Learn how to turn a basic wood sawhorse and turn it into the ULTIMATE, adjustable workstation. Using pipe clamps and a simple, foot activated lever, the height of the cutting surface can be easily raised to lowered to match your work surface. Four different, DIY removable and interchangeable inserts make working with almost any material much easier. This is a cheap and easy way to create outfeed support for large tools like a table saw, jointer or planner.
This is a simple, afternoon project, perfect for beginners!

the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. ru-vid.comUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

For breaking down 4 x 8 sheet goods, you could run 3 each 2 x 4’s between the sawhorses on the neoprene inserts to create a great sacrificial grid. Then set your blade depth just like you did when using the foam sheet. It’s the safest and most stable way to cut down plywood, MDF and other difficult to handle sheet goods. Especially if you make yourself a rip guide for your circular saw. (There are several excellent video’s on making a simple plywood guide that will allow you to cut down ply to exact dimensions.) Your horses came out great, they are so functional! You’re so right, you will be finding new uses for them for years. Thanks for sharing them with the community. Cheers!

Great ideas and very useful (although I didn’t get to dowel pins idea until you told me) still very useful. I already use the flying saucers and the pipe idea for my outfeed table at my table saw but I love the idea of moving them up and down and will be pinching the idea for my use, I will also have to take a trip to my local DIY shop for some of that tape to stop anything from moving. Well done again.

Wonderful addition to the saw horses. I just built mine today and this will be awesome project to customise them further. Thanks a lot for the idea specially one thing which I picked is those rollers which I didn't know the name and I wanted to search for it online. Thank you so much. Keep it up and congratulations on realest completed house and workshop. God bless you.

I just bought everything I need to make these. I'm going to skip the flying saucer roller bearings for now, although, I might want to revisit them down the road. Those PVC rollers are going to be a huge asset to my contractor sized table saw. I'm very glad I found this channel, and this video, you just got yourself another subscriber.
@YouTuber-mc2el

The rollers will work much better for table saw work. The long roller will pull or push your work depending on which way the roller is positioned relative to the fence, The rollers don't care. Ask me how I know?

I thought I'd seen all the sawhorse videos I could ever benefit from, but this one gave me a few new thoughts. The inserts are all great, but I really liked the idea of mounting that insert tray on the pipe clamps, which are separated by the channel. The channel adds strength, and the pipe clamps transfer all the weight from projects sitting on the insert tray into the ends of the sawhorse and the legs. Architecturally speaking, that's always a good idea to take potential extra pressure off the center. My suggestion, though, is to make it a little easier to unlock the pipe clamps by cutting the rope and make a foot operated pedal out of a long piece of scrap wood. To keep the pedal from turning over, anchor a piece of PVC pipe in each end of the pedal, long enough to cover a substantial portion of the rope. Thread the rope down through the pipe and the hole drilled for anchoring the pipe, and knot the end as you demonstrated. I don't think the pedal would get in the way while working, and it would eliminate the rope from getting twisted or tangled off to the side so it becomes difficult to get your foot onto the middle of the loop. Not sure, but I think if you pressed one side of the pedal, it might only release the lock on that side's clamp, so you have to step on the middle consistently. I suppose you could keep the pedal from getting in your way by gluing a couple of pieces of Velcro to the sides of the pedal at the ends, and putting a short strip of the mating surface on the far leg from where you are standing, and after adjusting the height on your tray, just push the pedal away so that the Velcro tabs connect to the far legs. To release it, just put your foot on the pedal and push down with a little force and it should loosen pretty easily. Anyway, making that modification might be kind of fun, just to try it out. That detached workshop area looks like a real dream.

Thanks! A few ideas: - put neoprene (1 or 2 layers) under the feet - it will prevent sliding and wobbling on uneven flooring - attachments: put say neoprene on one side and the rollers on the other side of the 2*4 - put screws at the ends, so you can lift them out of 2 slots and rotate them as needed (won't work with the dowel-rollers (unless you make them narrower and the tray underneath open)).

I used those ball bearing inserts for a different purpose in my shop. Here in S. Florida, the humidity got 'em. They quickly rusted and wouldn't roll reliably. I got another set and sprayed them with some dry lube, the kind that has Teflon and some kind of wax in it. I think it's made by CRC. I'm pretty sure it's the wax and not the Teflon that does the trick. A couple of years in and they still look pretty much like new. I give them a spritz every once in a while (when I think about it).

I don't own a saw, I just enjoy watching vids but my idea would be to have a sawhorse with about 7 inches overhang past the legs to add a hole for bench dogs. I am not a woodworker so i don't know if this is something that is really needed as it seems sawhorse are just meant to hold stuff up. My other idea would be to just make some of the gadgets reversible so you could just flip over the painting side with the flat side and make the hand grasp part a double wedge like a triangle so you could still have that easy pull feature. Lots of great ideas in this video. Very professional to give credit to all the other craftsmen.
