@@alexisappecorina7107 yes there is, search "how to center knife blade" here on youtube. There are plenty of videos that can help you out. Note that some knives will not center due to poor/incorrect tolerances.

Benchmade has brought the Bugout model into their Custom Knife Builder service. You can choose glass-filled nylon and G10 in multible colors and blade in M4, cpm s30v, cpm 20cv. very cool.

I ordered a fake Bugout on Wish. Not expecting much but if I lose it.. no big deal. I do own an authentic Benchmade 350 which I’ve had for 21 years and it’s held up great.

@@ArizonaLifestyles1 Just received my fake Bugout and I’m impressed. Was a little stiff at first but opens and closes so smoothly. The axis lock works great too.

@@pray4mojo35old post, but i have a few of these fakeouts, and they are surprisingly decent, but the plastic grips are HORRID, flexy trash. Im in process of seeing if aftermarket scales fit

Are the scales flexible when you squeeze them? or are they solid? How much did you pick it up for?

@@ArizonaLifestyles1 full price at smkw..they do a tad but its not a big deal it feels better than i imagined..i held off for quite a while but glad i got one..just dont use it as a sledge hammer..lol

@@jlogue751 thanks for watching the video . I have another Bugout video where I take it apart... the clone is the same as the real one from what I hear most people watch the video so they can put on new scales ... have a good one

@@ArizonaLifestyles1the real bugout grivory scales do flex, but not NEARLY as much as the clones. Thats the real weak spot of this knife. The blade steel generally measures about d2 quality

@@jamesstephenson2346 yup you hit it on the nose - the fake one has way too much flex because I think they are just cheap plastic / nylon - I bet the real one has some fiber in it that makes it more sturdy - the special edition fakes are better - the carbon fiber one is the best of the fakes - thanks for watching

Decent I bought 3 more all different colors ... the more you stray away from the stock colors the more they look fake :)

My original one is still kicking around I switch back between it , and my new clone a Bugout with a black blade and green scales ... kind of cool but truly a fake ... I’d like them to make a clone of the carbon fiber one

I always like the Microtech clones if you want an automatic ... also take a look at the bench made bailout ...The bailout looks a little larger in a tanto blade

@@ryan93civic1 There's lots of different BM clones. Folders & fixed blades. I'm going to order a couple once I make up my mind on which ones to buy. They've got custom scales, clips and hardware, too. Kydex sheets and eyelet kits.

I've had 940,535 and 550-1 clones. If you've never handled a real BM before you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Not one bit. But, if you've handled or sharpened BMs or real S30V/20CV/S90V steel. You will immediately know. They just don't have the same smoothness in the pivot no matter what you do to them. I've sanded and polished the liners/washers etc. Makes them better but not as good. When you go to sharpen them you can tell immediately the steel is softer. But hey, for the price they're a great beater knife. I love the 535 and 940 for edc and work. I bought the aluminum handled Fake for using at work while I carry my original lighter blue handled one in shorts or on weekends.

Thanks! I bought 4 of these clones and everyone in my household has one ... they are easy and I don’t think twice about these knives ... peace of mind that I can use and abuse these knives and I am only out $15 bucks and 30-45 days delivery time is very appealing. But now I want a real one ... because these knives are so good

@@ArizonaLifestyles1 Yeah totally worth it for the price. The real one with S30V does stay sharper longer and the axis lock springs have less tension in them so it feels easier to operate but for all intents and purposes they're nearly identical.

I cant imagine keeping the "real" bugout for weekends. They are cheap new for the real. I own the real one and fake ones. The real blade steel is much better, but i dont find your feelings on the axis lock true. The bm axis lock sucks ass too. I think these fakes are a very good option as a cheap knife, but the real bugout isnt impressive in the scheme of things either. Best buy currently (2023) is the hogue deka in magnacut for 113 dollars.

These are a decent go to clone , scales are more flexible , and the price has gone down to around 12-14 a piece … buy a few and don’t worry about losing any of them

@@ReapersEDC nope - plastic is cheap and the blade steel isn’t right - but it was cheap and cuts every time … good trial knife if you like the size shape etc …. Thanks for watching

These are not clones, they are outright counterfeits. You are probably getting 8Cr if you are lucky, could have been just 440. It has a plain plastic handle not the glass reinforced nylon either Benchmade or Spyderco uses. I don't consider it's safe to use.

@@MixDJNick I haven’t had an issue with daily use :) and I am not really batoning any firewood with them anytime soon… I haven’t taken it out once and had it explode in shrapnel when I cut open a box :)

Most knife brand companies.use these manufacturers, anyways. Whether it's just parts or the full product. So they're fully equipped & skilled to create a less experience version of a 'classy' high end designer knife.

Easiest way to tell is hold the opposite side of the blade and press the two sides together if it gives pretty easily it’s a fake if it’s pretty sturdy it’s real
