Hey Traptrix player here : for those who want to play budget with Ragnaraika, just a copy of bloom and seed is enough to combo of everything, you just need jasmin aromaseraphy and the structure deck x3 for the rest of the deck, so it's very budget friendly with this kind of build 👍(and you still have room for some staples if needed + the extra deck isn't pricy when you go for redoer and bagooska)

Yeah so basically for the full Traptrix engine, you just need the Traptrix structure deck x3, and for the Raika engine I'll advise 1 copy of each raika card + "jasmine aromaseraphy" to begin your combo. Then to upgrade your deck, the best card to get in priority would be infinite impermanence X3, the you can get your hand on some handtraps/staples (note that evenly matched and ash blossom are in the structure deck already), and some extra deck cards such as redoer, bagooska and Zeus (the only expensive staple you need aside imperm). can you keep up at locals with traptrix? recently got back into it but not sure if it’s worth upgrading my traptrix to a raika or if i should switch decks
@@shababsbotten69 yeah no if you have the opportunity I'll advise you to take another deck. I'm happy with Traptrix caus' I've been playing it for a year now and I know the archetype by heart. If you're not ready to fully commit in learning the deck as nobody else, it won't take you that far unfortunately 😭 (for cheap and powerful meta decks that are fun to play I'll advise you to look at purrely 👍). Personally, I always do 2 wins 2 losses at locals. Twice I've done 1 win 3 losses, and I've won once the locals ( I've been going at locals since February only and not that consistently).
@@matsuba4230 it's a good buff but no I don't think you need it, especially if you go with the Raika build caus' you'll be locked in the insect/plant/reptile tri-type, but if you want to, you can side 2x and then play it when you are sure to go first 👍 (that way you secure rafflesia and are immune to nibiru)

Im sorry i have to disagree with the trap trix going in tha category. I have seen that deck go second against some serious boards and still win. The issue with this game is people build all their decks base off yugitubers profiles and thats why people lose alot. You gotta have an unorthodox build to any deck these days. If evryone using the same exact build then everyone will keep losing. When DPE and dragoon turbo was a deck it lost bad all the time for it to be expensive. Because everyone used the SAME build cheat out anaconda pay 2k and make the fusion..too easy to stop
12:25 I had this conversation with the PK discord, I really want PK to be better. I love the deck and it’s how I got into the meta game. My locals keeps telling me to drop it but I can’t, something about PK makes me enjoy the game a whole lot more
Nah don't drop PK my guy. It just needs more support to patch up any weakness it had and/or update for thr modern game. Am interesting Mashup I have tried before is pairing Pk with PUNKs. Really fun imo
Hey , it may not be a popular opinion. But Time Theif-Phantom Knight- ft Ult fal OR rising rev fal. Is still a thing. I currently run that build for PK. Just saying!!
Hero player here, everything is cheap except wake up and maybe DPE , certain stables as well if you wanna run like triple tactics cards, as well don’t be afraid to run 2 or 1 vision hero increases..its a hit or miss just depends how consistent is your deck and way how you can move around
I think purrely is the best option hand down. High celling but rewarding for sure. Sky strike will get some decent support that can let the deck play as 1st and even better on turn 2. Phantom knights is deck that i hope to get a support (link 2 and maybe a continuous spell that recycle banish cards) . Salamangreat used to be cheap but now the prices sky rocket same for yuma for unchained (unchained still needs more support) otherwise they cloud be on the list. P. S good list!
Addendum to Dinomorphia you didn't mention concerning low attack monsters. Rexterm makes all monsters the opponent currently controls equal to your LP, so that circumvents the low attack issue. In addition, 90% of the time, you will be at such low life that the opponent couldn't even play with a 600 at Robina for instance.

@@MattOsheaYGObtw, by the point you usually have Rex on field, if you use Rex effect and pay half your LP, your opponent shouldnt be able to activate SP. (Trap pay half get to 4000, Kentregina pay half get to 2000, Rex effect for cost you pay and get down to 1000). They can try to remove kent but you can have intact or you could have Frenzy.
I think Dinomorphia is in a really good spot overall because of how reliant on monster effects most decks are right now, and it is shockingly good at breaking boards even when going second thanks to cards like brute

As a complete beginner, i found the art so cool that I bought a list, without knowing it is hard to play. Ive struggled immensely to do pretty much anything in my first locals. Would you recommend playing Exosisters or Marincess (to stay in the Water theme) instead?

i want to bring some attention too crystal beast, once apo gets her reprint the only card in this deck costing more than 50ct is king sargas and gamecuel, aside from non engine you want to play and s:p which can be substituded. its decent enough to have fun with it and it combos to the moon, de. not tier anything but worth taking a look.
swordsoul is by my favourite deck, even with protos back the only good thing to come out of this ban list is the QCR baronne dropping in price since its my favourite card. still gonna try make it work but may be time to get branded out
The crazy thing about the Melodious Engine as well is that not only is it budget, but it outs Promethean Princess in the GY. It pretty much gives any deck a pipeline to an Ishizu Shuffler.
As a Melodious enthusiast who tried to make them work since 2016, and don’t get me wrong, Melodious were underwhelming as an anime archetype within the competitive scene, but the potential was always there for them to be good. Ostinato was Branded Fusion before Branded Fusion became Branded Fusion. I used to always mix and match Melodjous with other fusion based decks like Heroes, Fluffals, Branded, Shaddolls to decently good success in 20-22 player locals. The new support merely gave the Melodious core a backbone and harnessed the potential that had always been there. The mere fact this guy said 1st Movement Solo isn’t a must have goes to show HOW oblivious people still see the deck. 1st Movement is always nice to have on hand so in the scenario where Ostinato gets interrupted or Refrain gets handtrapped, you still have 1st Movement to rely on to start comboing off. As I mentioned, the deck has so much more avenues to work off now and one negate or interruption gives the deck a lot more scope to threaten in a competitive setting. It is no longer a glass cannon and one trick pony.
I think you misunderstood my point of 1st movement. I'm merely saying that on a budget of 100$ or less, you don't need it to play the deck. It works without it. But obviously is so much better with if
For any swordsoul players or future swordsoul players, the deck does struggle more without baronne but with a good pilot mindset you can do a lot still. Make sure you really find comfort and love in your tenyis now, max out 3 of all your tenyis and play one mapura for your protos target or your token in case you ever want to go protos, and remember to play 2-3 vessel. Chaofeng is a real threat now, and if you do go against someone who plays niburu, going into chaofeng will stop your opponent in their tracks, protecting you from many light effects. Your tenyis can get you into this line without using your normal summon either, so your opponent will be forced to niburu you early or not niburu you at all. Also, don’t forget that protos helps us counter snake eyes very well compared to what baronne did, and if you’re able to get yourself crossout you’re doing yourself a huge favor too! Swordsoul still has gas, don’t give up on it yet!
I mix with Horus currently to and two dark wing level two synchros to spam synchros out past the standard swordsoul line and Horus can bring out Xyz vampire and help push combo if bad open
