Glad I found your channel. New to AZ and haven’t figured out the fishing here yet. You’re the only one I see slaying big bass. Inspirational! I guess I need to get into swimbaits.
I know you might not see this but my name is Matthew Hayes and im want to get started swimbait fishing for trophy bass and i need a little guidance like some affordable rod and reels for swimbait fishing and some good baits maybe glide baits, wakebaits, and plastic swibaits.Keep up the good work and your channel inspired me to start swimbait fishing thank you for everything.
Nice Video dude. I have the Lamiglas X-11 also with a Cardiff 400 on it and 20lb Izor. I use it for my 6 inch Hudds, 8 inch Triple Trouts, M.S. Slammer Mini and Smaller A-Rigs. Everything Else like 8 inch Huddleston and 9 Inch M.S. Slammer I throw on G-Loomis GL2 966 with Daiwa Luna 300's. 20lb Izor.
Great. Took the suggestion from Southern Trout Eaters. Great backbone and just enough forgiveness. And the Luna is a sweet reel. Excellent pairing. Keep up the great work with your channel. I enjoy watching.
I’m starting to get into some bigger swim baits between 2-5 oz. Which would be the best rod Orochi XX Leviathan or the Gan Craft Dead Sword Magnum to fish this size bait. Glides and the 8” magdraft? Thanks. I love the Hook Up Tackle. I watch some content of some sort everyday. It made me a JDM junkie.
Good videos man I really like them, I’m just starting to throw swim baits I have a really cheap set up but I’m only throwing up to 5 inch at the moment I’m planning on stepping it up very soon, I live in south jersey n I have never seen anyone throw a big swim bait for bass but we have striper running soon
Hi There. Great video. Lots of information. However I have a few questions. I 'm just starting to throw swimbait (DEPS 250) and I'm looking for swimbait rods no longer than 7'9". Do you have any that you would recommend? I'm looking at the Dobyns, I-Rod, Okuma, Ardent Deny Brauer's 7'6". What would be beefy enough to load the DEPS 250 and cast it well? Any thing from 7'4" to 7'9" for about $120 max? Much appreciated. Thank you.
You ever get a chance to come down south hit me up! I swear Oklahoma lakes look like Cali lakes. Just not as big! I just moved here from east Texas way different but they are smashing my 30acre dirty shad! Love that bait!
Great vid. Have you found that the lamiglas rod seat is bigger than normal. I have the 8' pared up with abu c3 but I will not tighten down on the reel stand.
What's up bud . You have some awesome videos and inspired me to get a swimbait rod . I'm looking at a irod genesis IRG804SB-H rod I believe it's 8 foot 3-10 oz line 20-30 line 60-80 braid pairing it with my Cardiff 400 . Throwing BBZ 1 8 inch trouts and some custom 8-10 inch trouts ? Looking for a good solid rod that I can throw a variety of swimbaits . What are your thoughts?
Recently got in to bigswim bait fishing I’ve been wanted to since I was a lil kid!! And love watching your videos. Just recently bought newer okuma guide select XH swimbait rod it says I can cast lure up to 10oz you think it will handle hinkle trout or any other 9oz class swimbaits??
I am looking for a swimbait rod with ALOT of tip but a good amount of backbone I have a $200 top so if you could get back to me with a couple of suggestions I would like that. Thanks for the tips bro.
I liked and subscribe but I have a question I have a budget of 50 Australian dollar and I want to throw bait from 1-4 ounce baits. What is a good all round swim bait rod? Thank you tight lines.
Hey I’m new to throwing big swinbaits and I was wondering if the abu Garcia maxtoro would be able to support a Roman made mother ,hinkle trout, depths 250 or a drt clash ghost
I just got a used Calcutta d 401. (I have giant hands 400s are comfy) I'm trying to put together a decent Swiss army swimbait setup. What's a good rod I can pair this with to fish a good variety of baits? Dobyns 806? Daiwa 3-10oz swimbait rod?
Hey I just found your channel and I really like it! I have a question. I am wanting to throw 1-2 oz swimbaits, so will I need a swimbait rod that is really meant for swim baiting or just a plain heavy power rod?
What gear ratio would you recommend if you had one swimbait rod for 1-5 oz glide and soft swimbaits? For example I have a couple 6 and 8 inch hudds, an s-waver and a duel hardcore ninja. I'm leaning towards the lexa 300 but don't know what gear ratio. Let me know what you think when you get the chance. Thanks!
Could you just use abnormal heavy rod or is it best to get a swimbait rod I just bought a Huddleston bluegill and 8in trout but I don't want to spend $200 on a rod for something I don't do too often.
If you have like an a rig rod or a heavy pitching rod, you can get away with throwing the 8' hudd on it. The bluegill is small enough to where you can just throw it on just a md hvy rod.
Where do you find all of the bigger swimbaits? I want to get a few but the only one that I can find that is sort of rare is the suicide glide or the mother
I picked up a Dobyns 796 (2-8oz) for the 8" Hudds. I believe your Okuma is 2-10oz. Do you think there would be a large difference? I almost went with the Okuma but the price for the dobyns was too good.
The dobyns is a great rod. I hear most people will use the 806 or even the 807 for hudds. The okuma is nice as well. If you can always find a dobyns at a great price, get it.
Tacklewarehouse still has the 796 for $180. Planning to pick up an Okuma H for the 2-3oz baits. Should be a much better time than throwing baits on a 9' Penn Battle 6000 combo. Although it was a great way to start on a budget.
quick question...whats the difference between the cardiff (or any reel for that matter) 300 and the 400...i imagine its size..but other than that..what else?
crazybassfisher another question haha... on the cardiff...can you hear the drag clicks when adjusting it? or is it silent? i just got mine in and when adjusting drag i cant hear any clicks like other reels.
Nice informative vid, keep up the good work, waiting to hear back from you and Phoenix about products sent, Let me know, been contacting you guys on Instagram
