www.uniquecoloring.com/ - In this episode of Unique Coloring, Daniel J. Middleton draws and discusses Bessie Coleman, the first black female pilot ever who barnstormed across America doing air shows in the 1920s. Being a black female pilot at the time was extremely rare, since air shows predominately featured white males. Along with being an aerobatic pilot, Bessie Coleman also parachuted for large crowds and gave motivational speeches at black schools and churches.
This Bessie Coleman biography features me drawing another grayscale coloring page for my black history adult coloring book.

I had never heard of her in my life. What made me search for her was because of a little girl's project was denied by her teacher. Bessie Coleman was an amazing lady.

My Wife Mary and her Friend, with over 108 years of flying behind them, were honored to be a part of an all-Black FEMALE crew working every aspect of the flight. I love this woman! Born on January 26th, my birthday, makes her an adventurous Aquarius! I had never heard her name before but everyone SHOULD know her name and story. I am so glad there is the flight school named after her--quite a legacy. What a brave and daring soul!

So glad you liked this video as well. Sadly, the Bessie Coleman flight school started by William J. Powell closed due to hardships brought on by the Great Depression. Bessie still left a wonderful and lasting legacy, however.

I have been watching RU-vid for years and until yesterday, your videos never appeared in my algorithm! I have a list of Black Heros that I look at each day for inspiration and Bessie Coleman is one of these figures. Thanks for creating these necessary videos, showing us that there is so much to be proud of as a race who contributed and sacrificed their lives for this country.

From the cotton fields she saw the birds flying and she figured she could fly too she was no cursed child in books, she found her wings and like icarus she found her warmth in the sun though white men, even black, told her " no" the spirit of harriet tubman said " yes " and the aquarian found her destiny in patis, they welcomed blacks with open arms there, a black bird could fly free, and so you got you license you saw trees but they were only home to bird and gave birth to dreams you were no cursed child you were brave enough to defy gravity like icarus, you never feared fire only the warmth of flames you would step on the wings as you soared, only to touch god you never feared the sun somewhere, you are still flying you a a black bird and the skies are owned by no one you are beyond icarus, touching the face of destiny You are a black bird, not a cursed child e.g.k. 2'20'22

If this question is not too personal, what inspired you to do research and create these informative and we'll developed videos? These videos should be developed into educational series. You should CONNECT with International African American Museum which opened in June 2023. Seriously, you need to put these videos in a series and give more access where people view these little masterpieces of a person who cares about history.

I know I can't change this Black glorifying narrative of past and present, It will be best for the sake of humanity to just tell the legacy made by these great people to their community and the world. I strongly believe all these stories about Black individual achievement wouldn't be possible if the heroes were race minded type of individual, This fact which i strongly believe is true your channel the likes will have greater impact in the world if it will narrate commoners who made an impact to the community and the world without regarding race. Bring to the viewers table something of a Tennis game where individuals of all nations are well come to perform. Your story depicts the nature of human being by the California authority at the time. To me those white men by God willing are in paradise. We as humans should glorify their willing to put their lives and family in fetal danger at the time of augur well ruling. We now have white African who are oftentimes miss interpreted miss treated and sometimes killed. Yet they are Africans because Africa is the name of the continent nothing to do with race.

Almost sounds like her death was staged. Then, in an attempt to make this look like an accident you plunges into a spiral, but then loses control of the plane himself. America was not ready for people of color to do the things that she was trying to do at that time. It’s a tragedy.America is the only nation that I am aware of that kills its own.😢
