Weird data point on the Hilton Resort credit. I booked a 4-night stay on my Aspire ( I know!) last May at the resort in Galveston. I booked to pay at checkout , not prepaid, but they charged 100% of the room rate ($978.24) as a deposit! But then six days later they posted the $200 resort credit ! Needlessly to say I was satisfied. 🗼
I was actually planning to get the IHG premier card just to use the 5 free nights in Tokyo next year until some other RU-vid channel mentioned that you can’t top off. Wasn’t sure if this was true until I saw this video tbh. 😅
Wish they would have approved me. I have an 815 credit score and was denied. Guess it's their loss since I have $5k-$10k in monthly reimbursed expenses.
Ok. Thanks I can make my choices anyway I want but has the year expiration date. Also does. the I HG usually show if they charge fees before you book it
🗼Just finished the min. spend on the CIC, already have the VX but the bonus on the Venture is really enticing! Got Toronto, Montreal, and Cancun coming up, but as always destinations like Singapore always have that "replay value" to them. For cash rates, really liked the 30 Bencoolen when I went last year!
Using points for luxury rooms is kind of mind blowing to me. I guess some people value that more, but I think the “cent per point” obsession is a little out of control. 100k+ points per night is a mind blowing waste of points. You can take a much longer and more enjoyable trip by using those points at a decent property for more nights. A few months ago I spent 65k Marriott points on 5 nights at a residence inn 40 minutes outside Philadelphia, for an event I had. It was an amazing experience and a decent hotel with free hot breakfast every single day, and I had my own little kitchen to make meals in. Better than an air bnb, better than a luxury hotel which to me is just a waste. I guess if you’re doing a proposal like you said in the video, or like an anniversary that might make sense, but idk. These Hilton bonuses look pretty awesome, and that could go a really long way if you redeem them for more normal properties regardless of the cents per point. You’re buying more time that way, and to me that’s a better experience- spending more time in a cool place.
Really looking forward to your video on Seychelles. My wife and I have been everywhere else (Maldives, Bora Bora, Dubai, Niseko etc) and Seychelles is the only thing left hat interests us.
Have the VX, near 800 score, decent income and no other C1 cards since opening 2yrs ago. Got denied for too many new cards in 24 months (I’ve had 3). Called to ask how much is too much and got told the system denies and there’s no reconsideration line 🙃.
Sebby, can you please confirm if you can or can not top off the points if a property is greater than 60k a night. Another RU-vidr said you could but I don’t know if it was ttueb
I seem to remember that you HAVE TO get the 3 Hilton cards in a sequence, no? You have to get the Hilton Honors no AF card first, then Surpass, then Aspire, otherwise you don't get the SUB?
🗼 wow I didn’t know they devalued the Intercontinental Maldives. Stayed there a few years ago. At 120k a night with 4th night free. Another sweet spot for IHG is the Kimpton seafire at the Grand Caymans. Just got back and the beach is definitely S tier right behind the Maldives.
Can you do a video on traveling on airplanes how the baggage needs to be how to pack etc you or your wife or a collabi know you have about being on different types of flights hotels but none on how to back carry on what to pack how to get through tsa do's and dont:s
Major Microsoft problem affecting multiple industries in multiple countries (UK, US, China, Europe, Japan, Australia, India, etc) . The crash is affecting airlines, banks, VISA, MC, AE, stock market, grocery stores, Amazon, etc. The best way is to have CASH as backup. All the effort to go digital can lead to global shutdown which basically happened. Do not get rid of cash. You need a backup system
Debating on either getting the Hilton Surpass, before their deal ends at the end of the month or the IHG Premier. Any feedback and thoughts is appreciated. Also, I already own the Hyatt and Marriott Bonvoy card.
Hi. I was wondering on the IHG 5 nights. Can you split the the certificates individually? I am thinking of getting this one. I usually travel once per year
I got denied the welcome offer on the Hilton honors no annual fee card. I have both Gold and Platinum. Both have been paid off in full every month. Does Amex use 5/24 rule as well? Cause I do fall in that category.
🗼I did the pre authorization tool for the capital one venture and it didn’t come up as available. I opened the venture x in October 2023 and opened the savor one in April 2024. Do you think it’s worth trying to apply for it?
I already have the IHG premier, I was thinking about canceling the card and then reapplying in before the deadline but that seems like too much work for the 5 nights plus the affect on my CR. Does anyone know if the IHG Business ever has welcome bonuses? I think that card is separate and you can get a new Biz card w/ sign-up bonus even if you already have one of the IHG personal cards.
Hey Sebby, I was also planning to visit the Seychelles Waldorf Astoria, how did you find availability. Online it says the resort has been booked full for the next 365 days
I just got approved for the IHG premier. I have a 760 credit score. How long should I wait before applying for the Capital one venture card? I really want that increased sign up bonus as well.
Doesnt aspire also get a free night certificate on first year?(regardless of the 170k sign up bonus). If so, how many months does it take to receive it? After u open the card.
Hi Sebby, if I apply for a Chase credit card and I’m denied, does that count as a 5/24? Do denials from non-Chase cards apply towards 5/24? I’ve researched online and it’s hard to know for certain.
🗼 If I wanted to get one, which one would you say is better right now based on sign up bonus? Chase IHG Premier (5 night cert) or Chase Ink Preferred (120k pts)?
IHG if you have upcoming travel plans you want to use them on. Certificates expire after 12 months. Otherwise, CIP. If you’re at 4/24, CIP first then IHG.
Silly question - do any of the Hilton Amex cards prevent you from being eligible for AMEX Gold or Platinum SUB’s? I know you must get the Gold first and then Platinum to be able to get both SUB. Does the Hilton Amex cards interfere here?
And even if there was family language on these, you're talking about two different card families: Amex charge cards and Amex Hilton credit cards. There's been no occurrence of sign up restrictions spanning multiple card families
I tried applying for the no annual hilton card.. keep in mind I have the Surpass card already.. it gave me a notice saying I would not qualify for the intro offer on the zero annual fee hilton card..
Probably because your ISP is super laggy or you have too many applications open on your machine and there's an issue with the audio being cached but the video still buffering. It's basically the ever elusive eye-dee-ten-tee error.
