So I can shoot TEN calibers from 1 platform. While I wouldn't use that particular shotgun for my main SHTF weapon, having this setup in a WROL/SHTF situation greatly increases your ability to survive & eat. All modern 12 gauge can use 2 3/4" shells but not all can handle 3" or 3.5" shells (semi-auto may differ, but most 12 ga shotties are pump or break-open). 7.62x39 is what you should stock up on due to the 5.45 rifles are pretty rare in North America. 7.62x39 can be used in AK variants and SKS rifles.

Even if properly stored in a humidity and temperature controlled environment, after 30 or 50 years a lot of those cartridges will be dud rounds, producing nothing more than a click when one pulls a trigger. Likewise some powders also age poorly and chamber pressures and bullet velocities may not be as they were when the ammo was new. Buried in a damp bunker in the woods somewhere is not humidity and temperature controlled and the rate of misfires and poor performance will of course be even higher.
