Is there anything free at all? I am an independent researcher/writer and earn in poorly-valued currency; so, I cannot afford subscription-based AI writing/research tools (that require payment in $). Please suggest free tools without any catch. Thanks.
Hi there! You can try Paperpal, although the free version offers limited suggestions, we encourage you to make the most of it. Additionally, these suggestions refresh every month. Do give it a try and let us know your thoughts about it. Happy writing!
Absolutely agree with you! I am doing my PhD now and it frustrates me how expensive all the apps are (on top of all the other stuff we need to pay for). I usually subscribe for a free trial and then unsubscribe a day before they start charging me 😂 Anyway, good luck with everything!
Hi@@SilverICG ! You can sign up for free with Paperpal. The free version offers limited suggestions every month, and these suggestions refresh monthly. Make the most out of the free version!
Paper pal is shit. Seriously its “corrections” are laughably bad. Takes a sentence that makes sense and makes it incoherent. And it gives soooo many of these suggestions
I really like the possibility of being able to upload my articles in PDF and ask Jenni to use them as a reference for my work. But is there a way for Jenni to interact with all the uploaded articles at once? I am only able to extract information from articles if I use the individual Chat AI for each article.
You are a great professor who contributed to spread knowledge to the entire world. You believe that knowledge is for everyone. I respect you and I appreciate all your efforts.
No. Asking someone, such as a tutor, teacher, or even friend, to help edit your paper is not plagiarism. As long as the ideas and research are your own, you maintain authorship.
This is more for classroom research papers. The day these tools can write at the level of a Journal paper is the day we won’t need the researchers writing papers.
AIs are good at synthesizing evidence and summarizing information. They're not so good at the creative problem solving that stems from human subjective experience. Until AI can think just like a human, researchers are safe.
Hey Andy i love your content....the question i have for you is what is the best ai to create the optimal structure for your phd once youve written it...what i mean by that is an ai that takes the content and organizes it in the best possible way.
Hi there! Have you tried Paperpal's template feature? It could help you with your PhD thesis. With it, you can effortlessly structure your research article, craft your abstract, highlight key points, and much more. Give it a try today!
Hi Andy! It's truly an honor to have you considering Paperpal as best AI tool for academic and research writing. That's fantastic praise, and we truly appreciate it. As we're constantly working to improve Paperpal, your feedback is invaluable. We'd love to hear more about your experience, including any suggestions or areas you think we can enhance. We look forward to connecting with you and learning more! Best regards, Team Paperpal
You're correct. He didn't say best, but he did say favorite, which is an implied endorsement for best, considering that he mentions there are "so many" writing AIs. Further, Paperpal didn't say their product was the best, but instead, that he was considering it as the best. Nuance is critical for reading comprehension.
is there any tool that can detect if the text is written by human or generated by AI? Plus, it mentions possibly which AI tool was used to write that text?
From ChatGPT: Turnitin has been focusing on developing tools to identify AI-generated content as part of their broader mission to maintain academic integrity. They use advanced algorithms that can detect certain patterns and linguistic features typical of AI-generated text. These might include: 1. **Repetitive Patterns**: AI-generated text can sometimes include repetitive phrases or structures that aren't typical of human writing. 2. **Lack of Personal Voice**: AI text might lack the personal style or voice that characterizes human writing, making it easier to detect. 3. **Complexity and Errors**: While AI can generate complex sentences, it might also make nonsensical statements or grammatical errors that a human writer would not. 4. **Linguistic Anomalies**: Some AI-generated texts might have unusual word choices or sentence structures. The effectiveness of Turnitin's detection largely depends on the sophistication of the AI model used to generate the text. As AI models continue to improve, detection technologies must also evolve to keep up with these advancements. Turnitin and similar services regularly update their systems to enhance their ability to differentiate between human and AI-generated content.
@@Butchbrock Thanks for the details. Yes, turnitin has an AI detection tool. All AI detecting tools including Turnitin, do not have the ability to detect which AI tool was used to write that specific content. Yes, they may detect AI content, but they can not identify which AI tool (Chat GPT or any other tool) was used to create that content. I think ability to identify the source will be useful in future.
