someone may have already commented this, but you should check out Kim Harrison and he Hollows series. The first book is Dead Witch Walking. It's Urban fantasy, the cast of characters is a motley crew of found family, and there's plenty of books to scratch the Urban fantasy itch until the next Dresden book comes out. Rachel Morgan and Harry Dresden are my favorite UF protagonists! They're also really quick reads. They take me the same amount of time as Dresden books.
Awesome video man! I’m enjoying the Green Bone Saga. I’ll be reading Jade Legacy this month. I’m on the fence I’m with the Saxon series. I’m really enjoying the Warlord Chronicled, but Saxon has soooo many books lol.
For me it would be: Fantasy Dresden Files Dead Beat through Changes - Very difficult to pick one lol The Crippled God - Steven Erikson - Probably my favourite ending to a Fantasy series I've ever read. The Unholy Consult - R Scott Bakker Historical-Fantasy The Lions of Al-Rassan - Guy Gavriel Kay - I can't stop thinking about this book since I finished it. Historical-Fiction Gates of Fire - Steven Pressfield The Pale Horseman - Bernard Cornwell - There were some parts that annoyed me but I love Uhtred, I appreciate that Cornwell's not afraid to show how much of an asshole Uhtred is capable of being. Horror I Am Legend - Richard Matheson - So good I read it in 1 sitting. The Terror - Dan Simmons - This is a pretty awesome blend of Horror and Historical-Fiction. Sci-Fi Iron Gold - Pierce Brown Ogres - Adrian Tchaikovsky (novella) Rise of Endymion - Dan Simmons Slaughterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegot
My best books of 2022 so far: The Stand, the entire Book of the Ancestor trilogy by Mark Lawrence, the first 3 books in the Long Price quartet, and I guess I'll throw in Crippled God too. I can't believe it took me so long to get around to The Stand. So glad you liked Jade City. I love that trilogy and I just read the short story, The Jade Setter of Jan Loon last week. It was great to read something new in that world.
Great video! My faves this years so far are Jade War, Project Hail Mary and Lonesome Dove (which edges out the other two for my favorite of the year - a top 5 all-time favorite for me).
Hey man, currently flying through Dresden files and absolutely loving it. Your review of the series was a big reason for me picking it up and I’ve been enjoying going through your reviews of each book after I finish them. Just finished changes and my mind is blown..
@@alexnieves #factsarefacts but hey it got me to reread Mistborn and to finally check out A Game of Thrones for the first time. And hot damn is that book good
Pet Semetary remains one of my all time favourite King novels to this day- pretty much on par with Needful Things. I'm planning to get to Jade City soon it sounds amazing!.
@@alexnieves thanks I'll let you know what I think of Jade City once I've read it. I totally agree with the Lies of Locke Lamora being a fantastic book- great Top 5 list!.
Still working my way around to Sun Eater, but most everything I've heard has me excited! Top five for me thus far this year would probably be The Soul Key, I, Jedi, The Quiet Place, Starfighters of Adumar, and Red Sector.
Here's my top 5 best books so far of 2022 1. Billy summers by Stephen king 2. Dolores Claiborne by Stephen king 3. The cactus by Sarah Haywood 4. The great peace by mena suvari her memoir 5. The heart principle by helen Hoang
Cornwell is a master. I'm sure you've heard of his Warlord Chronicles, which are truly fantastic. His Grail Quest trilogy (plus the book 1356) are also really great. I haven't read the Saxon Tales yet, but it's a top priority for next year. Thanks for the list!
The Saxon Tales are excellent and I've definitely heard that Warlord Chronicles is even better. I'm honestly just going to likely read all of Cornwell's novels because he's fantastic.
Agreed. I also read the Starbuck Chronicles - his 4-book series set in the American Civil War - and it was great. Unfortunately he never finished that series.
If Lee's books have the same feel as Tom Clancy,, James Grant or Jack Carr's books it will do very well on Amazon otherwise no. They will destroy the series; Cornwell is the one I'm interested from your books. My No. 1, for the moment is The Storyteller by Dave Grohl
Cornwell is fantastic and I see your point about Amazon. I think someone will likely grab the rights to it while it's fresh in everybody's mind and it definitely lends itself well to TV.
