I went to Bass Pro Shop this morning, I couldn’t find any of the combos you had mentioned, the cheapest one I saw was $170, sorry, that’s not going to happen, especially right now plus if I can’t figure out how to use it, it would be quite a waste. Please, keep the videos coming. Not only entertaining but informative as well.
American hero was my first baitcaster I bought, I loved it, I bought it at Dicks sporting goods for $79.99, I used it for a couple of weeks till I did a one handed cast and it flew out of my hand and landed in the water. I was on a bridge so I couldn’t get it back. Thanks for your service and keep up with the great videos bud....
I have a Custom XP and that is my absolute go to, 17lb flouro and I do everything with it. Lews is the absolute best for high dollar and budget fishing.
Fellow vet from Ohio here brother. Just picked up one of these combos on my visit to Bradenton florida, landed a 5lb largemouth on it to top the evenin off. Caught well over 30lbson this combo and the only complaint I have, is the thumb clicker disengaging mid cast. Didn’t happen a lot but sure was frustrating untangling a whole spool of 50lb braid.
I love my American Hero so much (the 7' black and blue model) that I bought another reel off Facebook Marketplace, then my AH rod tip got smashed in the SUV door jam, so now both my AH reels are on Hank Parker Lews rods. I love them! Scale of 1-10, 7.75
My advice is too turn the dial on the side of the reel at 10 or whatever the highest tightness is then use the knob next too the handles to make your bait lower slowly without it stopping then after a month or two after your comfortable then mess with the dial too he likes.
In terms of bait casters I prefer Abu’s reels over lews, but I used my buddies American hero spinning combo before and it felt wonderful. Made me go out and by a Lews XP speed spin a few days later.

i have been eyeing this combo myself for a while as the first entry into bass fishing, but i am left handed so i hope whoever wins it enjoys it and this is just one more reaosn for me to pick it up
i own a lews american hero baitcaster combo, i love the one i have, the rod is 6’ 6” rod, i know the rod combo i have can handle almost any fishing, the rod has caught more catfish than what i have attended to use it for bass buthey at least i know if it comes down to it then i know what the rod is capable of, the reel is also smooth as well
I bought an American hero yesterday and went fishing today caught the first two fish for that rod and reel combo today first fish was on a rattle trap and the second was on a red and white spinner bait

Was looking at them at Cabelas. Like the reel but wanted to do some research on it. After not fishing for an extended time, retired and now getting back into fishing. After watching you video a realize this would be a great choice. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for your service sir! When my brother wanted to get into fishing the first rod I went for was the black and blue American hero spinning setup. To this day he still uses this rod.
Love the camp pattern on the cap. I mean the digital looks cool on the reel but it really would look awesome with the same as on the cap. Thanks for the awesome content
the American hero was my second and third lews combos after my mach 1 got stolen. Originally bought the black and blue one for 79 dollars then later bought the camo version later on.
I love that pole. I have one myself. But went on a fishing trip with it. Loaded it in the car in one piece. Pulled it out when I got home and it was snapped all the way at the bottom just above the grip. I was pissed. Great rod tho
