Welcome back to the channel!
So today we try out my brand new GRP GTX01's on my Arrma Typhon 6s V5!
These things are incredible for the money this set cost £40 which is a steal!
Its been a while since i made a video so thought we would have some fun today and just see how these perform on 4s and 6s and how they compare to the stock ARRMA tires that come included with the model.
I have finally found a new speed run location which will be ideal for the 100mph run in the coming months but today we return to the usual spot one last time with the typhon to see how it performs.
Now the GRP wheels are a smaller diameter compared to the Arrma wheels which means slower speeds now the best way to solve this is to go for higher gearing which is why i am looking at fitting a spool and some much higher gearing to help us get closer to the 100mph goal!
The aim of this video was for me to get a feel for the new tires and see how they would perform for the normal user who may just be looking for an upgrade set of on road tires for their felony, infraction, limitless or typhon and may not be looking to go fast just a reliable well performing tire that doesn't cost a fortune.
Very impressed with these and cant recommend them enough!

In 1:1 racing there is a saying....Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go? Props for keeping realistic goals. Very few of us have unlimited hobby budgets. Thank you for all your great content.

Cheers Rick! 100mph is definitely an achievable goal for most. I would love to build a 200mph car but as you say unfortunately i dont have an unlimited budget and its totally unrealistic for me to even think about it. Every channel is different and like i mention in the video im not here to be competitive or beat any records, purely just to have fun with this amazing hobby and share it with everyone else :)

Mate it doesn't matter what other tubers are doing, You just carry on the way you are. It was your 144001 vids that got me hooked on RC's. I am wondering Typhon, Kraton or Trax Maxx for me next??? I fancy a basher but that Typhon looks epic.

It was tracking really straight on those GRP's. 👍 100mph is a excellent goal, I'm guessing less than 5% of people that own a RC car have achieved that. 200mph is near on impossible unless you are backed by a team of people.

It was great! So smooth and easy to control! Exactly it is an ideal goal for me and no doubt many others out there. 200mph is great if you have the backing of companies providing you with all the electronics required or have a lot of spare cash to invest into it which i simply dont. Looking forward to that 100mph Run!!

@@beyondRC Did you find the turnbuckles for the rear hub's rub very slightly on the inside of the wheel? Mine do, I may have to dremel down the turnbuckle ends a little.

Nice run with the new tires with the typhoon👍 I’m a family man myself and really been watching how much I spend on my rcs but I think I’m going to get me a new rc that is my speed run rc and try and hit the 💯mph mark😃 Don’t think I have the right rc right now up for the challenge. Just saw your video and your comment on Kevin. Agree 100% I enjoy watching you’re channel and as you said 200mph is not in my budget so thank you for what you do and thank you for acknowledging that. I appreciate his videos to show me what is possible but I appreciate yours for showing options I can afford. Idk your relationship with him and I’m not commenting on that, just saying I love you both. I would love to see some more videos on tuning, toe and camber. I run Dboots Hoons on my Typhon 3s 20t, 5000mah, 100c spectrum and the Hoons are wearing uneven and most videos that I ycan find don’t show exactly how to fix that. Anyways thanks again. Hope to see you’re take on making sure I don’t have one tire straight and the other looking at me like a Walleye fish. 👍🏻

100mph is certainly impressive with a short chassis Typhon!!! I use the GRP's too, they are great. For speed runs I do run the Hoons. The height helps and they are designed to go fast. You'll notice how much more grip the GRP has over the Hoons. Hoon are to drift. Good luck 👍. Definitely need a better location. I finally found one and got 86mph out of my stock Infraction. I put an AVC reciever in my Typhon and am using the DX5C remote. I dial in a little steering gain 20% and 0 throttle. The Typhon is very controlled with this setting and 65mph is easy. Next for me is to gear up to the 25t with the Hoons. I'll be following along. 100mph is doable but you need alot of room. With the Infraction I'm standing in the middle passing myself at about 60 to hit 85. Sorry for the long winded comment. This is great stuff!!!

I am really enjoying many rc channels. I want to share in the providers enjoyment also. It bothers me when people comment on what should be provided by producer's or what everyone should buy and use. RC ing would be pretty boring if everything was the same.

Couldn't agree more! I started my channel to show people what i get up to with my RC's and an opportunity to share my goals and achievements. I know im not the fastest but i simply dont care i am having fun reaching my achievable goals and that's what it is about! I have no intention to break any records just to have fun. Thank you!

Awesome grps man! Old vid but still great. I didn't know smaller tires made such a difference on the top end. I think 100mph is easily achieved for most especially on the limitless platform. I have a typhon as well but I stretched it with a kraton chassis. It's sweet! I run hoons for the street and mojave tires for off road. Very versatile platform.

The yowoo graphene lipos on Amazon/eBay are really impressive I've been using these 3s 4s 6s lipos ove the last year or so and 100% worth it here in the states low I.R , cool Temps and really can take some abuse without any performance decrease over 30 times I've run each or more. They are a sister company of HRB I believe but I won't use the HRB lipos after poor performance experience dropped cells or worse and the yowoo lipos are als constructed in a way with tough materials making them even more reliable. Good going, and stick to your guns on the speed runs, im in same boat as you not rich and sunk a tidy pile into a Hobao GT 1/8, BTW got S7`s on that, hoping for 72 on 6s with it, this is after a dozy twonk in a 4x4 run it over last sunday, all fixed now

Just for anyone fitting hoons or grp on the typhon, it will rub on the rear hub and wear the plastic down as the wheels just about touch

I forgot to ask.. does anyone make an upgraded street tire that’s a bigger wheel/tire combo to match the size of the stock off-road tire in the 118 mm diameter range so when we do speed runs we have the street tires size match the stock tire size? Aka does anyone make a 117-118mm street wheel/tire 17mm hex?

My son and I wanted to build an rc car fairly cheaply to make 100mph we found out about the wltoys cars then we found out how many people have already used that platform. I think a 100mph great and an achievement . Could you pls do a video explaining the motors an what KV is best for higher speeds with both 2s and up and what esc is best etc we want to build something on a budget and have seen some hobby wing combos for around £90 from model sport but I’m not sure what’s best to look for so any help would be great these will be going in the 019 and the 001 so best options pls. I don’t really want to run past 4s also would xt60 connectors be ok?

100 mph was such a big deal 10 years ago...now many cheap setups can achieve it and faster... crazy ..this car at 50 mph max is just right imo...

absolutely. 100mph has always been a goal of mine that i am yet to achieve. i left the hobby in 2010 and only just got back in a year ago so im playing catch up. I missed out on 10 years of RC

I’ll add my 2 cents on the ovonics, my brother has some new 3s 2200 ovonic packs and we tested them against my aging 2200 gens ace 3s packs, the gens ace were bigger and held voltage higher for longer in my 3s typhon, despite the gens ace being old and puffed and down to about 1800 mah capacity when tested on the charger… these batteries are massively over rated, I’m guessing they’re 1800 mah 20c packs or something despite being advertised as 2200, they’re nowhere near the rated specs.

@@beyondRC Fast eddy ceramic bearings kit for 2016 Typhon. I’m hoping this has the majority of the bearings I need to swap them all out. I might have to hunt some down if there are different sizes from the 2016 Typhon to the V5.

unfortunately no. Things got too busy and I didn't follow it up. I still have the Typhon but its running 22t pinion on 6s i get 70mph which i realised is more than enough for my needs. Maybe one day :/
