Yes, in 2008. He had Sychadosis (sp) which is a really devastating disease however he never made it known how sick he was or could be. He was hospitalized due to I think pneumonia and passed away within a couple of days. This was right before the movie Soul Men was supposed to be released. RIP Mr. Mac!
The disease is called Sarcoidosis. It's an inflamation of the avioli (air sacs) in the lungs. Venus has it which is why her tennis game suffers despite the treatments. I think Serena has it too but not as severe. If I'm not mistaken, it's hereditary but very rare.
Found this and died laughing all over again!!!!!! The ORIGINAL king of comedy!! I'm sure he making angels laugh in heaven, buying peanuts and stirring coffee!!! The greatest will be/is missed.....RIP Bernie
Man I miss this man and Def Comedy Jam. That was such a genius idea and a blessing to lots of comics to get some serious worldwide exposure. Russel and Mr Latham had a winner, I wish it could’ve lasted longe, but it introduced me to some wonderful comics like the great Bernie Mac. The world is such a darker place without him and his comedy. I just watched Head of State the other day, him playing Chris Rock’s brother that’s running to be the 1st black president was hilarious. I miss those good comics like my favorite of all time Richard Pryor, Bernie Mac, Robin Harris, Ricky Harris and Redd Foxx, so many others gone too soon. When I’m feeling down and disgusted with anything, I watch my favorites and get a bit of laughter. RIP to the greats…..
Bernie Mac was a legendary comedian he knows how to communicate with the audience with his intelligence and energy he had pure talent and definitely one most versatile celebrity
And to think Bill Cosby wanted to prevent HBO from making Def Comedy Jam because he didn’t like this type of comedy. If he’s succeeded, all of the Afro-American comedians that we know today would’ve never been heard of. Just like this legend right here. He left us too soon. #RIPBernieMac
@@elijahlezario9670 I'm guessing you liked your own comment and pretty sure you're projecting your inadequacies towards black people. Tsk tsk tsk why so bitter and vile?
I swear I used to search the magazines by the check out aisle for Bernie Mac’s latest work… and when I saw he died my heart sank and it’s just never been the same.
From "Slavery timeline 1400-1500 A Chronology of slavery, abolition and emancipation in the 15th century" "In SOUTHERN and EASTERN Europe, classical-style slavery remained a normal part of the society, economy and trade across the Mediterranean sea and Atlantic seaboard, which meant that African slaves began appearing in Italy, Spain, south France and Portugal well before 1492"
Bernie Mac loved his family. His wife and daughter was his joy. That joy showed through his GOD given talent he selflessly shared with the world. Very grateful for all the laughs he has given me......
Man, I can imagine what a thrill it would have been to "discover" Bernie in a club, with no idea what his "shtick" was and be blown away by how hilarious, smart, and thoughtful he was. One of the best!
