The Osprey Aether 70 Backpack is a great pack for a quick overnight trip or an extended backpacking adventure. Designed for versatility, this is a great choice for the new backpacker or seasoned pro.
The Osprey Aether 70 is super versatile allowing you to carry heavier loads comfortably and can also be slimmed down for shorter trips. The carry system supports up to about 60 pounds and the hip belt molds to your hips either by warming at the outdoor store of your choice or just by wearing it for a while.
Good quality materials hold up well too. With plenty of cinch straps, the Aether 70 adjusts well for almost any sized pack needed. With stretchy pouches on the sides for water bottles, a stretchy pouch on the rear for quick stowing of gear and a separate exterior hydration sleeve, the pack adjusts to your adventure.
An added “J” zipper on the front of the pack also allows easy retrieval of gear in the middle of the pack without pulling everything out from the top. A separate zippered pouch at the bottom holds your sleeping bag and inflatable pad too.
Packed with features, comfortable to wear and durable, the Osprey Aether 70 backpack is a great choice for many of your backpacking adventures!

The recipe for Sawback Gear was born high on the switchbacks of Mount Whitney. The idea was simple, we wanted everyone to have the opportunity to experience the combination of relaxation, excitement, and rejuvenation that only the outdoors can provide. Start by giving people the know-how they need to ensure their adventures are successful and fun. Next, help people find the best equipment and gear they need. Finally, focus on the community, creating a group of people who simply love being outdoors. Throw in a handful of conservation (because you can’t go outdoors without the outdoors) and you’ve got the recipe for Sawback Gear. Whether its rock climbing, backpacking, mountaineering, or camping, if you want to get outdoors, we are here to help. If you love the outdoors as much as we do, subscribe to our channel! Literally found this backpack in a dumpster by a coincidence, brand new condition, I love living in Denmark 🇩🇰! The backpack have been giving me alot of joy, traveling Europe and a bit of Asia. I'm not a rich person, and probably wouldn't cash out that amount of money it cost, but faith reached me a hand, and I'm difently grateful!

Hmmmm. Tent poles, trekking poles? No fishing poles. Lol. I love this pack. I literally got this pack for $100. Not as good as the guy from Denmark who found his in the garbage. Thanks for posting.

I’ve had mine for about 20 years and I agree with you, it’s a brilliant pack.

Great video. I have the Aether 70 and really like it for late fall, winter, and early spring to carry larger loads wth cold weather type gear. I like the Osprey Kestrel 48 for summer when I can get by with less gear. I use the Osprey Talon 33 for day hikes. As you can tell I am really a big fan of Osprey packs.

@@sawbackgear6119 So far so good on Harness system. The waist belt is alittle trying to get on with a decent 30-40 pounds. But once it is buckled and on right. It is good for me then. I just did 30 mies on the AT. Here is central Pa my first time. I like the way the trekking poles can be stowed away. Looking for another trip from Harpers Ferry, Wv. to Boiling Springs, Pa. next spring. I also learned shoes are very important .My pack doesn't have the exterior Hydration Resovoir pocket. I have to put mine inside. I didn't know they came with an exterior hydration pocket.

Jeffrey Donaldson, Shoes are DEFINITELY important! They do the most work on the trail, a good pair is worth it’s weight in gold. Adjusting a pack can be a challenge to do properly, however, once adjusted it will help distribute the weight evenly and keep your experience comfortable. We’ll be publishing a video in the future about the proper way to adjust a pack for optimal performance. ~Trevor

Jeffrey Donaldson Check out Justin's backpacking water bottle holders on Etsy.com. You can mount them on the shoulder straps and make accessing smart water type bottles very easy.

I have this pack. Purchased after suffering for years with an uncomfortable, large volume expedition pack. The expedition pack had a large bag for certain, but the yoke/harness was not adequate for the volume of the bag. With the Aether70, I enjoy hiking with a pack again.

Agree. What I like is the versatility too. Allows you to adjust the pack for the length of trip, volume you carry, etc. Thanks for the comment! Be safe!

By the way, I have the Atmos AG 65 Lrg, tas well as the Atmos 65 Airspeed, I like those lots, both systems are superlative. I have Volt 60 Manta AG36 Stratus 25 with the air speed system, and the Code 32 snow board pack. You wanna see unreal that's a great one for snowboarding. Love me some Osprey. In addition I know you'll love the Atmos AG series. I love the outside pockets. I use the Aether for longer trips when I bring a mini guitar. Happy treking

It is ok a 5'6 height carrying a opsrey aether 70 AG ??

Jhene Sanchez, The Osprey Aether 70 comes in multiple sizes. Most packs measurements are based on torso length. If you have someone measure from your C7 vertebra (the one that pokes out when you touch your chin to your chest) to the point in the middle of your lower back that is the same height as the top of your iliac crest (the top of the hip bone), you can compare that measurement to the online size chart on Osprey’s website and choose the right size. As long as you properly fit the pack and adjust the straps you should be completely fine to use this pack. ~Trevor
