Hey Joel, just wondering how come the decathlon rangefinder didn't make the list? I got it based on your recommendation last year. Works perfect and it didn't break the bank
Hi Danny. In this video we were testing mostly lasers launched in 2021 or the latter part of 2020. The Decathlon laser, we agree, is very good - we featured it in our best lasers 2020 video last year, but we wanted to feature as many new products in this one as possible. Thanks for watching! Joel.
Got 5 different model. that all are numerous years old. Most expensive is the SNDWay 1500B (1500m) with 30x datalogging and colordisplayand touch and all the other jazz with flag, height, speed, angle, area, volume, 1500m distance., running scanning mode, decimals so 10cm interval. but also insane values, if you try to take cubic readings. (just checked its logging on it colordisplay 1450mx1445mx1445m = 3.028x10in9 but its laser is very strong pickup distances around 1500m with ease, sadly it seems its software locked at 1500m so wont go higher. (costed 145USD like 2 years back) but even a 1500m Atuman that costed 65USD delivered to Denmark with incl. 25% danish VAT 1½ years back from CN BG.. seem to have most of these features.. 10x datalogging and scanning, angle, decimals, flag etc etc..and inbuild LiION battery. (that unit ain't locked at 1500m, but cant manage a lot more.. highest reading I got was around 1550m, and not bad for 65USD delivered with incl. 25% VAT blows my mind how they can make it and sell it and still earn money at these prices. but just the technology is mindblowing.. how it's able to send these photons 1500m away and get feedback and conclude the distance with surprisingly good accuracy. (unreal) the biggest con on the cheaper ones is the reflective LCD display, as it can make it annoying to read against shades or against darker backgrounds...here emissive tech like OLED value display.. like we see on fx some of Bushnell's longer high-end models, is preferred.. stabilization etc and things like haptic feedback also not the case on the cheap ones.. the prime quality ain't bad, even in the very cheap ones.. labelled as BAK4 This video gives an indication of the reaction time of this ridiculous cheap 1500m 65USD Atuman that was on sale 1½ year back. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ondIkydXpTE.html
I have one. But find myself wanting a gps watch instead. I feel like I could lower my score by just playing for the middle of the greens more often. Which is much easier with gps watch yardages.
I agree I have both but mainly use the rangefinder on the driving range or if I’m trying to determine the flags position on the green relative to my gps watch numbers. Other than that my gps watch is my go to.
Why don't they make Rangefinders with bigger Lenses and having 2 eyes as view like large glasses, and with more lasers, like 5 lasers for more accuracy, also like a cell phone that I can take pictures and print them.
Surely the precision pro one is illegal to use in competition with all those features switched on as are all the others with a slope mode if you use them with that function switched on?
@@michaelgillies9075 Yes I'm aware of that but me being cynical I wonder how many of their playing partners would know that let alone make sure it was happening. It's just too open to abuse IMO and the R&A need to do something spec wise so it's obvious both when it's being used with or without these illegal options that playing partners can easily identify out on the course.
@@Bazza47 if you have a suspicion that your partner isn’t doing the right thing u can ask them, and if they wish not to show u,u can report them to the committee R&A don’t need to anything as it states that u can’t use the slope function in competition but u can in practice, and for the most part, people are doing the right thing and if they aren’t they run the risk of being labeled a cheat and no golfer likes that label as mud sticks
@@michaelgillies9075 Thanks for the reply Michael. Yes I get that and would have no problem challenging someone I don't usually play with if I thought they were flouting the rules though I'm not confident everyone else would do the same.
