I thought I was doing a good job with a manual toothbrush but I got an electric one (Oral-b) a few weeks ago and OH MY. I can feel my teeth are so much cleaner
oral health in general isnt explained very well. my last dentist was the only one who recommended me good products to try out and ive been to quite a few
I have to say thank you for your content. I’ve always wanted to get braces but 2 years ago I was told I needed my wisdom teeth removed, plus an extraction, plus a root canal to proceed. I had severe anxiety about it and found your channel which helped me move forward. Now I’m finishing my Invisalign refinements and during my last cleaning my dentist told me to keep up whatever I’m doing because I have no build up. I floss after every meal, water pik, tongue scrape and electronic brush after each meal. I plan to keep up this routine post Invisalign. I’m finally happy with my smile and no longer fear the dentist. Thank you :) Ps I blame the movie little shop of horrors for my previous dental fear. 🤣🤣🤣
I am glad that you actually made a video about this. As I don’t think a lot of people realize how your gum health is important as well. Hi myself actually incorporate stimulating the gums into my brushing routine. I will typically put the brush in it more sensitive setting and gently glide the bristles along the gum line. Not only does it feel nice, but my gum is definitely feel nice and healthy afterward. Some of the more expensive brushes by Oral B, Actually have a gum massage mode. And I know that for some people with sensory issues, that would be extremely beneficial. Because it will give them the sensory input that they would want. In this case Oral sensory input. Which I do not think is talked about enough in my opinion.
recently bought a waterpik water flosser and it worked wonders. when i use it after eating i notice so many food particles washing away into the sink and after just a few uses my gums look quite healthy and pink. really recommend to anyone who struggles with gum issues and also to people with extremely crowded teeth that have a hard time pushing string floss in or fitting an interdental brush like i do.
well, i will tell you my own experience with gums(very bad blood running) while cleaning my teeth or when i wake up in the morning, so i had this problem for like 10 years and ive tried many toothpastes, i went to the dentist for cleaning the tartar from the teeth and nothing helped the blood to stop. I tried gum toothpaste and in 1 month the blood gone completely and now whenever i clean my teeth there is no blood. If anyone of you have this problem try gum toothpaste for like 1 month i hope i help atleast one person.
electric toothbrushes with pressure sensors are great with strengthening the teeth due to helping you know exactly how hard to press without pressing too hard! (i.e. being gentle but not too gentle). hope this helps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qiM0TRoNu-g.html
@@TeethTalk ok but due to gum recession my teeths are weaker now that's why I am a Lil bit scared I think I should consult with doctor before using it ...but thanks for your reply ❤️
Seems ya need 6-10 grams of xilitol a day to make a difference (spread out), which would be okay for me via mints, since I already have a mint after every meal, but where I am, I have to buy them online, and often they're imported and gotta pay shipping... I wish there were more options in Australia. Plus apparently you should be getting at least 1g per serving, which often means multiples at a time.
Thank you for this great video! I like to have a couple different sizes of proxa brushes and have been looking for several months for the GUM micro mini...the blue one the very smallest that I use on two of my back molars. I have tried others but feel the GUM brand is the best. Did they discontinue that particular size?
thank you for watching! and GREAT question! I used to use the light purple one and I haven't seen it being sold anywhere in a long time! I have the same question as you! I'll look into this.....!
I have hard time using string floss because I can't open my mouth big and dentist have hard time cleaning my teeth and getting xray. I almost chocked on a xray prob. It was bad when a new lady was learning to put in xray probs in me. I thought in dental school they are taught how to put xray probs in the mouth.
imo usually sonicare and oral-b -- here's a video of mine that goes over the pros and cons of each: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qiM0TRoNu-g.html
fillings are easy! they numb you up so you don't feel anything! here's my video that shows the procedure if you're interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lf3PLIKqhNg.html
I want to get a water flosser to improve my gum health and hopefully reduce my periodontal pocket depth. Looking at Burst and their Perio tip, but I’m wondering if you think it is gentle enough to get under the perio pockets without doing damage? I know the bigger brands countertop models go to lower PSI than the Burst. Thanks!
Anyone else noticed how dentist always have super white teeth like I know what they up to on there break times hey pal come do my teeth we got 15 minute break
Hey Teeth Talk Girl! I recently started paying attention to my oral care after I noticed signs of receding gum. I went for a clean and the Doctor told me that my gums were swelling. So I got the clean and I was bleeding a lot. The doctor told me to comeback in 2 weeks to let the gum recover (I was told to use savacol) and do a second clean to remove the tartar below the gum line. I got the second round of cleaning and the Doctor said that my gums are now healthy. But I'm still worried about my gum recession. I use manual brush and I did brush gently. I also brushed in single strokes instead of circular motion so I would brush upwards for the bottom teeth and downwards for the top teeth. Recently, I went back to the 45 degree circular brushing method but I'm still afraid that touching the gums can make the recession worse? I'm not sure if the recession was caused by the brushing or could there be other cause? Should I invest in an electric brush? My current routine is flosspick > brush > rinse with salt water. Thanks in advance for the response. Love your videos!
the number one cause of recession is from clenching/grinding teeth. if you think you are -- be sure to talk to your dentist about considering a night guard! the other two causes are poor oral hygiene and aggressive toothbrushing. electric brushes with pressure sensors are always a great idea for those with recession! again -- talk with your dentist about your individual recommendations but here is a video of mine that should give you more insight: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jAsNJcb4iag.html thank you for watching!
Hi Whitney, just had my 6 month check up and 6 monthly hygienist appointments this morning, past with flying colours😁. It's all thanks to your videos and advice and follow a brush, floss, waterpik routine all thanks to you. Hope your well😊 🦷
as long as your not blasting it at the highest level -- generally it should be fine! my best advice is to ask your hygienist at your next appt to confirm your gums are looking good :)
❤ I love all your videos, but some of the links aren't there. Could you please fix it? Thank you so much for all you do to keep us healthy and smiling. 😊 😁 you're the best.xoxo
❤ follow-up question: how do I properly clean my water flosser tips when I'm sick? I have a terrible cold and I want to make sure a keep my water flosser tips healthy and pretty.xoxo
This was a great video! Simplified with all the right information! I've found the gurunanda water flosser and electric toothbrush combo. Do you recommend the brand?
I have tmj, and got a bitrave from Amazon. It’s so bulky and aggravated my jaw so much, it dislocated. ): I adore the clean feeling it leaves me. And I noticed my gums aren’t as sensitive anymore. But I’m not sure what to do with how stiff my jaw gets
I really like the Listerine stick flosser. It works really well and the floss lasts for at least two uses as I sterilize with listerine after first use.
Anyone recommend a good portable waterpik? Waterpik does seem to make one, but looks like people aren’t happy with the charging feature/battery capacity. ?
Please is their a way to talk to you I went to the dentist and I was told they have to remove for of my front teeth they are chipped and I have tartar on the. I saw other videos that looks like mine and they've gotten fillings and look really nice all the dentist told me was well we need to extract the front 4 teeth I disagree I rather save my front teeth
not unless your dental provider said you would benefit from one. it's such an individual situation with mouthwashes. my best advice is never use it just to use it. make sure you have a reason. here's a couple videos of mine to help decide which category you might fit in: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5aV1EeM9m-A.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dKETLfiLmhY.html hope these help!
Hello, Whitney! I notice that you did not mention rubber tips/gum stimulators. I started using one diligently a couple of years ago, and the health of my gums has greatly improved (according to my hygienist). Do you ever recommend this low-tech tool to your patients? If not, why? I'd love to know your opinion. Thank you for all your videos!
Also, if you do believe that gum stimulators could be helpful, perhaps you could do a video one of these days on proper technique. I think I'm using this tool correctly, given the positive results I've had up to now, but I'd certainly appreciate a demo from you. Kind regards from Canada, where it's currently -10 °C (14 °F).
yessss! I think they can be a great addition! however, sometimes it's really hard for me to convince daily brushing AND flossing ...so I never want to add on too many recommendations and overwhelm (especially in generalized format like on here). but, I have recommended stimulators to some of my one-on-one patients and they have helped them! but I always make sure proper brushing & cleaning between the teeth is happening first :) I'll def consider making a video about them :) thank you! hope this helps! and STAY WARM! it was -12 F here in Chicago a few days ago!!!
@@TeethTalkThank you so much for your reply! You have reassured me that all the time I spend using this instrument-about 10 minutes a day, almost without fail-is indeed worth it. (And yes, I do brush and floss as well; in fact, my brushing technique has improved, I believe, after watching some of your videos.) Re the temperature in Chicago-for some reason, I assumed you lived in California! Maybe because you have such a sunny personality . . . :) Thanks again.
