Bernese Mountain Dog VS Great Pyrenees - Comparison and Differences 

I do not know if I can agree with Great Pryenees being ranked lower for intelligence because they are harder to train. The whole reason they are harder to train is because they were bred to be on the Pryenees mountains (or other places) to guard sheep and other animals without the owner/farmer being around. So they are not bred to take orders from people but to make decisions in protecting livestock. I feel like they would have to have a high intelligence level to be able to do that. I love my great pyrenees, they are definitely not for everyone. You have to be very patient and train with positive reinforcement. They really are amazing dogs. Both breeds are.

Very strange to see the Pyrenees intelligence being ranked lessor because they are smart enough to disobey. They are rightfully considered very hard to train. I wouldn't recommend them for the average person. They super smart and strong willed.

Great Pyrenees are Live Stock protectors not herding dogs. Extremely intelligent and make excellent family dogs with the benefit of protecting family. They also are empathic to a fault.
