This demo designed by DTS in by far the most dynamic video to test your 5.1 Home Theater systems. These are 3 separate videos originally made in DTS:X which I have combined and converted to Dolby 5.1 for RU-vid.
It actually worked in proper 5.1 in my setup, this came as a shock to me as i was expecting this video of yours to be fake as many other videos on youtube, when did youtube announce 5.1 sound? I heard absolutely no news about this, can everyone upload 5.1 (or above) content now?
@@chrissyman77 Actually No, i was using regular youtube app on my TV (Samsung) and dolby audio showed up, then after a few days it did stop working but now it seems to be back again. But it was in regular youtube app not youtube tv app which by the way is also not available in my country.
This is REALLY Dolby digital sounds. Thanks youTube and this channel. Wish the walk around test through the speakers to stay more at each one. Hopefully RU-vid will upgrade the music videos.
The first test is wrong (back speakers), but the other works perfect. I use to test my system because sometimes is playing movies in stereo instead of 5.1 and i fix it by testing with this.
@@xsietube Happened to me the first time. I was crazy checking cable by cable and wires from my sound system and tv, but noticed that after the first test ends the rest sound plays properly.
yeah.... total fcking bullshit really. RU-vid is purposely sabotaging PC users who use their PCs as media centers. Oly wy o get surround out of you tube is to use a built-in-tv app. It wasnt always this way.... which is what reveals this to not be a technical issue, but rather a business decision on youtube's part.
centre 1:16 left front 1:12 left front height 1:27 right front 1:14 right front height 1:29 left 1:18 left rear 1:23 left rear height 1:32 right 1:20 right rear 1:25 right rear height 1:35
Thankyou. This is helpful. Please advise. I have just bought anew reciever, connected to xbox with optic and find dolby digital better than dts? This puzzles me as people say dts is better?
Holyshit. I knew that Doby Atmos sucked, but I had no idea surround virtualization could even be THIS good. You just, sorta, you know, saved me 8000 dollars in Atmos speakers set-up. Holy god damn
Spending hours to figure out why when windows tests my speakers they are all there and saved as 5:1 config etc all working fine. But when listening to ANY content that's supposedly 5:1 only the front left/right/centre and sub work. The rear left and right refuse to output any audio. =( any help?
its all simulated 5.1 anyway. I am a paid subscriber and its still simulated 5.1 not true 5.1 a good receiver manipulates it to a decent 5.1 experience. But think like this 99% of CD'S and music is mixed and fabed think of all the artist that didnt sound good at a live concert that nailed it on radio and cd. But your ears still liked the studio recorded version.
I don't think RU-vid Premium is a matter here, I am playing this video on Pixel 7 Pro with Pixel Buds A Series (Spatial Audio enabled) and through Stats for Nerds I can see the audio format is ec-3, means Spatial Audio is working here
I like watching these even though Its simulated 5.1 as shown on my receiver and my 5th-6th upgraded receiver system over the years. RU-vid doesn't do true 5.1. My first surround system was back in very early 90's and all there was back then was select Dolby 5.1 and mostly simulated at same time I hung my direct tv dish on roof from a diy kit. Was no streaming. If your a guy wanting a good decent experience the Nvidia stream box hard to beat. I have dedicated desktop running my TV with top video card and dedicated sound card along with NVidia box also have no longer used Apple tv roku a fire stick and they are collecting dust in a box somewhere.
RU-vid do stream in 5.1 if you are using a good tv that can pass-through the sound via HDM or digital output. The option will not show up if you are using phone, tablet or computer.
@@juanfigueroa4989 have a brand new Sony smart TV that is passing digital audio to my 5.1 receiver. It plays 5.1 from my cable box and Apple TV correctly, but content from the built-in RU-vid app (including this video) only plays in stereo (simulated surround-Dolby Pro Logic). Does this video actually play in true discrete 6-channels for some of you? Do I need to be using a paid RU-vid account? (I am not.)
There’s an awful lot of people in here with a gross misunderstanding of how audio receivers work. Just because some 45 year old man writes a paragraph copy/pasted from quora it doesn’t make him right. Time to buy an updated receiver loser
Just set up new 5.1.2 soundbar/speakers. When it says the individual speakers, my rears say all the speakers the same. Are they supposed to only say “right rear” and “left rear” and not say any of the others? How do I fix that?
Am i missing something? My PC is hooked to me 5.1 AVR (set on multi in), windows audi o for device settings on 5.1 but i only get sound from L and R front speakers. In games i get surround bu not on youtube. Im using chrome
Why does this only play on my Vizio SB3651-E6 5.1 Sound Bars Front,Center & LFE and not the Surround Speakers? Normally I have to download a File and play it with Windows Media Player to get the Full 5.1 Surround effect.
Dear 4K Clips And Trailers i have one question. I did upload my own clip to youtube made in 5.1 surround system. What was your output file extension? MOV? My clip in YT plays in 5.1 but is very quiet. Can not understand why is that. Kind regards!
I'm using a home theater and optical output with Dolby surround Live, which gives 5.1 Dolby Digital sound for DVDs, Blu-Ray Discs and files stored on my computer, running on Windows 10. This video, however, plays in 2-chanel stereo only here. Is there something I need to set up on my RU-vid account for it to work properly? By the way: I have a RU-vid Premium account, although I'm not sure if that makes a difference for this. Using Windows 10.
Correct me if I am wrong. These samples are Only for Stereo speakers. They kinda sound 5.1'ish.... but not really. In other words Surround sound is something to make stereo speakers sound like 5.1. I think it's a friggin' crime 5.1 audio isn't more widespread. Also, RU-vid does not support true 5.1.
Interesting when I use my REALTEK Audio sound setting configuration 5.1 Surround sound I can't hear the other speakers go off, only the two front left and right. But in this VIDEO I clearly hear them all.
Everyone doesn't have a supported device for it, or youtube won't play for it. Keep updated for RU-vid they will make it work in the future if they do.
@@4KClipsAndTrailers should rear right and left have lower power coming out? When rear left and right go on in video I am hearing mostly the center speaker
99% people cant even differentiate.. Dolby is popular now like dts was in the 90s and 00s....mainly because they are good in marketing.. If OTT starts supporting dts x then only they have a second chance
@@s2000. No, that's not true now. Some people are posting in 5.1, check out the settings icon. This test worked fine for 5.1 with clear definition of the 5 channel surround. RU-vid used to be just stereo. (BTW, you can get surround effects in stereo that are much better that 5.1)
@@viciouspoodle5543 I'm on pc connected via dts optical to an 5.1 receiver and all I got was stereo in straight mode. Dolby Pro logic couldn't make any sense of it either. Quick googling says 5.1 is an TV only feature right now (I didn't know that actually). But these tests are still useless for the vast majority browsing RU-vid. Better off downloading some tests from the internet.
@@s2000. Hi, I should have clarified. It works on my Fire TV and Fire TV stick using the RU-vid ap. My Emotiva decodes it nicely. I only have 2.1 for my PC.
Spatial sound on a pixel 7 doesn't seem to work. Turn it off and I can hear a difference between left/right front, side, and rear. Turn on spatial and front side and rear all sound the same, left/right front height sound like rear, and rear sounds like side 🤷
imagine 1,000 speakers. thats precisely what my Uncle Ned has in his main theater. 32-16" SVS subwoofers to boot. My Uncle Ned is the smartest person in the world..... y'all could learn a think or too from my Uncle Ned...
