Hi Nick! Thanks for the nice review. I'm looking for my next Wireless Headphones. The point of comparison is the MDRXB950BT. I'm looking for something better than that, I mean, moving to the next step. I actually love the bass of that headphones, but I want a more balance model without leaving that special vibration feel that Sony reach with that headphones. So, the question is: Do you recommend this model, the Urbanite XL Wireless or have another model in mind?

I got them, they are really good, and their sound is really mature. I listen to rock, pop, classic music and eletronic music, and the sound is perfect, as I can feel all the sounds and the bass is just on point and in harmony with all the other instruments. They have been my travel companions, the earcups are really good at sealing external noises, so they help to not hear the airplane noise (including crying babies on board). I have used them more recently for Video conferences and Zoom calls, also for gaming and they simply never let me down. I can't be happier with them, considering they are very affordable.

Great review! Do you think the noise cancelling in the 4.50 headphones is worth the extra 50 bucks? Or do the 4.40s do a good job of blocking out sound on their own?

Hi Adam, I haven't tried the 4.50, so I can't say how good the noise cancellation is. I have tried many other pairs of noise cancelling headphones though, and I personally don't think it's a feature I need. If you frequently use these in the public, then it may be worth it. These block noise very well on their own since the earpads fit so snugly.

Hey Nick! Thanks for the review! I have purchased this pair of headphones, and I get a constant "hissing" sound (pretty noticeable volume) when a track is played, and also a very little hiss when nothing is played, just the headphone is turned on. Do you happen to notice this also or my pair just faulty or it is standard with every BT headphones? Thanks!

I don't have such a sound even when using them via Bluetooth. There is a very tiny, almost unnoticeable (it's just too low, too too low) hissing sound when something is playing but when there is nothing playing, it is perfectly silent. I would suggest you visit the Sennheiser service centre or ask for a replacement.

Still using them. Lack of noise cancellation is a problem. Also as time goes buy the volume control buttons start to malfunction. Build quality is excellent. Carrying pouch protects against scratches. Issue with ear sizes. They get warm after a while. Recharges fast.

@Nick Capaccio Did anyone face drop connection issue while connecting? It repeatedly keeps disconnecting from my laptop. If I try after 10-15 second it connects. I have used other Bluetooth headphones in the same way. I didn't face this issue till now with those headphone. Seems like something is wrong with this headphone. I have tried reset bluetooth connection and paired again. still no luck. Anyone has faced this issue?

The Sony Mdrxb950bt are more comfortable in my opinion but if you have small ears and don't mind the small oval cushions, then they are very similar in comfort.

I'm still using these in 2020, they are fantastic headphones imo. They sound even better if you wire them in. I bought this a few years back over a 200-$300 range headphones because my thought was "why am I going to TRAVEL in public with headphones that cost as much as a graphics card or game console?" - I only paid $100 for these things too.

Hi Junve, I just posted a comparison of these and the Skullcandy Crusher Wireless. I would recommend you check out the Skullcandy Crusher wireless and give them a listen, they have better bass, better battery life, and fit my ears better. I'd also pick the Skullcandy Crusher Wireless over the Sony MDRXB950BT as well.

I purchased the HD4.40 headphones recently. Paired to my iphone 7, the headphones beep with every single click of the volume button and beep between songs and when i select a song! Is anyone else also experiencing this with their headphones?

Hey, guys! I bought these a while ago and have to say they're extremely comfy and great value for the money. However, I am experiencing an issue when they're wireless - the volume is significantly lower when everything is maxed out. When I plug them in, the sound volume jumps up a lot. Did someone else experience this? If so, how did you fix it? :)

Replace them. I had the hesh 3 also and the plastic parts broke in 3 different spots after 4 months

Feels weird checking this review a month after purchasing these headphones. Anyway, I do feel your annoyance with the oval shaped ear cup padding. Since thy are replaceable, do you what can I replace the padding with? Something that would still be as thick and sound isolating but also round and bit more comfortable on the ear

Thanks Nick, I think you are just about the only person to show how the wired setup needs to be twisted to lock. I have them and am very happy with the sound. They do get warm and my comfort limit seems to be an hour and a half. They pair beautifully with my iPad Air, but I cannot get them to pair with my Yamaha R-N402 Bluetooth capable receiver. I also picked them up on Black Friday for 99 dollars. Thanks again!

How do you get rid of the BEEP when you press the volume on the Headset and on the phone Volume buttons too? The Beep happens when I turn my volume up or down, it’s irritating, and the headset beeps between tracks too
