Daiwa making cheap rod and reel with minimal profit are great. It encourages people to get into the sport. I appreciate these prices for sure. Thank you Daiwa!
I bought this combo to catch bait fish but easily handles 20 inch specklers and flounder. Catching larger fish with an ultralite combo is always fun. Fished 4 times a week in saltwater for 2 months and has held up very well. Best bang for your buck.
I watched this video the other day when searching for cheap Daiwa reviews, and a miracle occurred where I was with my wife in the grocery store (that doesn't sell fish stuff before now), and they have a new tiny fishing aisle section with this exact combo for $19.99. Picked one up - excited to try it out! I hope I get as good results as you did!
Good review! Great vids! I just buy Walmart rod/reel combo's for $20. Buy 2 of them every spring and put real good line in it. You have to put new line in it because it will break on you. You guys know. They pack those spools with dumpster quality line. Good review and video!!
Good video. Iuv the keyboard know it alls and sheep. Your doing a good job promoting budget but very functional equipment I love my 6 dollar 30 year old Eagle Claw rod. I can bend it in half and split sot will bend it. Most sensitive rod I ever felt
if you’re wondering this reel also works offshore.I bought it while in the keys in 5000 size for 50 or 60 bucks. i’ve caught several kingfish on it. i haven’t used it that much but ive went offshore probably 5 or 6 times with it and it’s held up fine besides the handle being a tiny bit loose.
I just bought this same combo for $20 at my local bait shop , fished with it all weekend and couldn’t believe how awesome she performs. I rigged it with 15lb braid and was consistently casting 30 - 40 yards across the damn pond . I caught 3 large mouths ranging from 2-3 pounds and had to wrastle’m out of heavy weeds , she was flexing like crazy but it still got the job done . I’m fixin to go back and cop like 5 of these bad boys just to have on hand for the kids . I really liked how flexible it is , all my casts were super accurate .
I've seen this type of casting with people who like to spin off a Dock or canal. Definitely different but I've even tried it. Just depends on the angle and how many people are on the Dock
If you can't adjust drag on the fly. Grab the spool with your hand and set that damn hook bro... Then tighten drag down while you got em tight. That was sad lol
It depends how big the catfish are but I would say unless you are going for big ones it will handle them. I use mine for bullhead but they are all pretty small 1-2lbs and I've caught bass up to 4-5lbs on it.
Hey everyone, was wondering if anyone has compared this with the Daiwa Samurai Spinning Combo X (2020)? I am on the market to get my nephew a new rod and reel combo so he can join in on the fishing fun. Would love a 2nd opinion.
