Yeah I will never forget that also! it was a new quantum rod made by lamiglas I thought it was not that good but after the first cast and catching a big bass I decided to keep the rod! Thanks for watching.
Yeah it was a fun day! the DC reel is fun with the sound but I like fishing with my daiwas better for some reason I just enjoy them over the slx dc. Thanks for watching.
Thank you, If you ever need any help let me know. Hey wait for my video that will be coming I fish with a toy skeleton converted to a lure you definitely wont want to miss this one! LOL!! Thanks for watching and the support.
Looks like the rod performed well in that slop. Like you said, braid spooled on the reel probably would have helped a bit. A lot of stuff to load and unload when kayak fishing, I know 🤣
Very true! It's a hell of a spot to catch bass in due to all the plants and stuff so over grown and bunched up from the bottom right up to the surface. Thanks for watching.
Yay glad you got the kayak out there! Gotta love a first cast topwater eat! I’m thinking about ordering a DC reel so I can actually start using baitcasters more confidently…what’s the biggest difference between the SLX DC and Curado DC in your opinion?
Hi the curado DC people say is a little better but the SLX DC is very good I think you don't need to spend the extra $ on the curado, I like my SLX DC but to be honest I really like fishing with my Daiwa bait casters better they feel really good in hand and just feel better built more solid and smooth. Don't get me wrong the SLX DC is comfortable and really nice also but my daiwas are just more fun to use, they have a braking system that kind of works like the DC system but manually with a coupler that moves in and out as you cast and it makes a magnetic field to slow down the spool and it works like a charm! I have the daiwa tatula ct it's great and is a lot less $ than the SLX DC and I also have the tatula SV 103 that's like the same price as the SLX DC it has a SV spool that helps you toss super light baits better but my tatula CT does good with weightless flukes and worms also. I have a video comparing them Both do a search for tatula on my channel you can see some videos on them. sorry for the book LOL! O also the daiwas have the nice T wing system that lets the line fly out through a big opening in the reel unlike a little hole that the line fly's through on the normal reels.
@@PHFishingBiking oh wow that’s a lot to think about, thanks!! I may have to take a trip to a big store to try out some different ones instead of ordering online like I normally do 😅 I have one Daiwa reel, a big huge BG 5000 I use occasionally for surf fishing, and I love how smooth it is. Just wish I had it in a size I could use more!
@@TheFishingMommy Trust me you will love the slx dc if you just want to be cool on the water with a DC buzzing reel i say go for it!! The daiwas don't whistle but they are super nice see this video I show how the brake works when I take out the spool and stuff. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zXOkW3ZolKc.html
I have to start looking at testing new gear I am still sporting the lady stik in fact I bought the ultralight one last week I now have 2 lady stiks haha
Try out the new lightning rod I bet if you get a med light or a light action one piece and you will love it! way more lighter and sensitive and balanced than those fugly stiks! LOL!! Thanks for watching.
You wouldn’t lose as many fish and the weeds wouldn’t be a issue if you were using braid (no line stretch) and a heavy rod (more back bone = better hook sets)
Hi that is not the problem I use braid also and heaver rods this place under that green slop on the top is solid packed plants growing up from the bottom right to the surface sometimes it's almost impossible for me to even move the Yak across it it gets so bad.
I know a fish that's a pound sometimes with all that crap on it feels like pulling in 4 or more pounds! did you see that big net full of gunk after the fish got off it's crazy! ... but I love it! Thanks for watching bro!
Must have got a faulty one or a rod with a scratch on it, been using both my casting and spinning ones for a long time and none of mine ever broke on me.
