I enjoyed this video so much ❤ Other videos are kind of like reproductions of eachother, the same books in the same editions, but i saw a lot of new ones in this.
Thank you for the great video. I always enjoy the spoiler section because after finishing a series I need to „discuss“ the book with fellow readers and see how they liked/ disliked/ interpreted certain things. So thank you very much 😊❤
Not really sure what you mean by consent? It sure looked like both of them were consenting lol. Doesnt really matter now cause shes dead though. Also, consent isnt very popular amongst grimdark books like this so if thats a trigger for you id stay away from grimdark.
really loved hearing your thoughts on all the books! i haven't read all of alice oseman's books because i read i was born for this first and really disliked it, and a main problem i disliked with that book followed radio silence too so it soured it to me though i definitely enjoyed it more but felt uncomfortable with how alice handled fandoms and the ideas they kept inferring through the books (mainly not having a single positive representation of fandom). i'm glad i continued to give heartstopper a shot though, because i absolutely loved it! i think you'll enjoy the rest of the show for sure, i really loved how they adapted it! really great video.
If it makes you feel any better Sam I get that same exact feeling sometimes when going into a job interview.😅 And it's great news 🗞️ to hear that you're doing better. 😊 👍🤗 P.S. have you considered purchasing a comfortable chair 💺 before just out of curiosity? 🤔🙂
Very interesting, you only live once, spending is only dangerous when you can't afford it, enjoy your book hauls Sami, you're amazing no matter what, belated happy New Year! x
Your collection is absolutely swoon-worthy! As a lover of classics, this was a joy to watch (and very dangerous for my wallet because I want to buy all of these editions lol). Thanks for sharing!
Those books 📚 have been calling you're name meanwhile I have some chocolate chip cookies 🍪 in my room that are calling my name every time I pass by them. 😅 P.S. I liked that fly up action with your glasses that u did. 🙂🙃
Over the past year or two I read all 6 books of Juliet Marillier's Sevenwaters series. Each book of the Sevenwaters series is a folk tale/fairytale-inspired historical fantasy book that is set in 9th Century Ireland, and that follows a different young woman within the same extended family (most of whom are healers and/or seers). Each book is somewhat like a different standalone "episode" within a larger story that spans 3 generations and that has plot threads that connect through the entire series. They are very well written, and my average rating of all 6 books is 8/10 (books 2 and 6 were my favourites, and book 3 my least favourite).
I didn't realize all of them were retellings! Right now I'm trying to track down matching copies of books 2 and 3 but for some reason it seems 2 is completely out of print in this oversized paperback. Looking forward to reading them all!
@@theteapotreads Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that they were all retellings - I just meant that the settings and fantasy elements are inspired by ancient Irish folk tales and mythology. I believe that only book 1 is a direct retelling of a fairytale.
I really enjoyed your review, and I agree with you about Maewyn. My only complaint is how did you not mention the best character: Binabik? Anyways, good video.
I used to work in a bookstore and getting first hand new books was additive! I get the day being busy, people sometimes underestimate the amount of work involved in a book store. Great video
I thoroughly enjoyed this, thank you! What a wonderful collection. Please do more videos. I like your style a lot. You're very pleasant and not even a little bit annoying lol.. And you have impeccable taste.
Hi Sam, hope you're doing well and these are some great books that you've mentioned. Oh also I do have some book recommendations for you that I think you might like. 😊 Thief of sorrows, the assassin bride: (the King and the assassin book 1) and also dragon forged. These are my recommendations to you thought you might like them sorry btw it took me so long I wanted to find some books 📚 for you that you'd be interested in. 😊
Wonderful library! Have you considered solid wood bookcases? I used to have the ikea ones but since moving, our home library now has seven solid wood bookcases, some with adjustable shelves and I so appreciate having each one.
I'd love to invest in nice book cases someday! It's a dream to have a proper home library but I don't want to go all in until I'm permanently settled somewhere.
So wonderful to see so many classic books! So good to see Anais Nin and Dorothy Parker! You might want to read Kate Forsyth, she is really good and such a nice person to meet in person.
The way you said hello--Haha--you're so fucking pleasant. I'm not even ten seconds into the video yet and I already enjoy your personality. Shout out to you for making me smile!
I love clicking on videos where booktubers go through their classics. As much as I love watching bookshelf tours with modern books, I love classics more. I have a lot of classics in a variety of editions, but I do want the Vintage classics (red spines) and some clothbound classic editions. The only problem is that these books can be super expensive on my country, so I will make do with the secondhand books I come across. P.S. those drop cap(?) editions are gorgeous. I don't want to have a full collection of them- just because I already have copies of many of the books within this series, but there are some books within this series where it is extremely rare to find printed copies since they are no longer in print, and othee publishing companies just don't have them. Your classic shelves are stunning! Hope you get more books to add to them!
Thank you! I’m fairly split between loving modern books and classics but the aesthetic of classics is often soooo good it’s hard not to collect entire sets haha. And yes-more books coming all the time! Thanks for watching and enjoying.
Hi there teapot, I just wanna say that I did enjoy watching your video. And there we're some books 📚 I did notice that look beautiful but not as beautiful as you though.😊 P.S. I hope that you have an amazing day! 😊
I would love to collect books again. I had to give away over 250 books two years ago that I owned for over 20 years. It was a necessity that I get rid of them, definitely not done by choice. I miss my books a lot.
I felt the same after reading the book. There was so much build-up for some characters and I felt that they either died or just simply stop. Maegwin was a huge blow because her mind was lost and she tried so hard to save her people. I was okay with her dying but I think she could have regained her sanity to at least talk with Eolair one last time. Also, Gutwulf I think had a poor end. Sacrificing himself while fighting Inch would have been a nice send-off (but then again he wouldn't have found bright-nail). However, I was satisfied with Isorn being honored. Rachel reunion. Pyrates getting absolutely humiliated by the storm king. Simon's heritage reveal was most satisfying because Isgrimmur focuses on Simon's achievements throughout the books and I really needed that for my boy. He starts off super boring and by the end he is recognized for his battles and badassery. The book was boring at times, but for the most part, I enjoyed it. Definitely better to hear the audiobook.
Yes! However it’s not always the best…. Every store will have AC but depending on where you are it may not feel like it’s working. Here in the Midwest it gets very humid and there have been days where even with the AC I’m sweating through my shirt
Interesting insight Sam, you have to work things out by yourself, it has to come from within. I'd love to go to the casino and put all my savings on black, but know how wrong and ridiculous it would be. There's that inner strength which prevents you. Another great video, books are aesthetically pleasing to the eye but I never get rid of anything, I've got hundreds of books in the attic x
Thanks for the video! Have you read any of TJ Klune's books and do you like them? I'm about to read my third one by him "In the Lives of Puppets", a Pinocchio retelling and wonder if it's on your list? X
I’ve read House in the Cerulean Sea and was disappointed by it (tho it seemed like a book perfect for me!). I have Lives of Puppets and I want to give it a try before deciding whether Klune is for me or not. How are you enjoying it?
I'm glad you mentioned the Strange the Dreamer duology as a great example of worldbuilding - it's straight up some of the best fantasy I've read, adult or YA!
You title is correct. Twilight level. And that’s not positive. It was a bad book always. Almost destroyed the vampire genre. This one has even worse prose. Needs a professional editor to check it. Wtf? It’s a draft book. No beta check and editorial work on it. Btw: Bella was a BAD role model. Remember to that! Your description in that is correct.
I would have made a move on her, but I also would have told her not to trust me. 😂Hi Sam hope you're doing great and hearing u rant makes me laugh as we'll as your accent's.😂 P.S. you and me think the same in the violence department thought 💭 wise. 😂
Always do video's that you want to do because we see your passion, knowledge and personality which is priceless and believe it's therapeutic to your health. Take care Sam and enjoy that tea 💚...hot!
I loved seeing your collection!! My favorite edition to collect are the Everyman's Library and perhaps the Penguin English Library or Oxford for paperbacks. May I please ask if the Penguin Drop Caps cover is hard paste or a cloth like or velvet texture? Thank you.
