How multiple time BJJ world champion Bernardo Faria builds a competition gameplan! More info on the guard passing aspect of Bernardo's game here: tinyurl.com/overunderpass
I recognize this out of instinct, because I always do this instinctively. I tend to go for a back waistlock, a short back side slam and then finish with a rear-naked choke from back mount or back side control either by rolling into a backsitting position or by flattening him out and do the choke from there. A lot of times, I'll stick with what I know that works and will only try techniques or game plans I am less familiar or comfortable with if all else fails. This is how the triangle choke backmount story was born.
Love the video... As someone who trains BJJ I say the following with the utmost respect for both the art and those who teach and or train. Bernardos voice sounds like Kermit the Frog with a Brazilian accent.
