I just picked up a pair of HS7's (coming from the HS5 50m's). I like them and the bass they put out for my bedroom home recording studio but after about 2hrs. of song mixing I noticed that I was having ear fatigue. I spend a lot of time mixing music and working on video projects and sound design. I'll give these speakers another day or two but if this keeps happening I'm considering returning them for the T7V's. Thanks for your review! Well done! 👍🏽

6 months later? what choice did you make? did you get used to them after a while? I was at guitar center (for three hours) switching back and forth between the HS7's and the T7V's trying out different Genres of music and came to the same conclusion. Hs7 was able to reproduce very steady low end but suffered ear piercing high's (noticed serious ear fatigue at the store??) and the Adam had great high/mid but no bottom??? spent the last few days trying to learn all I can to make an educated purchase... any info would be very helpful 🙏

Great video buddy. I own the Adam Audio T7V and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t get any hiss on these studio monitors. Hissing can occur when it’s connected to a faulty, broken cable and also by interference on the speaker cable when they’re laying next to electric wall outlets and cables. Try some fresh new cables with good isolation shielding and make sure there isn’t a couple power cables laying next to them.

I have these monitors since yesterday. And i can say the'yre absolutely amazing, especially since they're not very expensive. I am by no means a proffesional, i just produce music as hobby. But after having worked with krk rokit 6''s for a decade and switching to these... Man the clarity on these T7V's are so much better. It's almost like i removed ear plugs when hearing the comparison. I think i understand better now what a neutral sound means. I can hear allot more details in songs, i'm sure those ribbon tweeters have much to do with it. The bass is thight and more than enough for me to produce. I might look into a sub later though. They also match very well with Sennheiser HD600's, which will save me time trying to get the mix right on both. Can highly recommend them !

Nice review, appreciate the detaill and the explanation of the biases in the testing. I bought a pair of Behringher Truth 12 years ago (not amazing but solid) for mixing and inadvertently became addicted to a more honest sound. Have bought JBLs and KRKs since with varying results (dirty secret I still like the Behringhers) but I will inevitably replace every speaker in my house with a monitor. I'm wondering how you feel about the T7Vs a couple of months in. People talk a lot about burn in on these speakers

@@RileyGein yep understand, typically attributed to confirmation bias or a change in personal preference over time. It is something that is discussed around these speakers a lot however, and I am curious about whether the impression of these speakers has changed after a few months or years. Totally subjective of course but some speakers/headphones that you thought sounded great initially become wearing over time, despite the audio being exactly the same from a measurable and objective standpoint

Hi - great video! It's really helpful to see the graphs you made too. I work with film music (mostly orchestral scores with occasionally rock/pop instruments) as a composer and producer - I wondered if you had any thoughts on whether the Adam T7V or Yamaha HS7 would be better suited to my application? I know you mentioned in your video that the Adam T7V were better for metal etc. but how well do you feel they would get on with classical/orchestral music? Thanks in advance.

I just got a pair of T7V's, they don't hiss and in fact sound great. Break them in gently and after a few days of doing that you will see what the fuss is all about. Let the components relax and wear in and they will sound better every day until they settle in completely.

The T7V hiss has been mentioned elsewhere and its a deal breaker for me. Beyond that, the first gen KRK V4 monitors made me a fan of small speaker membranes around 4 inches. They are so much more detailed due to speed and high rigidity. For some material, I use a Genelec 7040 to shore up the bass, in an equally crisp fashion. And the AKG 712 are my favorite headphones ever - looking forward to your review on those. Currently, I'm trying hard to decide between Genelec 8010 (bi-amped version), 8020 and Adam A3X for a secondary location, since I don't want to move my KRK V4's

Recently purchased two Adam Audio T5Vs and I do hear some noise when they are attached to an powered source whose volume is 0. When the source is powered off, the T5Vs are absolutely silent even though the T5Vs are still powered on and their volume is unchanged. This eliminates RF, the monitor's own amplifier, the cable, and magnetic interference as the source of the noise. I have not yet resolved the issue. I will receive a Schiit Modi 3 DAC in a few days. I'll feed it S/pdif signals and connect the T5Vs via RCA. I'm hoping the Modi 3's low noise levels will help resolve the issue. Nevertheless, I am quite satisfied with the T5Vs. It is a joy to listen to their clear clean sound.

Previously, I could hear the idle noise 5 feet away, now if I put my ear 5 inches away from the woofer I hear slight noise. In my usual listening position, the speakers are silent at idle. The DAC was worth the $100. You may consider it for the hiss you are hearing on the T7Vs. Enjoy.

They hiss is because they’re using Class D amp, instead of Class A/B but the hiss shouldn’t be an issue if you keep the speakers a 50cm or more away from your ears, and hiss usually disappears once music starts playing. I think for the price range, its the best Buy, I think next level up is probably 3-way monitors.

Well, that's a "problem" you will have with all studio monitors, but usually, if it sounds good on monitors it also should sound okay on cheap devices. You always have to get to know your monitors really well and after you have done a mix, listen to it on as many other devices as possible.

@@augmentedkeys5971 for EDM the JBLs because i can correct the hyped up bass they have with sonarworks and get decent sounding mixes. the T7Vs have a more balanced sub and mids but lack that sizzle and sharpness in the high end. So, i noticed that yamaha is more colorful sound in all tones but but but it loses sharpness in low end. I listened adams then i realized that it is clearer and linear than hs7. Hs7 failed for me in basses sharpness of sound is lost difficult to understand the guy says what inside the playing sound. Adam was far more natural but something like less bass sound. My choice was adam at the end. I didnt know that it differs so much in sound. Although i set my mind to go and buy hs, i saw by my eyes adam is better than the other one for me.

@@carolcooper3138 I don't have amazing quality cables, but my interface is an Audient ID14 which is quite a decent mid range interface. Through the Yamaha's I have no problem and use all the same components, the Yamaha are to my ear silent and even when I push the volume on the interface there isn't hiss. I believe it's the ADAM speakers, not any of my components. My neighbor also has the T7V, I should head over there and have a listen to his. It is quite noticeable at all volume levels even OVER TOP of music playing...

@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic if the Yamahas are silent then I doubt your cables are the problem. I've talked to some people who've said that theirs are completely silent. When you go over there please let me know. It's driving me crazy. Mine is also noticeable over music. Which is insanse considering these are studio monitors. My mom's $200 Bose stereo doesn't make noise. My headphones don't make make noise, my bookshelf speakers don't make noise. But my $500 studio monitors make noise???

@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic I'm not sure if when people say they are completely silent they mean that they are silent compared to the other ones they've listened to or completely silent (which they should be).

You need to EQ your voice. Do a boost and sweep. Find the nasty “s” in your voice and drop it out a couple DB.

Maybe the bass end is weak because of a bit weak amplifier. Compromise must be somewhere in such cheap speakers.

You can use a sub with Adam's 😉

Hey Sai, yep you can. This is a review of the T7V. I can review the sub later on down the track. I think I'll wait til I'm in a bigger studio with better acoustics.

“Twenty five thousand kilohertz” ?? Really?? Do you actually have any idea what you are talking about?

zxnbeats If it said “Hertz” then 25 thousand would’ve been correct in the first place, not 25 “hundred”. You really don’t seem to have much of a clue here 😂

Hey dude, It sounds like you have no idea, there is no way you can tell how these speakers sound if I played the speakers and recorded it. There are so many factors that would disturb and colour the sound. If you want some private lessons to understand you can contact me on collectiveintelligencemusic@gmail.com and I can help get you up to speed.

You reinvented the wheel, everybody know that speakers have to be tested in person but listening few songs could give an idea even on RU-vid and would make your review less boring. Anyway, it's your channel, do what you want...
@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic
@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic 5 лет назад
@@starpaolo it wouldn't give anyone an idea. I would record the sound of the speakers... the first problem is that my microphone would colour the sound with it's character. The second problem is my room acoustics that would colour the sound. The third problem is the RU-vid compression on the audio. The fourth problem is the speakers you use to listen on would colour the sound and then finally your room would too... so all in all it wouldn't sound anything like being with the speakers in your house. I provide 16 minutes of analysis of the speaker sound and compare that to a very popular speaker many have heard.

@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic I came here because I have to choose between those two speakers. I will just use them with acoustic guitar sounds and some piano, EQ and editing. I think the HS7 have better mids. Which one would you suggest for my usage, any other speakersuggestion?
@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic
@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic 5 лет назад
@@starpaolo I explained in the video that the T7V would be a superior speaker for your studio. The midrange and high end is definitely better on the Adam speaker. The low end may be a little more subjective.
