Bought a 680 new over 40 years ago, still got it, used for game and clays, faultless. We reckon over 100k shells, still tight in the action. The DT 10 I had was a bit special too, gone but not forgotten. Beretta, boringly brilliant.
Thanks for making these vids guys! Just starting out in the clay shooting world and this helped me massively to choose my first sporting! :-) Keep up the great work...
The Gun Shop I am a upland hunter that has used a semi out my whole life. I want an over under that I can use to shoot trap as well as in the field. I am in the US. What style of gun would you recommend or that?
Recently bought 2 S/H Beretta's, both mid 1980's , very little use and in great condition. One is a 686 special o/u and the other is a 626E sbs and both 20 bore. Lovely guns and don't think I will be selling them anytime soon.Didn't realise the 686 was re-named the Silver Pigeon in the 1990's. Everyday is a school day.
Same here... have the 690 Sporting, and it shoots absolutely lights out. And you guys are spot on about Beretta's choice of furniture... for a $2700 gun, it is pretty boring. But, it fits me like a glove and I love it. And Great videos, guys... You definitely have a much deeper shotgun "culture" than we do across the pond, and I love getting your opinions & hearing your views. Keep up the great work!
1 to note, Your Views on the SV10 Perennia and prevail range as they were that step in evolution that lead to the 690 range. I’d call it beretta’s version of the lost link. 👍🏻
Just got myself silver pigeon 1 for my second gun !! Had lanber and had it for 21 years and is just starting to loosen up a touch now when open but shut its tight as a drum !! So im getting the pigeon all fitted up to me and i am hoping it will be the last gun i have to buy !! I was considering going another cheaper branded gun but then decided no i want a beretta !!! I love the look of them as well !! Nice without being stupid !!! I love the look of a good older looking gun that just gets the job done without any fuss !! Anyhow thats my thoughts !!
thank you very much for your new answer. I just starting shooting clays in Club and I want to buy my first shotgun and the Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon 1 it's like me, bisades here in Mexico we don't have variety of guns.
Nice video guys. Thank you so much for it. I'd like to ask you regarding 692 and DT 11 barrel. Are they made from the same steel material or they are different? I know that boreings are different, but what about steel alloy (steel type) of the barrel?
Very nice video very informative but it would be nice if u could also mention price range of different models and is there any contact details to get touch with you guys
Great presentation.....Like the green shirts! What brand are those? Look soft and comfy and ideal for outdoor sports but smart at the same time. Where can I get one?
@@tgsoutdoors Is there really a difference between them. Embellishments aside the guns seem identical. From your other video you mentioned actually slightly preferring the handling on a 686 sporting vs a 692?
Like just about everyone else, as you said, I have one, too. But when I go into the field, I reach for one of the SXS's. I'd probably make an exception for a 20 or 28 ga. O/U, but I don't own one. Otherwise they are just too bulky for my taste. The SXS just feels right...more appropriate. You didn't show one but Beretta does still make them, don't they?
I wouldn`t like to drag a 686 through a days walked up,but I have done so with a 687S 20 bore, with ease a pocket full of cartridges weighs nothing as well.
What type of shotgun would you recommend for someone what is going to do a bit of all types of shooting from shooting a few rabbits pigeons and crows then the next day a few clay pigeons
Guys looking for a new quail gun in 20 gauge and between the 686 and 690. I’ve heard the 690 has ejector issues, has this been resolved and should I lean to the 690 over the silver pigeon?
3k for a shotgun... a bit ridiculous I think. im new to this type of firearm. what are you getting with these that you don't get with a shotgun in the 800 dollar range?
Same thing with a £120.000 gun to a £90 gun. Or a rolex to a timex or a Rolls Royce to a Rover, it does exactly the same thing , it's a buckshot gun at the end of the day , it's about how small your dick is and how much you want to compensate it for at the end of the day,. 😊
@@stephenizzy1 when you take clay shooting seriously you'll see why those guns cost a lot. Same if you're hunting and you want a beautiful and quality gun that you can use for the rest of your life and pass on to who comes after you. This is no cheap walmart pump action shotgun. People that own luxury items, whether it's a watch, a gun, or anything else are happy with their purchase. The small dick thing is just an excuse for those that can't afford to spend the money they'd like on things, and it actually shows an obsession towards other mens' genitals which is quite curious ;)
Hi John That was fast , i understand that you might not have a dt11 in your shop but you have shocked the pants off me as i was saving up for the dt11 acs black edition i loved the look of it too. i was hell bent to get one and now your comments on the has made me think , why is nobody buying them ?? they use them on the Olympics , 8k is a lot for a bad gun ? i might get George Digweed gun ???? looking for top, trap , skeet , clay gun any ideas ???
I think you are looking along the right lines. Perazzi would be the perfect gun. For the money you could buy a stunning used gun or get a Custom gun made to your specifications. Worth doing, and you will never regret having the softness that comes with perazzi because the shootabilty is top notch, and made to your own personal balance, size and pattern makes for something truly special.
I've always liked the Beretta shotguns, but as a company I've been losing respect for them. It's my understanding that some of the Sako 85 rifles suffer from ejection problems, and Beretta has been refusing to make the situation right with their customers.
Filmed from a mile away, one cannot see the gun. And what the hell are you talking about? Vertical owned? Turbocharged? How are we supposed to follow what you are talking about when you wave the gun around, opening and closing them, and then laying them down?
686 with a blindfold and you can’t tell the difference against a $5,000 gun. But yup, dull probably because of their middle of the road perfection. Buy one and have a stock made to fit you and you’ll have a $5,000-$8,000 gun for $4,000 at most unless you go crazy with your wood.
I think you hit the really important point....FIT. My belief is that that vast majority of shooters don't even realize that their guns fit them poorly...sometimes very poorly. I see them contort themselves over stocks that are too short and too straight. Before they buy a new gun they should try shouldering something from early in the last century when even non-bespoke guns were provided with stocks that had more drop at heel and comb.
I have a really cheap shoulder and many shotguns fit me very to exceptionally well. Rifles however are a different matter. I prefer a double Monte Carlo in left hand action with a right hand comb so often as not a well fit rifle stock costs as much or more then the rifle. ☹️
Could have been more informative, but the audio sucks and both of you keep interrupting each other. For the love of God invest in a good lapel microphone and take turns talking.
