Not one particular book, but I’ve gotten really into Julie Otsukas work recently (had to read the buddah in the attic for school and absolutely fell in love). She mainly writes about the experiences of Japanese-American immigrant woman around the time of internment, and the way she does it is absolutely beautiful
I’ve had my eye on Buddha in the Attic for a while now! It’s one of those books that always snags my attention but I haven’t caved and bought it yet. I’ll take this as a sign to pick it up asap!
