Being in the migration industry long enough, we have seen many students push themselves into a course of study for PR purposes, and after a few months, they want to change their major because they did not have any interest in the subject.
To follow the article about “where I should study in Australia ”, international students may be in the middle of career pathway (Big cities with giant organizations and job opportunities to grow) and PR pathway (Regional areas with higher chances of getting permanent residency).
The 2 goals do not normally share the same way for most international students. So which states in Australia are the best for each type?
Before choosing suitable courses to study, we may need to look at some points to understand better how you will get an Australian permanent residency.
There are two most popular visa streams to get Australian PR:
Skilled Visa (Subclass 189, 190, and 491)
Employer-Sponsored Visa (Subclass 482, 494, DAMA and 186 Visa)
The standard requirements listed in those streams are:
Qualification of your study that meets the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF)
Postive Skill Assessment
Work experience in nominated occupation
English and Age requirements
Here we discuss a few courses from the Australian Permanent residency point of view.
Here are certain things you should consider about courses that can lead to Permanent Residency in Australia:
You must complete a minimum of two years of study in Australia, depending on the level or course of study.
Your study program should be CRICOS
You should apply for a PSWV (Post Study Work Visa 485) 485 visa or Temporary Graduate Visa 485 within six months of completing your course in Australia.
You must follow ANZSCO(Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations) job descriptions.

The reason why Accounting is not in the list although there are many more accountants being invited in Australia last year than Chef is because there are too many Accountant in Australia at the moment making the competition higher than before.

I have been seeking for PhD in either Mining, chemical or civil engineering, but have not been successful. Should I look for alternative option by pursuing Masters degree in Australia prior to PhD application although I am ageing (in my my late thirties) . What would be the best option for me. I wish to stay after graduation. I posses Bsc in Mineral Engineering and Msc in Petroleum engineering with experience in both fields, but majority of experience in Petroleum engineering. Hi. My son has completed his Bachelor in Human Science (Major in Human Movement and Major in Public Health.) he has given his IELTS exam in 2019 and 2022 and scored an 8 both times. after completing his bachelor's degree he opted for a TR for two years (financial reasons) now he wishes to study Master in Physiotheraty (2 years) or Doctor in Physiotherapy (3 years) 2024 intake, after which he wishes to apply for a PR in Audstralia. The catch is that he does not have work experience IN THE FIELD ( he currently works at a supplement store as a sales specialist) and cannot apply for a TR again. what would be his options in this regard? So I am from Texas I plan to take a paramedic course in Australia as an international student. I am still a high school student in my senior year graduating in a few months. I am also currently taking an EMT course offered by a nearby college. You think studying this in Australia would work? Also I am worried about the GTE assessment but I have not looked into it to much. Please let me know what you think and thank you for your time.
