A 5'6" female is actually a height within 2 standard deviations from the actual average 5'4". Most women are between 5'2 and 5'7 (66%)

To bad most bikes are way heavy. And to bad I can’t buy a new Hodaka dirt bike at 180#.

Yes, but that Hodaka doesn't have the same suspension, stability and durability compared to a modern bike.

Thanks for adding! Weight definitely plays a role, but height/inseam length and experience level are the biggest factors, in my opinion.

I am fairly short rider (5'3") and have rode sport bikes for a few years. I'm looking to try out dirt bikes now but I'm worried about quickly outgrowing and no longer enjoying the small 125cc bikes that I will fit best on. Is there any hope for me to one day be able to comfortably ride a larger bike like a 250-300cc?

Absolutely! Thanks for sharing that, Casey! First, don't worry about quickly outgrowing a bike - it's not only more enjoyable, but safer to start on a smaller bike because you'll have more confidence when starting out because you can easily touch the ground and it won't get out of control easily. I keep hearing from my students that struggle at first on bikes that are too tall and powerful, wishing they would've started smaller - you can always upgrade later, whether it's 1 year or 10 years down the road :) Do you need help choosing the right bike, Casey?

@@MotocrossHideout I'm looking between a Kawasaki KLX140 and a Honda CRF125 or 150 at the moment! Do you have any opinions on those two bikes?

Those are all good bikes, it really depends on your budget and preferences. If you don't need fuel injection, the KLX140 is a slightly better bike overall than the CRF125F. The Honda has 2 different sizes and the Kawasaki has 3 sizes to choose from. @@MotocrossHideout your reviews were super helpful! I have one more question! When I am looking around to buy a used bike (4 stroke) what’s the oldest year you would consider still a good bike? Is an older bike, like a 2005-2010 still a good purchase or should I stick to newer bikes like a 2018+? Thanks!

@@caseygauwain8084 Glad you found them helpful! The older models are generally just as good for these beginner trail bikes. It mainly depends on how well it's been maintained. For example, if you can find a cheaper 2008 bike that's clean with low hours, it will be just as good as a 2018. Thank you very much for the video. I'm 5.5 tall, which is on average 1.65 meters, but I have a lot of experience with motorcycles, as I ride every day, and I'm wanting to take a chance on a crf 450rx 2025. Do you think that if I lower the seat with the Seat Concepts model that I would reduce it by 25 millimeters and also use a thicker insole to help, and also a slightly smaller tire pressure. Do you think it is possible at my height with these changes, without having to lower the suspension or even use a link? Thanks

Yes, I'm about the same height and can ride 450's if I shift my butt over the seat when I come to a stop. So is this your first dirt bike? What kind of riding will you be doing?
