Great list! I own the Speedmaster, Hamilton Khaki Field, Oris 400, and the white dial Rolex Explorer II (40mm)! All great watches that I wear regularly.

Great video with a lot of variety. The Monaco is something I've looked at but may just now. The one I still haven't seen in person is the Snowflake, maybe it's better that way if I want to keep out of my overdraft!

I have been a watch enthusiast since 2019 and that was the time I started learning all about the different watch brands and their history. You can never go wrong with an Omega speedmaster or a Rolex and the like. 😍 Keep it up!!😊

Longines Spirit Zulu time GMT, in 39 or 42 presents incredible value at the price point and is a beautiful piece. The Black Bay 41 METAS punches well above its weight, especially on the 5-link bracelet, I opted for the burgundy though.

If I were a new enthusiast and heard these prices (except for the Hamilton) I’d run for the hills . There are many, many great watches for a new enthusiast that cost significantly less and snobs still love them.

My first "luxury" watch was an Oris Aquis Lake Baikal in 2020. Still love it and wear it all the time.

Great list! I’ve been really. happy with my pre-owned blue BB58. You really can’t beat it for about $3K.

Love the selection! I started in watches with many Seikos (like the Alpinist) and some Casios, but my first real luxury watch was a Santos Medium (scratchy but very versatile!). Then, I got a BB54, which is my current daily wear. My next 'dream watch' is either an IWC Ingenieur or a Rolex Oyster!

Totally nailed it. Each of those watches are great. Of the 12, I either own (8) or am planning to buy (2). No Rolex Oyster or IWC. Planning on buying the Moonwatch with the crystal and the Monaco. Great job!!!

I'd place Longines ahead of a few of those. The Spirit, Zulu Time, Legend... All stunning pieces at unbelievable value for money.

My first luxury watch was the Omega Constellation Globemaster on the blue leather strap, the first to get METAS certification unless I'm mistaken. I love the pie pan dial and the date at 6 topped off with the incredibly hard fine fluted Tungsten Carbide bezel I love it and still have it. The jump hour time setting is great for the daylight saving time adjustments without stopping the movement. A forgotten modern classic in my humble opinion

I have Cartier Santos Dumont , santos de Cartier, Rolex Sub Starbucks, Jlc Reverso , Omega speedmaster , AquaTerra , Iwc Pilot Mark 2 Green 40 mm ,Rolex Op 41 Black and Tudor Black Bay Burgendy

That’s a great list, but the models presented are not just for newbies in the watch game. A lot of them could be a one and done watch. I got 3 of them or 4 if I’m gonna count my Black Bay 54 too.

The Heuer Monaco calibre 11 might be my next piece. It's up against a Sinn 142 Space chronograph or a Tutima 798 military chronograph both powered by the Legendary Lemania 5100

Just on the Speedy in this video and already have red flags. Both the hesalite and sapphire have the 3861 coaxial movement, but only the sapphire has the see-through caseback. Other design cues give the sapphire away. The marker at 12 is different, and bracelet small interior links are polished on the sapphire. I bought the sapphire because I wanted to see the movement, and because I wasn’t concerned about shards puncturing my space suit - mostly because I’m not an astronaut. I figured that was an acceptable risk.

My two watch collection is the hesalite speedmaster and the black bay 54!

Breitling gmt 40 black dial or breitling classic AVI mosquito 42 black dial. Tried both on yesterday similar price trying to choose. Like your opinions. Thank you

as you said boring watches are watches lived for long time and will continue living on for long . they are the classics . i still like rolex day date presidential no matter how old or boring people may say about it .

The piece that started it all in my case was a Cartier lookalike by Tissot. Many others then followed.

Pretty good list. Depends on price point of course but I’d lean towards suggesting a watch that is an all-rounder just in case their enthusiasm (or funds) wane. Speedmaster is No1 but I’d go for an Explorer 1 as my second choice. Santos 3rd (quartz version if they don’t have the funds for an automatic). IWC is also a great choice but it’s a tough call between the Spitfire, Mk XX and Pilot 36. The Hamilton is next. After that I’d go for a Longine Spirit (normal one if they couldn’t stretch to one of the IWC or Zulu Time as the better choice). I wouldn’t put a Grand Seiko or Tudor on the list. I have the AT blue dial 38mm and the dial colour is addictive but it’s probably a second or third watch in a collection rather than the first

How about Longine’s Ultra Chrono? And Time Lab certification is better than COSC.

I went into Chisholm Hunter yesterday to ask about the new Tudor 39mm GMT and the Monochrome. They told me these watches wouldn't be available in the shop for me to look at for about a year. But over here, Mr. Customer, you can look at these other Tudors from last year...

The Explorer II with the polar dial was my first luxury watch. TBH I picked it as I didn't want to look cheap and buy an Air King, neither did I want to go into the stratosphere price wise. Still love it even though now my watch knowledge (and purchase history) has moved on!

Case width of the medium santos is 35mm fyi.

4/5 of my main watches made it onto the list. The Tudor BB Mono mentioned is the only reason the submariner which would’ve made it 5/5. My watch collection must be extremely boring

My first luxury watch was an Oris Aquis New York Harbour. It was pretty much an impulse purchase, but after a year of owning it, I still love it just as much as day one!

When you're recommending these and they are available in other sizes you should mention this because people who are unaware of this might be a potential customer for that size.

The Cartier Santos medium is not 41.9mm. That’s its lug to lug height measurement. The case width is 35.1mm. Cartier doesn’t even advertise the lug to lug height.

Harrison, you are misleading people with your images of the speedy. You are talking about the hesalite version and showing the exhibition back of the sapphire version. I know they have the same movement now, but the way you present it is that the hesalite has this exhibition back also.

Speedy, Snowflake, Explorer I, the Santos is nice, Id skip the Monaco and probably buy a Pelagos vs the BB. May want to look at a JLC Reverso duo - I like the 1931 tribute, Id probably get that over the Santos

I'd love to have an Aqua Terra. But I have a rule....only one watch per brand.

Tag Heuer Monaco was such an excellent choice for inclusion in this list. It’s a real conversation starter with its modern-vintage look and one can be had for about $5k or less.

This is more like a list of watches you want to be sure other people can recognize your watch to validate your purchase.

I think if you have money and you have a watch collection it MUST contain a speedmaster ❤

Hmm…For me, beater watches are plastic, everyday watches made of common metals, and luxury watches are crafted from precious metals.

My first luxury watch was a Rolex submariner with the Cyclops. It's gone because it was heavy and inaccurate.

Says a lot about the "luxury" watch industry that a hesalite Speedy is now £6.5k compared to the £2.9k I paid from an AD in 2015. There is inflation and then there is taking the piss!

Speedy 57 is a better watch thqn the moonwatch. Seamaster 300 heritage is also a great first watch.

If you are a knew watch enthusiast just start with a watch for £50 quid like a used Tissot, not some of these overpriced tool watches

oh boy I would sure love to spend more than a months salary just so that watch snobs can approve of my copious spending for a tool that tells the time. "Watch snobs love these!" These are great watches, but you come off as very disingenuous when this is seemingly your biggest reason as to why new enthusiasts should buy the pieces you're showing off. These watches speak for themselves, and using the "watch snobs love these" phrase, is really doing yourself and the hobby a disservice imo.
