With a round face shape, you want the beard to give the illusion of definition, especially around the jaw line and under the cheekbones. Good styles for this would be the full beard since it emphasizes the shadow under the cheekbones and the length hides the jawline a bit or the shorter full face stubble. Essentially, you're using the facial hair in a similar way to contouring in makeup. It can be helpful to look up guide images on how to contour round faces with makeup (yes you'll most get suggestions for women since it's makeup, but face shapes are universal) to get an idea of the places you want to give the illusion of shadow. Where you want shadow is where you face hair. From there, you can do some digging into different beard styles for stuff like length.

A closer-cut beard will give the illusion that your face is slimmer. The way you grow and trim your beard matters more than face shape. Its already hard enough to grow a beard for asians, just trying to grow as much as possible is the hardest part. Making it look clean is easy, just make sure your beard aint looking like pubes

Its funny how he mentions beard density and hair type last as a side note. When its literally the whole reason the original example looked but. It had nothibg to do with the face shape. Yes maybe he could make a certain beardstyle work better than the disaster in the picture. But that other beardstyles aren't even an option is not because of his hair type but because he has shitty beard growth.
