My two most recommended canes:
Medline Folding cane: amzn.to/2DV4vqo
Carex soft grip cane: amzn.to/2DWczY8
One of the most common questions I hear from my patients is, “what is the best cane for balance problems?”
Using a cane can significantly improve your overall stability, especially if you are experiencing balance problems. You might also need to use a cane after a knee replacement or surgery.

Thank you for this information. Having multiple sclerosis I often need a cane for stability and balance. This in contrast to having an compromised leg.

Why would you have a video about balance issues, yet not even recommend a quad cane in your recommendations below your video?

My 75 year old dad is getting a knee replacement. Should he get a walking cane or walking stick for daily use?

Thank you for the advice. My mom has been recently diagnosed with CMT, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disorder, and this will be her first walking cane. I looked online and it looked like none of the most popular options seemed particularly dependable (issues with equipment failure/breaking). I went with your recommended option, the Carex soft grip cane (plus I ordered the Carex self-standing cane tip). Based on reviews, it seems to be a more reliable option than, for example, the Hurrycane or the Vive canes. I noticed though, that the canes you recommended are not offset - is there a particular reason for this?

Hi Katie. I have CMT. I have been using a cane for 5 years. I also wear AFO’s when I go outside. The cane is a necessity. The touch point is the important function of the cane for me. I hope your Mom is doing well.

Sooo... the point was not to actually explain any of the mechanics of why one cane or another can be the "best" in some context, this is just an advertorial. Gotcha.

Quad canes should only be used by quadrodytes on their last quadroped.
