If you guys can't tell, I'm having the time of my life with Strand in PvE. Adrenaline junkie fast paced gameplay is my SHIT. PvP on the otherhand needs a seperate video lol
As a Titan Main, I played Strand, I picked up the Exotic for it( recently nabbed the Helmet for Stasis as well) and just...agaain, as has already been said over n over. Strand is definetely something, but its not the end all be all.I am enjoying myself more trying to piece meal things for other classes than play strand. I know the nerf hammer is coming( specially once the PvP fanatics complain) and things will change. I still feel the exact same that Titans are nothing but melee monkeys with no identity, because we have no presence in the class design team as no one there PLAYS Titan. Recently learned there is no Titan Main amidst the class design team, meaning not one person there truly plays or understands the titan class to have any reasonable input towards WHY people who play titan are frustrated, unhappy, or generally just bored.
Yeah it's a legitamte problem I hope they address. I hope the outpuring of criticism they've been getting is enough to force them into changes instead of just ignroing it and writing it off as toxicity. It isn't toxicity it's an issue they need to address sooner rather than later. The same way Warlocks randomly got a rework before the 3.0 system, Titan needs the same.
I don't even know why I still play titan. A neglected class full of wasted opportunity. Whenever we get something fun it lasts about a week. Bungie are scared to buff titan ls because the true titan main understand the potential the class holds.
Source? I have always felt that there is strong Hunter and Warlock bias there. Pvp guys love Hunter whereas pVE guys love Warlock. Don’t get me wrong I love the 3.0 changes but man is there some fatigue with strand, the super is soooo boring and the melee is clunky. I do not like Stasis either.
I'm enjoing strand titan, but I swap between strand and solar constantly to be not getting tired of doing one and the same. By the way solar titan slaps this season, infinite explosions are definitely one of the strongest shit ever, and new raid exotic fits it more then great. P.S.: an idea for the titan aspect - "Grapple pull enemies to you instead of usual effect (do not applied on bosses and vehicles). Afterpunch damage increased x2. Imagine to grab a champ and get his face smacked. (Yes, ultrakill idea stolen yet again)
@@PocketTuna like I've been saying for the half of my life: "Hope for the best, be ready for the worst". That's why I never get disappointed) Maybe we will get something next season...but I don't count on that)
My idea would have been like how golden gun is just a last word remodel or a eyasluna remodel depending on which version you pick they could have given titans like a heir apparent remodel and and made it where it’s always on full spin up and gives unraveling rounds. It a rough concept but would have been a good fantasy as the front like soldier.
Oh you missed my favorite part. Lash being the only thing unique that Titans can do but so long as you are on even ground. In the Vexcaliber mission I discovered several places the lashes would get stuck. Meanwhile the threadlings I've watched jump gaps and go up walls to get to their target. So the subclass that was supposed to be all about elevation only applies to Hunters and Warlocks and Titans you just have to watch other classes enjoy a less frustrating ease of use with their classes. Hunters can use their class ability to suspend enemies while moving and airborne meanwhile Titans have to stop moving face a specific direction and before my animation is done the enemies are already suspended from someone else's attack. Why is it that Warlocks got ionic traces initially and Bungie knew exactly how to get them to move across tons of uneven surfaces and even go up walls but Titans get burning mall, Khepri's sting, and now lash that can get blocked by a random pebble on the ground you have no way of seeing during a fight. There are countless things that counter melee builds. Everything in the game is meant to fck melee builds. ACD/Feedback fence should be converted into an aspect just like Mask of the Quiet one was converted into a fragment, because enemies do hit harder than you and no one is playing arc Titan up close and personal like the class is designed to be played as. The subclass Identity crisis doesn't even stop there. Warlocks can activate their phoenix dive and get x2 restoration and be able to tank way more than Titan's ever could hope to Tank in with void now that they nerfed the piss out of bastion and all Warlocks have to do is scorch and enemy and boom their class ability is back in no time. We used to be able to slap down a barricade and use our grenade with Control demolition to be able to tank absurd amounts of damage and needed an exotic to replay that loop over and over and that exotic got nerfed but warlocks can use an incandescent weapon or their melee or their grenade or their super and they replay that loop constantly. No other subclass has a completely worthless aspect now because bungie decided to nerf it into oblivion with no way for us to earn our barricade back faster through some sort of gameplay loop. No other class has to full sacrifice potency for ability uptime. I have to use multiple fragments just to get my abilities back quicker but lose out on potency we used to get as easy as the other classes. If you were going to nerf Bastion that freaking hard at least either give it a buff where we can earn our barricade back sooner or since void breaches give class ability energy give bastion more fragment slots so we can run fragments that create void breaches. The Super is the really frustrating part of the class. It has a ranged attack great but it goes on cool down and has okay tracking. Yet Warlocks get a flaming sword with better tracking and they are allowed to stay in the air the whole time and get increased movement speed on their glide. Hunter's silk strike they get access to their grenades which fully recharges on super activation and has increased CDR and infinite class ability they can spam over and over. Titan, the super doesn't feel super. I said they need to make the melee be able to go through enemies which not only would have been unique for gameplay but would have allowed Titans to hit multiple enemies. Imagine in the super the melee lunge had increased distance or something that helped to make Titans feel super. Lash by itself should have been what Ambient Leap already does with it but allows the lash to linger on the ground for a few seconds. Warlocks can have their super synergize with their exotic and get more damage where as all we get is increased suspend time that doesn't even work with Ambient Leap rn. Seriously, just give me a turret that unravels enemies and watch the add clearing go off the walls. At least then we'd have something that synergized with the combat loop. Lash and Shackle grenades just incentivize you to stand at a distant picking enemies off with Osteo striga or La Monarque and then with the artifact mods you want to do the same thing so you can have more ways to suspend enemies and just stay in the back line. Imagine if you deployed the turret it could also send out a wave that suspended enemies and then with unraveling synergized with Thread of Generation and Continuity. But no Bungie isn't interested in something cool like that where we can make our supers play into our combat loop or make our supers better with fragments and give Titans something to use for DPS phases in their freaking raids and dungeons. But Titans aren't allowed to have too much fun. It'll only get nerfed if we ever do. Seriously they went with Berserker and wanted us to be in enemies faces and gave us a melee that misses and doesn't do a lot of damage damage reduction you can get easier just by picking up an orb. which spawns way more than a tangle does and often gets shot by teammates anyways.
Lots of good points here, I'm gonna force myself to play other classes more so I can make a video on everything you mentioned here. It's been something I wanted to touch on. Titan's mistreatment goes beyond lore at this point and it's annoying.
@@PocketTuna Such a shame the class with the worst melee next to Stasis has a whole aspect for getting the melee back quicker and I only use my melee for utility. Like good job Bungie I really feel like an unstoppable force.
The strand concept had potential too, like titans could have still been the "beefy brutal bonehead" class that bungie so obviously wants to keep us portayed as, but have a different super other than punch+ for the 5th time. Titans could have been grabbing the threads that are surrounding enemies (from a distance away) and either "whip" it to cause damage (light) or entangle them and pull them apart (heavy). That way you still can get the suspend elements too, (heavy attacks that don't instakill enemies suspend them and "tighten" with further attacks, causing more damage) It couldn't have taken much more effort to impliment due to similar super mechanics being in the game already
OMG thanks so much. These comments go a long way, and I appreciate them immensely. Thanks for checking me out, we’re only getting better from here. Amazing stuff planned for the future
I still wish we had something else. Bungie even had the gall to put the machine gun super idea in their art developer trailer. Which imo is still dumb but goes to show that Bungie knows titans strand is uninspired.
@@PocketTuna that’s like the first time I’ve ever seen Bungie turn off comments on one of their videos so you know they realize they’re in deep shit rn
@@PocketTuna That's definitely a possibility, or it could also be the transphobic comments that appeared when the devs had pronouns on the vidoc. It's probably both.
My honest opinion is, Strand Titans can dominate endgame PvE content thanks to suspende (drangr lash) and Wowen Mail. Aside from that the others abilities are just straint and plain with no build require and for most content pretty uselles. Woven Mail is a great buff for tanky damage, but even if you're a literally tank you'll still need someting so heal up, in the end out of the classes i think its the worst.
I think it was a missed opportunity to not give an aspect to titans that turned their grapple hook into a roadhouse hook from overwatch. Edit: I'm still disappointed that we still only have 3 grenades for stasis so I don't expect us to get any new grenades for strand any time soon.
Haven't come off of Berserker since it launched. The Tangles and Grapple are a bit too long but with building can be bypassed. Recommend using Mask of the Quiet One with this Subclass. Strand was more focused to Hunter play than the other two classes by far. Fast-paced action only the Hunters can do better. Where I can give Berserker something is in how everything is executed. Those three melee charges really can get out of situations that the other classes can fail at. Future Aspects better be helpful to Titans to really stand out. Maybe an Exotic to play into the subclass like giving DR when shields are broken AND increasing super charge time when damage is taken in that state. Gives a moment to allow a chance to survive or panic super.
I’ve been using mask of the quiet one for my current Strand builds. It’s so good. Not better than HOIL because nothing possibly can be. I haven’t seen any build videos so far about it, I’m thinking about doing one myself
Ok while I DEFINITELY agree with u about now they shit in titans(I USE to main one) but dont blame hunters. They squishy so of course they need to hit hard and woven mail and then grapple were made for them, titan just got to experience it lol
Lightfall was my 1st DLC I deadass had no expectations for due to the witch queen era. I didn’t watch anything about lightfall expect “Tyrant”(cooler name than damn berserker) and the stasis glaive(which I didn’t understand the hate for). I’ve been a Sunbreaker titan since The Taken King, and I can imma keep being a Sunbreaker.Berserker is just green behemoth. The melee is a limped dick behemoth punch, you spammed the melee to catch up to targets,& both heavy attacks are ways of stopping targets. I use subclasses based on neutral game, super,& fun. Both hammers met all 3. Thundercrash got nerfed but I still meets all 3,but berserker doesn’t. Super fun, neutral game mid,& fun only happens cause of grapple. I will definitely prefer throwing explosive hammers or causing flamenados than using behemoth that found the gambit jade stone shader.
I'm pretty sure I'm the last fist of havoc player in existence. Eternal warrior needs to give us trample back. Its called eternal warrior not slightly harder to kill warrior for 20 seconds
I have trouble keeping up healing with strand. There's no way to play it other than ape melee range and high tier content puts out more damage than I heal. Orbs heal, but can be difficult to collect sometimes. Some exotics have certain powers but it feels like when I hit my super I am squishy, or will immediately die after super
What was the fantasy supposed to be for titan strand? They call it an unstoppable force but they also say that the line no one crosses is lauded by the berserker. What is the fantasy supposed to be?
Yeah the new Titan subclass is good but you're right man. Titan really needs a new identity or something like it honestly is mind-boggling how we get random nerf after nerf for exotics and then have a kit designed by a 2-year-old aka punching everything but oh wait. Everything else does more damage in that range soo why am i there oh because i have to lol but hey I still be slapping in trials
grapple is more tuned for hunters as it was originally meant for only hunters, personally i think them being able to grapple in their super is fair and makes sense. titan strand is not that bad but i do think they should release more supers for strand on all classes. warlock strand is horrible. titans and hunters 100% got the better versions of strand
The warlock super feels good. Its definitely a jack of all trades kind of a super. You need dps? Cast it. You need to clear some adds? Cast it. It doesn't do either perfectly but it can be used for both.
2:48 Welcome to the club 😂buddy titans took Storm callers Grenades Hunters and titans took Devour and Restoration from us Warlocks It's better just to accept it and look at the bright side. You guys have void shield and better dps than us warlocks
Void does bring the most variety and identity of each class even thought Titan got the least changes. Solar and Arc has some similarities of each class but Titan got little to no variety of the subclass
The salt in the wound for PVP fans is that bungie just happened to nerf titans two best subclasses (arc, void) prior to lightfall. After playing on strand and finding it bland and uninspired I can't help but think they nerfed the better subclasses to increase the allure of playing strand upon release. Idk just my 2 cents, bungie needs to start caring more about titans. Getting pretty tired of the abuse and neglect
The worst thing about the strand Titan for me is that it's not very good in the raid. Got the Strand Triumph in the Raid last night, and it was not fun. Hardly did any damage to anything with my super
I wonder how from OG destiny 1 when only striker had a melee class fantasy, titans as a whole became the punching class. It's laughable how the best melee build isn't even on titan. It's just ability bloat.
So I did the campain on all my character and strand always felt like it was missing something which took me a bit to realize that without a damage nade of some kind strand feels kinda empty when waiting for your CDs or you dont have grapple melee up and the fact that only hunters can always grapple during super feels kinda lame but what can you do? Titan strand makes me feel stingy with the grapple unlike with hunter cause of the cd, and the slashes well you use them to get away rather than actually fight a lot of the time in higher end content the super feels well like we thought so yeah there is that Hunter super feels the most complete of the three and Warlock got blade barage with pokemon add ons Warlock strand feels a lot better when you get the fragments unlocked.
Not going to lie, I definitely enjoy Strand but it feels like just another budget Stasis but slightly better? Like I definitely do not like how the charged melee works for Stasis but the one for Strand is nice but that's about it. Same old, same thing kinda deal.
@@PocketTuna Definitely, playing Stasis Titan is not fun at all honestly, not much option for the type of melee attack you can have and even then it's a ice covered fist not much and the way they made the movement for it sometimes hard to manevuer and aim with. Sliding through the ice barricades is just about that but after that not much.
strand hunter having 24/7 woven mail compared to titan makes hunters more tanky, also grapple points making them more agile and super dmg making them do more dps. titans should have its resilience buffed by a lot compared to other classes, something like woven mail 2x and restoration 2x instead 1x bcz yk, its titan, not a damn hunter/warlock. its meant to be tanky, if it isnt significantly more tanky than other classes then theres literally NO POINT in playing a titan
Once I finish final shape I might consider dropping destiny as a whole mainly because I have been around since it’s launched with d1 but also because of the same crappy cycle of bad dlc, good dlc, bad dlc, good dlc. But if final shape does get one last subclass and the Titan super is another close quarter combat super then I’m 100% leaving this game behind
I have watched several of your Titian videos and you hit me hard bro. All of these are why I stopped playing Titian. I want to play and have fun and the Warlock and Hunter have so many toys, and the tool kits is deep. You don’t have to even try the builds are so easy, while at the same time you have to do Everything right with Titian. The game punishes you for being up close and the front line is where Bungie pushes the Class. 😢
Your analogies r hilarious haha as much a sypu compare the Titan to other classes' Strand subclasses, the Titan does it better in every way. The strand Titan is the only one I would take into a GM to be fair. Feels like Hunter and Warlock strand builds are only suited for patrols. Three melee charges each for Titan and Warlock BUT you can go eat dinner and come back and your Warlock still doesn't have all three charges back lol so.... Maybe my builds for them r just sh*t (I'm hoping that's the case as I'd love to use them with more confidence).
Ah yes, the typical idealist that doesn’t realize that bungee won’t listen to anyone else’s opinion outside the studio of their own…your wasting breathe my guy..they never listen to anyone..and if they do? Too little, Too late. Just sounds like you complaining in the middle and during the end.. :/
