This scene cracks me up because it’s true, me and my friends growing up would put down the Carpenters and laugh about it but if you ever went through their music collections you’d find the Carpenters hidden in there somewhere. John Lennon was correct, Karen Carpenter had the voice of an angel.
Farley is sorely missed. His physical and slapstick comedy talents rivaled any before or since. It was without cynicism and condescension. All were welcome in the tent. ❤️❤️ And any child of the 70's knows this song word for word or they're lying.
Everytime I watch when they both sing “I love you” at the end I think the world is singing together with Chris. We do love you, and you’re missed everyday

Watched this everyday for like three months my wife and I first got married. We're knocking on 19 years and I'm waiting for all of the kids to move out, so I can go back to just watching this all over again, everyday...this and Twister!!!
Haha! Still the funniest scene in the movie. I always catch Tommy just peeking at Richard and licking his lips before he goes into singing, like he’s just really aching to do it, but doesn’t want to do it alone.

I lovd all of this, but Belushi had the chops to have made it as a dramatic actor of he had really wanted to. Not sure about Farley. That said, Farley's comedy I think holds up much better than Belushi's, which consists of a lot of mugging for the camera.

None of Chris Farley's other movies ever were able to capture the charm and humor of this one. So many quotable scenes and lines. Laugh out loud funny scenes throughout.
If that car, truly is a vintage GTX, with a standard 440 cu in engine (375 HP) and a 6 pack carb, and not just a bastardized "Fury", or a "Satellite" what a shame! Hilarious scene though! Neither one wants to admit that it's not the lamest thing ever, but they sure do listen! I've never been highly ashamed of any music that I ever listened to. Even though I am mostly kick-ass and prog rock rooted, I've always loved the Carpenters!
A lot of people say this is the best scene or the best moment in film, this just may be the best, it is absolutely hilarious and it never gets old. When Spade does the mocking of the classic turn in the song with that da da da da 😄
Thats what chris farley would say on his show interviewing Stars he admired. Like remember when you did those films with david spade? And you sang that karen carpenter song together? That was awesome!
