've got no complaints. But... I'm going to try MCARBO now. Excellent video. Rather detailed. So if I have any issues installing certain parts and pieces I will be returning to this video to learn how to do it. I might as well be a gunsmith when it comes to the M1911A1... And I really would like my knowledge of the Beretta 92 series to be to the level that it's at with the M1911A1 pistols. Time will tell. Thanks again for the video. I look forward to feeling and seeing the changes in my 92fs. Stay safe out there, keep carrying and God bless 🙏

I just installed the Wilson Combat Ultra Thin G-10 grips on my 92FS, making it a bit easier to hold. As a female shooter with smaller hands, it's still a bear to grip, but I can feel a difference. I'm going to do the trigger and hammer spring upgrades next. Wilson Combat's hammer spring is supposed to be the bees knees for the Beretta.

As a single dad with five daughters... I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I was to read what you said. I wish that more women would just get the confidence to go out there and you know after doing some research and figuring out what they like to go out there and purchase one and then learn how to maintenance it completely. And learn how to swap out any pieces in case things break or if they just want to do some custom tuning. I'm also thankful that my oldest two daughters carry everywhere they go. My oldest daughter carries a variant of the m1911 A1. My nineteen-year-old doesn't know it yet... But I'm actually going to be buying her a Beretta 92fs because she loves shooting mine. Currently she's also carrying the m1911 A1 just a basic g i model and she loves it but... Being a woman... I think that a higher-capacity would be an excellent choice. I tried selling the Beretta often I won lots selling literally but the idea rather to my oldest daughter but she's sticking with a 1911 and she's really good with it. Now the Beretta 92 series specifically the 92fs because that's what I know about.. I hear that they are all tacked drivers and I tell you right now the one that I have is. I backup I don't know I would say a maximum of twenty yards because realistically any kind of a shootout is going to happen within 10 yards and typically and this is just a distinctly.. typically you don't fire more than four to six shots. Anyway thanks for reading my rant and it just warms my heart to hear about yet another female that is a gun lover to some degree. Do you shoot recreationally or do you carry your Beretta? I carry my Beretta and sometimes the 1911 hell sometimes I actually carry dual 1911's but anyway I carry owb but the way that I dress keeps them concealed. Boots jeans tucked in t-shirt baseball cap and a button-uplong-sleeve collared dress shirt but I do not talk it in and I do not button it up. It's a size or two too big for me. I like the way I look at it but its purpose is to keep the weapon concealed. I'm using a BlackHawk CQC level two retention holster. Serpa series. I skipped one belt loop on my side that way I can maneuver the firearm almost to the one position and I can push it all the way back to the five position. And the whole retention system is amazing. They are polymer and the button that you have to push to release the weapon will literally put your trigger finger right on top of either the trigger guard or the trigger itself depending on your hand size. And with practice... It's just amazing. And I've tested it by dangling upside down over my bed and just bouncing up and down in the air as hard as I could without dropping it to see if it would come out of the holster and it never does none of them do. I don't know what you carry for a holster or whatever but the BlackHawk CQC serpa level two retention holster is a strong recommendation from me. Stay safe out there, keep carrying and God bless 🙏

Does anyone know if the slide release lever can be installed on the right side (and trigger bar on the left) for easier use left-handed? My guess is no, but figured I’d ask since this would be a good time to do it. I did this with the mag release. It would be nice if I could do it with the slide release too.
@johns1625
@johns1625 11 месяцев назад
You would need a custom frame to do that, or heavily modify the one you have. You would also need a mirrored slide release lever made. There is a tiny spring that sits in a milled slot in the frame that does not exist on the other side.

Not sure why it was necessary to dismantle to this extent... I pulled the slide lock, removed trigger pin, replaced spring directly from the top. No touching grip or trigger reset at all. Did I do something wrong? Took me 5 minutes.
@NortheastSurvival911
@NortheastSurvival911 Год назад
So you're not sure why it was necessary to dismantle it to that extent. And you've mentioned how you did it in 5 minutes. Well that's awesome. It's a good thing to know your weapon that well. But some people don't. Some people have difficulty with anything more than your basic field-strip. And that's where all these videos come into play. I'm not a certified gunsmith but I'll tell you right now... When it comes to the 1911... I am 100% certain that there's nothing I can't do equally as well as a gunsmith. I've got several 1911's and when I started out all I figured out how to do real fast was the basic field stripping cleaning etcetera etcetera. But then I started watching videos about how people were custom tuning a 1911. Because it is a competition gun worldwide in addition to an amazing self-defense weapon. All of my 1911's have some very very nice internal pieces that I ordered and I had to remove material from a lot of that to make it fit properly. all of my 1911 pistols rtac drivers with the accuracy. Very very tight Firearms. A lot of people will say that the 1911 is just a rattly prehistoric while whatever it is they often say that they're not accurate out-of-the-box. And I'm telling you now just like with the Beretta you can change a lot of that. You can literally change everything. Some people just benefit greatly from watching people disassemble firearms. And there's a lot to be learned if people pay attention. And you have to start somewhere. And I don't just mean basic field stripping but if something breaks inside of a gun which you know it happens... And it let's say it's your primary defensive weapon. Well...if it's the only one you have... And you don't have at the very least a firm knowledge and understanding inability to literally swap out every single piece of your firearm I mean seriously.. what are you going to do? You've got to go find the pieces and then figure out how to install them or you have to have somebody else do it. And I'm not big on letting anybody touch any of my firearms. I do the work on all of them. And the RU-vid videos have brought me to my understanding and have helped me along with everything I've learned. I don't know everything about the 92 series. I've had one I don't know about a year now. It's an older 92fs and aside from swapping out the recoil spring I haven't done anything to this weapon yet. But I think it's time. And yes a lot of it is just paying attention to how you take something apart. It's literally the reverse to reassemble but the majority of people out there that are gun owners do not have the confidence nor do they have the basic tools to do any of this stuff. You'd be surprised what I've seen people due to Firearms thinking that they know what they're doing when in fact they don't. Anyway that's my take on your question. Thanks for reading my rant. Stay safe out there, keep carrying and God bless

Yeah I don't understand how he got the numbers down that much with a stock beretta and just a trigger return spring ?? My stock 92fs was 12lbs DA and 5 lbs SA.
@NortheastSurvival911
@NortheastSurvival911 Год назад
I purchased a used Beretta about a year ago. I tested my double-action pull and it came in at approximately 10.75 pounds. So unless he's changed something that he hasn't mentioned in the video then apparently the factory pull is not always 12 or more pounds. Hello buddy of mine purchased a brand new 92fs.. I know a couple years back. And he was testing everything his DA pull from the factory was just over 13 pounds. So it seems as though there's one hell of a gap on the low end of the factory DA trigger pull. I'm actually going to order the stuff in this video and a few other items for my 92fs. I want a custom tune it and turn it into a competition style firearm. I've done that with all of my 1911's. I've replaced everything except the slide and the frame. And there's a lot of custom tuning a lot of parts that had to have some of the material removed. One thing I love about the 1911 that the Beretta does not offer is a barrel bushing. I've noticed that with the slide pulled back on the Beretta if you stick your finger tip on the barrel it moves a little bit. Most pistols do. My 1911's though... No movement whatsoever. The barrel two bushing to slide fit is very very. Tight. My accuracy skyrocketed after I did that. My accuracy with the 92fs is that.. Well let's just say the 92fs in my opinion is a tack driver a right out of the box. I have never fired a more accurate 9mmm that comes with just straight-up factory components. My Beretta is not the Italian import it was made in Maryland. But... You know a lot of my friends they'll be like oh it's not a real Beretta. Oh yes it is. Every gun I have every shotgun rifle and pistol that I own and all the ammo that I purchase is all made right here in the states. Beretta is the only foreign firearm manufacturer that I would even consider supporting. Anyway thanks for reading my rant.
@johns1625
@johns1625 11 месяцев назад
My 92x had a 10.5 pull when I bought it new. It's now about 10 after doing my own trigger job on it. Also, the trigger bar pushes slightly outward when pulling the trigger, so it pushes against the inside of the right hand grip. You can file out a channel on the grip to make room for it so tightening the grips down doesn't restrict the bar so much.

Langdon trigger bar is the closest thing I've found. Good improvement but still tons of travel. The wilson has slightly more travel.
@NortheastSurvival911
@NortheastSurvival911 Год назад
So as this person mentioned the Langdon trigger bar or whatever it's called but I'm also going to recommend swapping out your trigger I mean there's several really good slightly different shapes triggers coming out. And in no way shape or form and I going to get into vivid detail on explaining this but I'm telling you now there are ways to reduce that trigger travel substantially. It's a wee bit of gunsmithing and it's not necessarily easy. Cuz you have to keep in mind that's also a double action trigger. Now the fact that it's a double action trigger eliminates a few options. If you poke around enough doing a Google search or whatever browse you have just search for ways to reduce it be very specific type in something like Beretta 92 series pre-travel reduction. You might have to scroll around for a bit but I'm telling you now you'll figure it out you'll see what I mean.
@johns1625
@johns1625 11 месяцев назад
It's a DA trigger so you can only really remove MAYBE 1/8 inch of pre-travel. There is a lot of travel when the hammer is back though, so I feel your pain. Makes the pistol feel cheap.
