Forgot to mention that these headphones are compatible with Sennheiser's Captune app which can be found on the Apple Store and the Google Play store. This allows you to have many EQ settings and you can change these to sound however you like. Although I preferred the sound right out of the box
I bought JBL e55BT It sucks so bad Trust me do NOT BUY.... NO bass present at all.. You need to hold it in like as if pressing in your ears to get that Bass.. Seinheiser hd4.40 BT going to get now
NITIN DANIEL I bought the Sennheiser and I really like it. I am not a bass head so maybe if you're one you could find it lacking some bass but for me I like when everything is present. I found it uncomfortable at first until I watched a two hour continuous movie without stopping which made it better. It's quality is good better than you'd see in videos. Great sound. When I go back to my old headphones I feel the huge difference
So which seinnheiser u buy ?? If u bought mine which is hd4.40 BT its good i mean really good but the only problem is that when u go in trains or travel it doesnt have noise cancellation (higher version has in 4.50 ) Hence youd suffer to hear that little thump or bass at all. My mistake i think i should have gone for skull candy crusher as tthat has enormous BASSsSS.
My 15 year old Technics DJ1210's had the left ear piece die on me the other day. May the rest in peace. Bought a pair of these to replace them and I am loving them.
Thanks for the review. I tried them today together with 4.50 and the SONY MDR1000X. (just for my curiosity). 4.40 blew BOTH of them away. The Sony is indeed amazing when it comes to NC, but the music is meh. Now between the 4.40 and 4.50, I was expecting similar sound signature and was very surprised. 4.50 is like my HD 600 (Sennheiser), a bit dark and laid back. The 4.40 is more 'alive' and seems to have better separation. Given it is also cheaper, it is a no brainer for me.
Dude are you sure that they sound better than sony mdr1000x ? Your phone is not an iphone then , because these headphones only support aptx codec which is on android and not aac codec in iphones . I have iphone 8 plus and these headphones don't sound so good with it but it sounds good with my sister's s8 . On the other hand sony headphones support aac and aptx so they sound very good on any phone :)
You convinced me to keep mine, you're right, for certain types of music the bass in the 4.40's is great. Perfect balance for Jazz and Hip-hop. Prior to this model, my favorites where the Bose QC25 and (the ones I use the most) the Sennheiser 598c. I think the Sennheiser BT 4.40 is going to be a great addition (and my only wireless) to my headphone collection. I also use the Astro A50's, but that's only for gaming, I wanted a wireless set for everyday music and movie listening.
they are good for jazz? I really wanted to know that. I mostly listen to fusion/prog not eletronic stuff so the soung might be different. if you got any insight on sound quality of these would be great.
Awesome review, thanks for going into detail about every aspect! I got my pair a week ago and I love the sound. I will say though that the beeping when you do anything is a bit much. I use them on my iPhone XS, and even going to the recently opened screen they beep. Every level in volume they increase or decrease they beep. If a video stops, starts, or buffers they beep. That’s the one thing from making these perfect, but overall very good headphones

went into my local currys store today as wanted a new set of cans, tried around 6 pairs of headphones including the skullcandy crushers (I HATED them) and hesh 3 (hated them as well lol) and ended up walking out with these...at first I thought maybe these had a little too much bass for Sennheiser headphones but after trying skrillex, beastie boys (shes crafty) and a few other songs I started to really LOVE the sound, the 4.40s DO have quite a bit of bass but its not muddy and the music I tried all sounded great, the 2 skullcandy headphones I tried sounded like a muffled mess compared to these (well to my ears anyway) the sound with these is pleasing overall and they have great soundstage, the bass on the bestie boys track (shes crafty) sounds punchy as hell with these without a hint of being overpowering or muffled, I think I prefer my old Sennheiser momentum headphones for overall sound but they cost A LOT more money, for the price, I don't think you can beat these headphones
Great review man, detailed and descriptive and covered everything without rushing it. Informative AF. Definitely pushed me over the edge in order to buy them as a gift as I own the 4.30
Had mine delivered yesterday and so far I'm incredibly impressed and I'm not easily wowed. Went though a pair of Audio Technica, JBL, Bose and Bluedio in the last two weeks trying to find something that clicked with me and was perfect for my needs
i am picky as well and like you it is hard for me to be happy without nitpicking. i have to say, for the price of these they are great....and very hard to beat
Agreed. Also you forgot to add how uncomfortable these are for longer listening periods. I’m talking literally over 30mins and your ears start to bleed cos of the clamping force and supposedly “over ear” but for most on ear design
Just purchased a day ago. Simply awesome at price of $83 in India. Cant expect this quality in any other popular brand. By the way, after connecting the 3.5mm audio jack, it sounds more clear and bass heavy than wireless mode. Locking mechanism like audio technica. Impressive.
You seem to be really biased towards liking everything about these because of how you loved the 4.30. As I own them as well I think there are definitely better headphones for the price right now. You also didnt mention how the earcups are skinny as hell and those with bigger ears will find them uncomfortable after a while. Im glad youre very passionate about them but you need to be giving accurate reviews if you're a review channel.
Dude, you are by far the best reviewer on RU-vid! Every headphone you get and review as good I want them lmao, I am currently using Skullcandy Crusher Wireless and your review sealed the deal on me getting them. By far the best headphones I own at the moment. And I am building quite the collection so far haha. I do have a question though. Considering the price tag of the Crusher Wireless, I'm always wary of bringing them to school or most places with me. My favourite music genre is dubstep so you can guess I love bass, like a lot, so the question is, what headphones would you recommend that have good bass, but have a relatively cheap price tag? Keep up the good work!
thanks so much. good to know someone else share the same headphone addiction that I have. you can find the original wired Crusher pretty cheap on eBay (usually under $35) or the Sennheiser 4.30 have incredible bass for $99. if you want wireless you can find the Sony MDRXB650BT and the 950BT pretty cheap on eBay as well
@TheRazorStyle Ikr? Same for me except one of his first reviews that I watched from him (which got me into his channel) was his take on the Sony XB950BTs, and he helped me to make my decision on getting those.
I have V-Moda Bluetooth headphones and they sound Great. I tested out a sen headphones that were the best sounding headphones I've ever heard but I don't think they were Bluetooth. They were around $550 bucks or $600 a year ago. I needed blu tooth so I went with v mods and they have been amazing.
perfect way of reviewing these type of products, even though the company didn't put all the details about the item them self, you got to bring them up your self. Good detail you got out of it by trying them your self.
I bought these a couple of weeks ago and wasn't impressed in the least. The mids are a bit muffled, the highs get tinny when I increase the volume, the bass is alright but gets muddy when I try to crank it up. Overall, to me it sounds similar to the Sony xb950bt at medium volume but without the powerful bass. When a lot of instruments start playing at the same time it's a jumbled mess. The holes on the earpads are tiny (2 knuckles wide) and I have to squish my ears in there even though I don't even have big ears, which results in my getting ear fatigue after wearing them for a while.
This is exactly how i felt when i heard hd 4.40. Did not like it at all. Very muddy sound. Hoping that these should be faulty items because i have ordered HD 4.50. I did not like the comfort. They are hurting around my ears. sony xb950 were slightly better in sound and a lot more in comfort. Just hoping that HD 4.50 doesn't have this issues.
@sann jay Yeah, I've decided to put mine up for sale. Gonna wait for the 950n1 (950bt with anc) and see how it is. Or else I'll just grit my teeth and shell out extra for B&W P7 wireless.
You should check out the alpine sv-h300uw headphones, I just got these and they are incredible! Definitely my new favorite for bass especially! It's amazing what they've done
Gamesky yeah they are great honestly the best headphones I've tried for the price right now. Honestly since you're a basshead too I think they'll be your new favorite. I was blown away by them
And I've just bought the HD4.40 BT NC Headphones from Amazon and boy, what a purchase it was. They're GREAT. ESPECIALLY IF YOU CONSIDER THE PRICE I PAID. UNDER £85.00. hmmmm.
@@MauricioHernandezVeg I dont know for sure.. normally they would be in my hands but there is some delay since coronovirus and stuff.. 😊 lets hope they would arrive soon
Great review! Picking up a pair of these tomorrow, as they're currently on sale for $99 and I really don't like the bass performance of my current MDR-1000X's.
Seen them on Amazon recommended and i was kind of surprised that this had no thumps up for what it delivers. I've got sennheiser urbanite xl wireless and i love them but believe it or not, i have the tendency to go for sennheiser every time i decide to buy an earbud or headset. Sennheiser is just perfect and if you can review my favorite headphone which Sennheiser urbanite xl that would be awesome. Keep the good work. 👌👌👌👏👏👏
I have definitely got to where I lean towards Sennheiser as well. They keep putting out great products and just like these.....they are not trying to charge and arm and a leg. I may do a review of the Urbanite XL wireless one day
I ordered these headphones after watching some reviews. when i received them, i tried them on for about 5 mins max, put them back in the box and sent them back. Pretty much every point concerning the sound in your review has been false in my experience, they sound horrible. Treble and mids are pretty much the same quality you get on your phone speaker, harsh and thin. There's no sub-bass whatsoever and the bass is soooo damn loose, it feels almost like they added reverb to it. There's no imaging, even worse than audio-technica M50x's ( no hate, i own a pair and i use them exclusively for playing music and mixing and i love them for that reason) there's so little imaging i had to verify i was plugged in correctly in case they were playing in mono. Other than sound, everything feels cheap from the buttons to the voice prompts. i had better quality for way less money. After getting my money back, i ordered Soundcore's Liberty 2 pro for when i want wireless and i went for Beyerdynamic's DT770 pro for casual music listening which pair perfectly with my m50x. It's simple, Fuck these cans cause they sound exactly like ''cans'' and your ears deserve better. If i can recommend a better option, go for Kz's zs10 pro, they will shatter your teeth and blow your mind for the price and while you're at it add a USB-C DAC, thank me later.
Bradley Chiduku I'm taking back the crushers wireless tomorrow. The bass sounds trash and artificial. Not authentic bass. The springs inside the headphones are annoying. I'm very disappointed i bought them due to his recommendation as well
Kyle Craven that's what I heard someone say. I don't know how true that is. Hope Gamesky can shed some light on that one. Still hear a lot of good things about them tho
edrei pratt apparently the bass is really good. My only issue is the lag I've heard about. But sound wise I've heard some great things about the Crusher wireless.
these are better than the Crusher wireless in overall sound. they don't have the rattle your head bass that the Crusher has but they do have better mids and treble. I never noticed any lag with my Crushers so I am not sure about that.
Good review. Please try the bluedio vinyl plus. It's simply the best sounding Bluetooth headphone ever. I've tried many headphones from vmoda m 100, denon ad2000, Fidelio x1, beats solo 2, Nad Viso Hp50, etc.
Great review Gamesky! I have been looking for a great pair of headphones for under $200 for the past week now and its nice to see someone covering all of the bases in a review! When is the 4.50 BT review coming?
Please compare these with skullcandy wireless and do sound tests with music and movies. it would be amazing as I'm trying to decide what ones to get. keep up the awesome reviews 😊
Hi, great review as always. I'm close to buying my own bluetooth headset and I'm down to the Sennheiser 4.40BT and the Sony MDR950BT. Any thoughts on the two? Also, what can you say about the Sony 650BT? Thanks, ang keep up the good job.
now its worth the wait. 😊 i almost decided to get the skull's crusher, big thanks to my man 'gamesky' happy subscriber here 🙏 just uploaded an hour or two. Wow good things happen when you have patience 😀 hands down to sennheiser, really pushing their cans on competition. I hope you can send me one those 🙌 but i know how u love those. Anyways great vids 👍 congrats...
thanks. these definitely give all the other bluetooth bass headphones a run for their money. to have the bass these have and the clarity and only be $150....it's crazy
don't give a shit if it's real/authentic or artificial or haptic bass or not...the skullcandy crushers wireless are still my fav bass headphones... they are the most fun headphones ever for me
I got them as a birthday prezzie! They are my daily driver now!~ Good Bass with clean mid ftw! The down side of it could be warm on the ear during prolong use.
I'm curious. You've been doing a ton of headphone reviews now, and I'm curious how you rank these headphones now compared to when you reviewed them. Just curious.
I remember buying these awhile ago, and after 4hrs of listening I packed them right back up and sent them back. Weren’t the Sennheiser quality I’ve known them for.
great review man. I just have a request. is it possible for you to do a audio test/bass test of the HD 4.40? i am considering these headphones and i have seen practically all videos on these and i get alot of mixed responses from different reviewers and i just want to actually have a sense of what they sound like because I've read people say they dont have bass, people say they dont get loud, people say the volume dont get low enough which honestly doesnt make any sense to me, some even said the bass response is not good for rap and hip-hop genres. if you csn clear the air for me and potentially many other viewers that would be much appreciated.
Try them in store. There is plenty of bass and I listen mainly to bass heavy hip-hop and these are perfect tried in store and ordered online that same day.
I previously bought a pair of Over Ear Sennheiser Momentum 1.0s. I was wondering if the inside of the earcup is bigger on the 4.40s? The momentum over ears felt more like an on-ear headphone and I don't want that experience again.
Great review. I'm going to try these. I been begging every reviewer to compare the Sony xb950bt and the h.ear on in long term comfort and sound quality. One question : The long term comfort is great? Is it close to long term comfort with the Bose?
Great review! I like the price compared to the Bose equivalents. Would be nice to have BT headphones that put out great sound just for listening to music with. Do they come with a BT transmitter or do you have to get one separately? The point about canceling out almost all the noise without getting actual noise canceling is even better.
I got these as birthday present for my sister and i tried them on and really liked them . But are these better than Sony XB950B1? Since I want to get my own
Hi, great review! Could you please review the Bohm B76 Active noise canceling, I am hesitating to get them but did not find a lot of reviews yet. Thanks in advance!!
thanks. i absolutely love these headphones and highly recommend them. I am still waiting on my 4.50 to come in but the 4.40 are going to be heard to beat
Hey Gamesky. I love to play video games and listen to alot of rock/metal. With these also having a cord with a 3.5 jack that should be able to be used for gaming on xbox one x right ?? If so I think these are perfect.
Thanks for great video and advice ! Please, ( sorry for disturbing you ) how is clarity and strong in bluetooth phone calls, for the both side ? Is it mic strong enough ? Please answer if you want, I need your advice and opinion. Best regards and wishes and thanks ! 🍺🏆👍
Very well-made review, thank you! One question - what sources have you tried these on? I mean devices - smartphone/computer/amp and which ones? Thanks again! :)
thanks so much. I used these on a Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone 6 plus and on my PC wirelessly. I didn't even bother with an amp due to these already having their own amplified sound from the headphones themself
I have a hard time choosing between Sennheiser 4.40BT or the Sony xb950b1 any advice? Also the skullcandy crusher wireless but with the skullcandy crusher I have the feeling the sound quality is not balanced.
Can you use these as a gaming headset? The mic on my 4.40 doesnt work while gaming for some reason.. Also the power button has the worst quality ever, it gets stuck all the time.
Great videos keep it up!!! Everyone on youtube always raves about the sony bt950 and new sony 950n1. I finally decided to give the bt950 a try and was extremely disappointed! Do these Sennheiser have a similar sound to the sony? I felt like the sony were too muddy, no clarity or separation. I'm a big a fan of the Sennheiser sound I currently own the hd650, hd598 and the ie80 to give you and idea of my sound taste.
How to activate siri when I pair them up with my iPhone. I can't find any instruction on the manual about that. I wish I could interact with my phone while wearing it Please help!! Thank you!!!
Yo Gamesky your review is awesome. I think I'm getting these first before the crushers. With your recommendation I got my parrot zik today & they are awesome. I got em for a ridiculous price because they don't work to well wired but flawless Bluetooth. The other thing is it didn't come with the battery cover. I've been looking every where for em to no avail. If you or anybody you know or anyone out there have a battery cover I'll gladly pay for em thanks!
greg cabig i will keep an eye out for a cover. the Parrot Ziks are amazing. especially for what you can find them for. these Sennheisers are hard to beat as well. I'm having the 4.50 shipped to me next.
I don’t know if mines broken or sth. THERE IS NO BASS. it’s trebly af and it’s making squeaky kinda noise whenever there is a high audio idk what that is called. I am so bummed. I can’t even return it since I ordered it online from another country 😭😭😭😭
How do these compare to hd 4.3 (wired) as regards sound quality? Since, I use my headphones wired all the time, which pair (wired/wireless) would you recommend me under $80 (it could be some that you have not talked about in this video)?
Great Review! One question, so if you are using it as wired, the quality gets better? so it becomes just like if you had a HD 4.30 or it has better sound quality? Thanks!
So I got them earlier today. As expected, excellent sound balance from Sennheiser. That set plugged in the PS4 controller is a pretty good upgrade from my Sony gold headset. Like you said in your 4.30 video, the bass is fantastic for the sounds effects; it got just the right amount of ''oomph'' to it and overall sound quality delivery is stellar. Is it me or they sound better on bluetooth ? For some reason wired on my galaxy S7, I don't know there seems to be a very slight decrease of fullness to the sound ..!? The only minor con I find is the fact that the space in earcup for you ears could be about half an inch wider because it is very narrow. But otherwise, this is equivalent (or better) than Bose and cheaper
Alex Martinelli oh dont worry I suspect That the built in sennheiser amp is better and thats why . though I have the non US S7 which have better specs for sound if i read correctly which is why I Guess the difference is marginal
I have the PXC 450 which i bought for $350 which i think are discontinued that I love that recently broke on me. How does the sound compare to that. I don't want to spend that much on headphones again :/
Got this headphones couple of month ago based on couple of reviews, including this one. The sound is great and clear, but the bass on this headphones is not what this guy is talking about. Comparing to in-ear wired Sennheiser I had before this one, I would call this one no bass. I don't like this one.
Please help me here. This one or Sony MDR-XB950B1 or JBL E55BT, or Treblab z2? Or is there any other best option for wirless headphones under $100? @Gamesky
