I just watched the story of Bessie Colman on Prime. I can’t believe that this was my first time hearing about her story.

I will be portraying Bessie Colemen at The History Center here in Orlando FL for school trips next month. I've heard Bessie Coleman's name my whole life but never really knew her life story. I was given a script and her background info, but I wanted to know her voice and mannerisms and was hoping to find any kind of live footage of her talking .... and then I came across this FANTASTIC video of her great niece!! I learned so much about Bessie than just looking at a page with words! By the end I felt like Bessie was talking to "ME", and I got teary eyed at the end when she said she had to "go back to the skies". It was just the inspiration I needed! Bessie lifestory is absolutely MIND BLOWING! This woman is such an ICON and I am honored to get the opportunity portray her for the students! Thank you for this video!! 💌🛩💌

I really enjoyed the story of Bessie Coleman. I wish that I had learned about her a long time ago. I’m in my 70s to find out just how magnificent she was I’m glad to know that she has come to light.
