These college games, they come to represent your family, friends, community and a lot of times yourself if you went to the school. The things you learned, the relationships and memories you made. The passion that comes through is so strong because of that. Unlike any other American sport.
Yup, you're right, the Hurricanes play at Hard Rock Stadium and because the college and NFL seasons are so close you can watch a hurricanes game on Saturday and a Dolphins game on Sunday. The Stadium staff is top notch to get everything ready for both teams.
@fermisparadox01 the City of Coral Gables residents would never allow it. The Orange Bowl wasn't in Coral Gables either. They won 5 titles while playing there. The Stadium hasn't been the problem. Until last year, the school hasn't been spending any money on the program. They finally started doing that so the results of that should be showing soon.
I went to Virginia Tech from 2015-2019 - so was actually at the game in this video! Unreal experience and a huge reason I was as drawn to the school was the school spirit. Too bad our coach ruined a great program 😢. Great video y’all!
I remember my dad talking about how Justin Fuente was going to be trouble for everyone else in the ACC after VT won their division that first year. It really didn't pan out that way in the long run.
@@colleenmonfross4283 just about every game was a surreal experience, but for sure games like this where a top 10 opponent or rival game would have an entrance like this! But against lesser teams, less attendance of course has an impact
@@nathanstroud2223 I thought we were going to be a powerhouse after the ACC championship game appearance against Clemson for sure - we all felt that way to be honest. Then a lot of that core team left early for the nfl (can’t blame them for that), and the flaws with Fuente’s recruiting philosophy and culture started to show once the last wave of Beamer’s guys moved on
Florida State and Aiden's team, the Florida Gators, are a huge rivalry! The tomahawk chop is a superior cheer than the Gator chomp, where u clap ur hands in front of u with both arms extended- just like gator jaws. With the chop, u can cheer w 1 hand and continue drink ur beer w the other 😂. Go Noles!
In case you’re wondering what some of these rather weird college sports team names mean, here goes… “Gamecocks” are a type of rosters that are generally bred for the illegal game of cock fighting. 🐓 “Aggies” on the other hand is the shortening of the name “agriculturist” as in the formal name of the school Texas Agricultural & Mechanical University, or Texas A&M. “Hokies” is just a made up name for a turkey. 🦃 “Crimson Tide” is from the fact the crowds wore crimson red to games and moved around the stadium like a tide of crimson. “Sooners” name comes from the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889 when settlers where offered free land if they lined up at the starting line and ran and hurried up and staked the ground to claim the plot of land that they were to own. The night before the run, some people decided to cheat and claim their plots before anyone else and thus they were called “Sooners” because they got there sooner than anyone else cause they cheated.
I live ten mins. from Clemson and it crazy up here during football games. I’m a South Carolina Gamecocks Fan though, we are interstate rivals. Always the last game of the season. The nickname was a reference to the fighting tactics of General Thomas Sumter, the Revolutionary War hero known as the Fighting Gamecock, so in 1903 the student newspaper shortened the word Gamecock and that has been the nickname ever since. Gamecocks are birds used in cock fights ( they are mean as hell) So it was named after the famed guerrilla fighter Gen. Sumter. Which by the way he was dubbed that nickname by the British Soilders because Sumter was such a thorn in their sides. A little trivia for you !!
Clemson is like a morgue compared to Williams Brice. Maybe that's why they call it Death Valley (it's not because it's where opponents come to die, unless you count the likes of Duke and Ga. Tech) but rather the Taters' zombie fan base. They were nice and quiet when The Gamecocks were beating them in Death Valley last season.
As a Virginia tech alumni, this is obviously my unbiased opinion, but it’s the greatest atmosphere in college football. Out of the 6 ncaa games that have registered on the Richter scale, 4 of them were at Virginia tech. The teams not the best at the moment but I can’t recommend going to a game enough.
As an Oklahoma state U alum. Virginia Tech is my favorite and I’d say the best entrance in college football. Would be so hyped up… The Eagle is cool though I agree.
I have had season tickets for Michigan State University for the last 30 years. When we had astro turf we had a Spartan in a chariot with two white horses. Since we are back to natural turf no horses 😢. But it's still great. Michigan State is the number one turf management school if it's a world class golf course it's most likely a MSU graduate taking care of the grass.
The Clemson experience is something else. I love it as a student. The hill the run down is only grass and is part of the student section, so we are always standing on the slope, but almost every time it’s completely packed.
I’ve Knoxville and Columbia (Tennessee and South Carolina) in person. Not at a game but outside of the stadium while games are being played. Beautiful atmosphere with both. #GoDawgs though.
A good thing to watch would be band pregame and halftime performances. I know you've watched some Ohio State marching band halftime shows, but the pregame shows are good too.
you guys are spot on about the colors. it’s a special thing in COLLEGE football because you have a cohort of 20-30k students who will completely buy-in to wearing the same color which creates that wall (much like hooligan groups in the eu)
I'm a Gamecock fan and a gamecock is a fighting rooster, or as we like to say, an ass kickin' chicken. The short video didn't come close to doing justice to the entrance to 2001. I've been going to games for most of my 54yrs and to be there when 2001 begins still gives me goosebumps. And the tailgating experience at the stadium before and after the game is unbelievable. when in the States, if you wanted to experience a college game, you can't go wrong with a game at Williams Brice Stadium.
2001 cool sandstorm absolute utter trash garbage, Clemson fan here but that song is straight poo poo, and it's not because y'all play us, it's just bad. Here's a good recommendation pyro by dread pitt Williams Bryce would go absolute bonkers with that song
Great reaction, Gents. You are correct. The Miami Hurricanes play in Hard Rock Stadium. The Dolphins and Hurricanes played in the Orange Bowl before they built Hard Rock Stadium. Only 4 other teams play in pro stadiums. Unfortunately, the University of Miami won't ever be able to build their own stadium in Coral Gables where the school is. Its a rich neighborhood and the people that live there would never allow it.
Lane Stadium (Virginia Tech) is built on limestone, so whenever enter sandman plays and everyone jumps it’s registers on the Richter scale (aka we cause earthquakes). Also that highlight video still doesn’t do it justice. It that clip they used to shut enter sandman off early. If you watch the VT entrance against North Carolina in 2021 all 65K sing along at the end when they turn the song off and it is DEAFENING and the most amazing thing to see.
I'm a Cane fan so I love that we started the trend of us running through the smoke. That being said, I look forward to Miami/Vtech. Whenever we play you all at Lane. The enter sandman entrance is the coolest.
My uncle used to work as an electrician for a performing arts theater in the state of South Carolina, and he said that a lot of the gay actors from up north would get a kick out of the South Carolina Gamecocks merch that said "Go Cocks!" and would buy it all up while they were down here.
November for college football is at the end of college football season. the conference/division championship games happen then bowl games start in December, at the end of December is the college football playoff which is also 2 bowl games and in early January is the college football national championship game
I'm a life long Red Sox fan and Fenway in Boston is like a sports cathedral but can be uncomfortable at times. Baltimore, however, is an awesome place to watch a game.
I remember when Alabama played Notre Dame in the playoffs and ND had to wait for the Crimson Tide to come out first. You could see the fear and wonderment in the eyes of ND. Their eyes were wide and foretold the outcome. A whipping laid on the leprechaun.
I want to a military high school and the whole school was required to come to the football games. I would say there was between 800-1000 people at our games and the rush from that many boggles my mind how much of a rush playing in front of this many people must be!!!
Yes. For most of the Dolphins' history they've shared a stadium with the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are the older team. First the Orange Bowl, then the Dolphins had Joe Robbie Stadium built where they played there for a few years without having to share. Eventually Dolphins, Hurricanes, and Marlins all shared the same stadium. Joe Robbie got a few names and renovations before it became Hard Rock. Marlins got their own stadium, Hurricanes and Dolphins still play in the same stadium.
10:40 You can ABSOLUTELY be there for the war chant! Florida State opens their season against Georgia Tech in Dublin this year in August! Get your tickets and join the Tribe!
Nothing on the planet tops college football. But when you come to the states for a game you can't do better than the South Eastern Confrence. Go to any home game of any team and you will have a blast.
College football stadiums literally vibrate with energy on Saturday. Especially a school from a major conference like the SEC. Gamecocks are sold out this Saturday.
The marching band comment has me thinking we need some Ohio State Marching band on the channel. Maybe have a watch of their Hollywood Blockbusters show?
Y’all thinking about going to a game come to LSU tailgating is the best in the nation along with the stadium and atmosphere team is looking very good as well
GO TIGERS!!!!! Clemson Tigers touch "Howard's Rock" at the top of the hill before running down to fireworks, balloons and 82,500 SCREAMING FANS.. It's called, "THE MOST EXCITING 25 SECONDS IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL" Howard's Rock was Given to Clemsons Legendary Hall of Fame Coach , Frank Howard by the head coach at Presbyterian College after they lost to Clemson for the 6th straight time. He picked the rock up while on vacation in Death Valley California. He gave it to Howard because he said Playing at Clemson was like going to Death Valley. The Rock sat as a Doorstop for years until Clemson renovated their Stadium. Howard called the Engineering Dept. and asked them to take the Rock and mount it at the top of the Hill. The Next Season before the First game, he took the team to the top of the hill and told them, " If your going to give me 110 % you can touch my Rock for Luck. If your NOT going to give 110% THEN KEEP YOUR FILTHY GOD DAMN HANDS OFF MY ROCK!" Clemson went on to win that day. They won the ACC and Played in the Orange Bowl.. and a Tradition was Born. That's the Hill, Howard's Rock and why Clemsons Stadium is called DEATH VALLEY... LSU years later copied the name for their Stadium. Rick Charleston SC
I really dont get the Clemson entrance hype. I mean great football school and all but they ride a bus to the top of the stadium and let gravity do the work as they run downhill. Oh wait they touch a rock. Now thr FSU entrance is great!
I just got tickets to a Michigan game in the big house on 11/4 if you want to come out to the big house Let me know!!! I’ll grab a ticket for you!! GOD BLESS YALL
Imagine how it must feel for the 19 year old Freshman player from the small town experiencing this for the first time as a player, i bet he thinks he is in the Twilight Zone or something
While not technically an "entrance song', Camp Randall Stadium (U of Wisconsin) is wild when they play "Jump Around". ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SoXHXLYTAgs.html
I am so ready for Sept.2. North Carolina Tar Hill takes the field. They went into lock down 8/1/2023. Football camp. They will be there for 2 weeks. # 28 Alijah Huzzie.
Daz / Aidan, check out the live mascots of some of these teams. LSU has a live tiger. Texas has a live longhorn cow. Colorado has an actual bison. Georgia has UGA the Bulldog, Yale has Handsome Dan, Texas A&M has Reveille the collie. Florida has a live Alligator. Many of these are brought onto the field on game day to great fanfare.
Baseball season will be over with, the World Series begin on October 27.2023 and if they need to play a 7th game it will be on November 4th.who ever win 4 out of 7 games win the World Series.
Clemson is a joke! They play in the weakest conference in college football and the minute their team falls behind that stadium goes quiet. Everyone knows that The University of South Carolina has both the legendary entrance and one of the loudest, wildest crowds in the entire country. And we don't find The Gamecocks name "unfortunate" at all.
