I'd certainly subscribe to enjoy live telecast of the DSO since I am out of the country--love the DSO and feel equally enamored with the brilliant conducting of the Orchestra's new Maestro. Any possibility of having transcriptions available through the internet? I was able to enjoy live presentations of the (stilted) performances of the Merida Symphonic orchestra in the Yucatan...the same possibility would make me a supporter of the DSO and it's on-going seasons of incredible performances.

I am really proud of the upcoming North America premiere of the Enescu Piano Concerto at the DSO this weekend. A truly extraordinary composer, ahead of his time though at the height of his fame in our parents' and grandparents' time, was known for alliances with royals as well as demimondes. 😄A superstar of not that many years ago . Likely played at Orchestra Hall 90-some years ago as a violinist. Whatever press the DSO might get in the UK, Europe , Asia and Canada this season, this remarkable event this weekend will most likely garner the lion share.
Excellent performance. Tempos are correct, not too slow or fast. Playing is great. Would be nice if this was downloaded a bit hotter as far as volume. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it.
That 'FF con fuoco' was hardly that near the end of the 2nd movement. It wasn't very decisive. And why end the movement mf-ish? Looking at the score, it doesn't seem to want to. Oh well.
muslit, Bignamini wanted it to be lighter at the end of the mvmt II since “it was all a dream.” Not sure the mics do the hall justice, or even if we use them all for webcasts. Our last stretch at the end there was pretty loud to me onstage. :)
@@amandablaikie4470 Well, I was just basing my opinion on the way the score looks. There is a big buildup to the end, and to abruptly end it mf seems off to me. The maestro has his opinion as well.
