+Brick Wasson and 2015 was pretty crazy too. It wound up being a battle between BD and crown but for a while it was anyones game between the cadets, bluecoats, blue devils, and crown.
It was a pretty close battle between BD and Cavies (they beat BD in Allentown, ending their winning streak that season) Phantom kinda snuck up outta nowhere and peaked at the absolute perfect time
never will forget. i was towards the top for 08 finals. phantoms closer. you can see it in this video. the crowd starting from the back all stand and about 40 seconds left in the show everybody is standing. i got so many chills that night. things like that are things youll never forget.

10 years later and I still think 2008 had some of the most memorable shows. I still listen to The Knockout, Finis, Spartacus, and Samurai to this day. I think it also signified the end of an era, since finals moved to Indy.
Just the intro alone is enough to get me pumped. The Bluecoats are easily my favorite corps and always have been, cause their shows are some of the most passionate, and, to be frank, badass, you will ever see.
Phantom was still using G bugles in '02? Interesting, I didn't know that. Do you happen to know when all corps started to make that transition? To my knowledge, the Cadets and Blue Devils switched to Bb in 2000, but I'm not sure if any other corps did.
Kiran Sundar every finals corps besides Madison were on Bb horns by 2003. I remember hearing somewhere that 2003 was the last time a corps made finals on G bugles with the Scouts.
2008 was the best year in DCI, hands down. The best shows. Spartacus, The Knockout, Constantly Risking Absurdity, La Noche De La Iguana, Samurai.. amazing.
This video makes me so happy that i'll be a part of Carolina Crown 2011. Prelims in 2008 was the first time I actually WATCHED Carolina Crown. I was rooting for Phantom Regiment, but then Crown caught my attention.
This is the first video i saw about drum corps, THIS IS THE YEAR THAT MADE ME WANT TO MARCH! Especially Bloo and Crown In the begining! Glad I started marching!
2008 was a ridiculously awesome year for DCI. Phantom, Bluecoats, and Cavaliers. I LOVE Phantom's first hit, but the horn feature for the Bluecoats in unbelievable. I just love it. :)
Carolina Crown is going to be bad ass this year. Straight up that corps has not only connections to talented members and staff but there is an incredible amount of interest in this corps from all over the WORLD. Crown is a contender and people will be even more amazed with them this season

When i first saw that and was like dang but when they did a close up of the line at the end and saw it was cadets i flipped out..they have major potiental for next year
I know, right? My Daddy is a band director and they came to our hometown and practiced with my Daddy for a week . Best.Time.Ever. The kids LOVED seeing them in person. I was here the whole time (in Japan), but Daddy said they were THE professionals.
You can tell this was the Holy Grail year for DCI just by the views this guys videos have. the next closest is 2010's and its still like 250,000 views behind :)
Excellent video!! This video helped me convince some newbies to go see a drum corps show this year. DCI should post your DVDs on their website to recruit new fans. And I love how you don't have any narration in your "best of" series!!
@mrtangerine999 I can't completely describe the feelings that were going through my head right then...ranging from "I'm so glad I never have to pick up a contra again" to "OMG the crowd reaction!!!!!" to "I'll never get to perform this show with this group of people ever again..." But then, of course, we won and we got to do it one more time! It was truly amazing.
so many good shows 2008, one of the best years in dci in my memory. Don't think there was one show in 08 that i thought o it's okay, everything was great. :D
best season in recent memory, in my opinion. I was lucky enough to see most of these when they came to ohio. I can't tell you how crazy people went when Blue Devils did their ending. didn't see phantom, cavaliers, or scouts though. Cavaliers really put it together with their sound; gives me goosebumps at the end every time. wish my high school band was this good.
Gotta REALLY appreciate you making these, man - they're really helping me decide which finals DVD collections to buy next. I doubt I'll ever own all of them, but I sure as heck am going to have the best! Thanks!!
