My favorite setup is my Daiwa Laguna baitcaster ($40 on sale) paired with my 7' mh ugly stik. $60 reg price. For a spinning setup I don't have any experience with newer reels . I'm 53 years old and primarily still fish with the 1st reel my father ever bought me back in 1980 or so. A Mitchell 300A. No need for anything else. It has been mounted on a ton of different rods though. My fav spinning rod on a budget atm is my Berkley lightning rod shock. Very hard to find anything better. Peace and tight lines!

Could just be because i purchased from walmart but i was so upset cuz i did really like the feel of it. I was use 12 pound fluro threw brush and tip snapped real easy

I love me some Berkley Cherrywood medium heavy bait caster rod's. For the money. They are realy good. Only other would be a Ugly Stick GX2 Baitcaster rod.and a Quantum Pulse Bait caster reel. Great combo! Shawn.
Like my pro max reel over both of my lews reels (mark rose and carbon blue gt). Never used the pro max rod, paired my pro max with Abu garcia vengeance 7 ft med heavy rod that I got on clearance for 25 bucks at wal mart. I spent 60 on the reel. Best 85 bucks I ever spent! Love them both, bigtime! Honestly though, it's really hard to beat the black max combo,especially if you can catch it on sale for 50 bucks like I did. Think they're 60 right now at my wal mart. Bought one for my son but 2 years ago and was so impressed that I went and got myself one. We both have used them a lot (at least twice a week on average) and I have got my pb at 9lbs 11ounces and also his at little over 7 pounds and they both perform almost as the day they were bought. I actually like the black max combo better than both my lews and my silver max combo. Black max is the best bang for your buck in my opinion
I picked uo my first combo at walmart! For 59 plus tax i got the lews hank parker 6'6 mh combo and it blew all expectations outta the water. Snapped the rod tip in my front door hustling to the honey hole😭😭😭😭😭 but the reel is solid as hell, its on my swimbait setup and hasnt let me down
Go to Wal-Mart and buy the tip repair kit. Where they sale accessories. There is three different tips. Then use super glue to put it on. I broke the tip off my Berkely Cherry wood medium heavy rod. Fixed it in 5 minutes. Worth every cent. Shawn
Picked up the lews carbon blue gt July, '18. Solid rod for the money, but the brakes on the reel failed by November. Lews explained that they have seen a failure to deploy in these reels and sent me a brand new palming side plate and cast control cap assembly free of charge. All good ever since, no complaints.

Lews Xfinity baitcaster is nice and smooth. Hunter orange and white with black.. Very vivid and you won't loose it that's for sure. Wal-Mart's... $98.00 they have a matching open face for $68.00 of ya want the matching pair 😆
My Academy has the 13 Fishing Chrome Fate for $139.99. I bought the 8.1:1 combo and dang it I love it. But I am still a huge fan of Lew’s and always will be. The Bass Pro Shops Johnny Morris stuff is awesome too cause it’s made by Lew’s. Great vidja brotha🙌

lews american hero with a shimono casitas 🤩 you cant beat that it was my favorite combo that i made it was super good on casting anything and i threw everything on it from a frog too a senko i recommend (the old rod tho)

I had a promax and I did not like it at all. It worked for a solid 3.5-4 months and I started having problems. The pinion springs gave out, the gears started to grind a little, and the release button would not click back when I move the handle
How about the Black max rod and reel combo I beleef it is the best beginners long lasting rod and reel combo. That's only my opinion but just wanted to give you my opinion. Love your vid BTW.
I just got my second baitcasting combo I bought the abu Garcia pro max low profile for ($80) then I bought the ugly stik gx2 for ($40) I love ugly stik will always stik with them (😁 see what I did there) and my pro max has been an amazing reel so far very durable
I just bought an Abu Garcia Black Max today and I didnt go fishing with it yet but I cant wait to mainly because it is my first baitcaster. From the little but of messing around with it that I did, it doesnt seem bad at all for a $60 combo

U need to do another best spinning reels under $100 Fell like more people use spinning reels I have tried a baitcaster I don’t have the Patients to use 1 went fishing and spent more time untangling my line or putting new line on then I did fishing it’s annoying I have never once tangled my line on a spinning reel
im on disability with a very limited buget so i get my fishing equipment from walmart. the rods i have been buying are the 7' shakespeare excursion. it is a med/ heavy. have you ever tried them and what do you think of them. they are$19.99. that is were i am also forced to buy my reels and lures. but it is the love of fishing that keeps me going
I purchase the lews American hero last summer for a starter combo since I dont have the baitcaster knowledge it’s been a really good starter rod cast out really far with spoons and top water lures now soft plastics I’m still working on can’t get as far overall great buy sense I only fish saltwater and brackish waters
Nothing at all wrong with expensive fishing gear. I mean if you can afford it without it putting you in a financial jam then why not.. But I agree with you.. I’m the type that would rather spend my money on a good quality budget setup. I have some combos that are good quality name brand combos for around $100 bucks. They look, feel, cast just as good as some of my high end stuff. In my opinion buying it this way leaves me a little extra cash for buying more tackle 😂👍🏻
@@FishingWithYakPak Gerald Swindle says anything over 7 to 1 to 1 is a waste of money. If you go to high. You lose torque on reeling in fish. My Quantum ACCURIST PT S3 baitcaster reel is 7 to 1 to 1 is as high as I will go on a baitcaster reel. Shawn
I actually searched this, Ive been fishing over 40yrs & I believe your average fisherman is gonna spend less than $100 per combo. I know there are great rods for $40 out there & great reels for $40-$45 🤷♂️
I just picked up the Abu Garcia Ultra Max combo at Dicks for $45 on sale. So far, it’s been a great combo and one I would like to hear your thoughts on.
Lovin you’re channel bro. I own the black max combo and which is my first bait cast combo and I’ve caught couple fish on it. I also own the Revo x bait castor and is definitely worth $99.
Spinning rods are a lot more “beginner friendly”.They are easy to cast and you can’t really mess it up. Bait casters are used for more intermediate to pro fisherman. When you get into using certain rods to throw certain lures. you can bird nest them and it’s a pain to undo. Try both first but I’d recommend getting a cheap spinning rod then seeing if you like bait casters or spinning rods and either moving to a more expensive spinning rod or a bait caster.
Andrew Jernigan yeah basically it’s just a preference thing you can use any type of line on any type of rod just make sure the rod can handle the test of the line I would get a medium heavy fast action 6’8 to 7’1 and you can throw basically any lure
Andrew Jernigan no the spinning rods hold the line on the bottom while bait casters hold there’s on the top there is also a trigger like grip on bait casting rods
hey man I know u have done this video its been a while I cant find it. but im a rookie on bait caster reels and im about to get one. would u sometimes do a video on like how to set the braking system and tension on it for a beginner to keep backlashes from happening

You guys need to review budget lines .... braid mono flora , there is so much energy wasted , fill the people in ..... some lines are close to the combos your fishing , can a cheep rod be used with cheep line 🤷🏻♂️ you guys tell us !
I gotta vote for 13 fishing. $109 for that combo is money well spent. One of my nicest combos but less than 1/3 of the price of my favorite / best combo.

I was looking at the lews Xfinity combo at Walmart today it was like 50$ super cheap for what it is. I got a Abu Black max baitcaster with a Abu Garcia vengeance rod it came out to around 110$.
My other two thumbnails were grainy & really dark so I had to use this one. I always take screenshots form inside the video for my thumbs, just so happened the two I took specifically for a thumb were un-usable
