Is anyone else gonna reupload all of Charlie’s old videos? I know she’s trans now and wants to start fresh and have her new identity be what people see when they search for her, but it’s still disappointing as a fan of her old videos. I hope Charlie at least makes her old videos unlisted and puts them in a playlist so fans of her videos before she came out can still watch them.
We need to be a little understanding that she wants to control her image in this new phase of her life. There's a huge imbalance of hate and she's taking her time. I have been archiving charlieissocoollike and a few other channels I like for a few years, but I don't think it's ethical to reupload her content. The old reuploads done years ago may be ok, she can always ask to takedown, but a new reupload is just undermining her authonomy and just being disrespectfull. When (and if) she allows it, I will gladly reupload to the internet archive or even RU-vid. I believe that there is at least a few other people who has also archived her channel, it was one of the biggest channels less than a decade ago, but seeing that they also did not reupload them shows that the internet is choosing to respect her wisshes.
@@Squire3555 I'm just not a fan of when any media gets removed from existence for any reason, whether it's The Simpsons' episode "Stark Raving Dad" or "Do What U Want" by Lady Gaga ft. R. Kelly, or the Charlieissocoollike videos. You could argue RU-vid videos are different, especially if they're old videos you're not proud of anymore, but I'd say once you get big enough and actually gain a legitimate following, your videos become entertainment like a movie, TV show or song does. You may disagree with me on this, but I'm pretty libertarian when it comes to letting people consume what they want, and I believe people should have the choice to watch whatever movies, TV shows or RU-vid videos they want and not have that choice taken away from them by having them be removed. That's why I believe Charlie's old videos should still be available somewhere, whether it's RU-vid or the Internet Archive or somewhere else. I'd have even been fine if Charlie made the videos unlisted and put them in a playlist and gave a link to the playlist (like she implied she might do in her first video she made since coming out but so far hasn't done yet). As long as they can be viewed somewhere somehow without people jumping through too many hoops to view them.

If your favourite show or movie that was only available on one specific streaming service and nowhere else suddenly got removed from that service, would you say your disappointment that you can’t watch it anymore (at least without resorting to piracy) is being entitled to that piece of entertainment?

Dude, as a trans woman, the number two reason I wanted HRT was to reformat my sex C: drive (number one being I wanted my entire internal thought processes to change, which they did). My sex drive is almost nonexistent now and it's great. The idea that people transition to get off on it is dumb ass. Like saying iOS being run on an Android isn't really iOS because of the hardware, and that people only do it to fantasize about having an iPhone... No, someone like me just prefers the experience of iOS.
Personally I’m disappointed at the way that he’s turned out. I prefer the old Charlie, but I do realise that it’s his decision and his life. I wonder how he makes his money these days? Certainly not from RU-vid!

Personally, I think it is crazy that people can identify as whatever they want and everybody is just expected to go along with it 100% and not ask questions or have opinions.
