hello. this content is great . I m wondering do you know anything about AJP motocyles? I have one 2020 model AJP SPR 250 and I have really overheating problem with that. Plus last thing about the cluch control is also happenning. When I tun it on 1st gear it wants to move forward even cluch is all grabed. I dont have any oil leakings but so fast heating. Plus very frequently ı needed to add cooling liquid to te reserve container. ı guess it boiling and going from the evacuation hose... what do you thin? what would you suggest me to do? or check? thank you very much for you time and attention in advance....

Hey Omer, thanks for watching. I know a little bit about AJP but I haven't personally owned one before. How long does it take to overheat and what kind of riding are you doing with it? If you're riding very slowly (walking speed) and slipping the clutch a lot to prevent stalling, this would get the clutch and engine hot very quickly. Your clutch either needs to be adjusted, the oil replaced (causing the plates to stick), or the plates are warped from getting too hot and need replacing. Hard to say which ones, but start with easiest first. Here's how to properly adjust the clutch cable: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xGXXff7-2VY.html

Sup I hope you see this. I got a yz 85 05 and I'm moveing on to my first ever 4t dirt bike what would be the proper way to maintain it like on how many hours should I inspect cams, valves and all that good stuff. I know that I need to change oil and oil filter and its recommended to change piston and piston rings every 100-120 hours but what else is there to it to keep the bike fresh and well maintained?

Dirtbike's aren't typical geared for taking off from stop signs, causes people to learn how to change the gearing and chain so they aren't shifting gears mid turn. (if your street riding anyway) I'd also mention as soon as you get about 40mph on a dirt tire, you're going to notice your wheels probably aren't balanced well and the nobs are going to vibrate the bike a bit more than you'd be use to. which brings up another point, dirt bikes practically need to bath in thread lock. :p

@MotocrossHideout
@MotocrossHideout 5 часов назад
Yes, but it also depends on crank HP vs RWHP. I just settled on 45 because that's close enough to most 250 2-strokes and 450 4-strokes... It's not the exact number that matters here, ha.
@benr7002
@benr7002 3 часа назад
My 08 was 56 too. I was running 12 53 sprockets. Not much for a top speed but I kept the rear tire manufacturers in business. The guy that bought it came back with a big smile on his face and immediately said SOLD! It is intoxicating when that front tire always wants to come up. I sold it to get a 300 2 stroke and ironically the slower bike is way faster in single track and it doesn't beat the snot out of me all day long.

Would you still recommend staying away from a beginner mx track for a rider who has street bike experience?
@MotocrossHideout
@MotocrossHideout 21 час назад
Yes, if you've never ridden a dirt bike before. If you spend a day of getting comfortable with the controls, accelerating, braking, shifting, etc, then I might recommend trying a track that's very smooth and easy (small tabletop jumps - no doubles). With that said, every rider is different in their comfort and confidence. The more intentional you are with learning the proper techniques, the quicker you'll be able to advance your skills and speed, if that makes sense :)

does running a carburetor thats too small for the engine cause it to lean bog? my engine cannot go beyond a certain rpm and just bogs down but if i reach that rpm in 4th gear and shift down to 3rd which caused my engine rpm to get higher the power kick in then into 4th
@MotocrossHideout
@MotocrossHideout День назад
How much smaller? A smaller carb usually just chokes down the potential peak horsepower. You should still be able to tune it to start and run properly without bogging.

@MotocrossHideout
@MotocrossHideout День назад
CRF250R? Yeah it's a pain, but I've gotten fairly quick at it now. -Take seat off (I usually tank the tank off as well) -Remove muffler -Remove subframe (make sure carb clamp is loose first) -Remove rear shock (2 bolts - bike needs to be on a square stand) -Now you have easy access to the carb For getting the carb back on, I put the carb into the engine side manifold first, then remove the air filter and stick my hand through the airboot and push it onto the carb bell so that it's fully seated.

Bought a brand new DR650 to move up from my XT250 power wise. First time riding at night, noticed a cherry red exhaust pipe. Took it to the dealership bc it was still under warranty. They adjusted the carburetor, said it was running way too lean from the factory. Now I don't trust it. Miss my XT250.
@MotocrossHideout
@MotocrossHideout День назад
The head pipe was glowing red while riding, or was it sitting there idling? It's common for carbs to be too lean from the factory, which causes that, especially if the bike is just idling because it needs air flowing past the engine to keep it cool. If it's still doing that while riding after they supposedly adjusted it, I'd talk to your dealer again.

Was riding single track with my 2019 klx250, went down pretty good and picked up the bike to find an odd smell and over heating engine light on. Drove it up the hill so I could pull off to a good spot, and when I shut the bike off, gurgling sounds coming from the coolant reservoir and up in front the bike. Then the overflow tube for the coolant reservoir just starting spraying out for a bit, and eventually stopped. The gurgling sound continued up front for a bit, so I decided to jump on and get closer to a main road, eventually the engine overheating light went away after riding for a few minutes. Got home, coolant reservoir is completely empty. Any ideas, suggestions, tips, to make sure all is good, or if I am supposed to refill reservoir with more coolant now that it shows nothing in it?
@MotocrossHideout
@MotocrossHideout День назад
Is there a fan on the radiator? If not, that's fairly common for a liquid cooled bike like that at slow speeds, especially if you're slipping the clutch a lot. Once it's completely cooled down, I'd make sure that the radiator is still full. If it's full, then I wouldn't worry about it. The overflow reservoir is just there to catch that coolant that spits out the radiator when it gets too hot.

I was riding my bike and next thing Ik gas start coming out of my carburetor gas line and there was another leak coming from this black gas line in the back of the dirt bike by the battery I replaced both lines and now it won’t start back up
@MotocrossHideout
@MotocrossHideout День назад
The gas line from the fuel tank? If so, that needs to be replaced before riding again. If it's one of the carburetor overflow lines, that usually happens because the bike was tipped over or the float needle is stuck. You can try blowing a few quick shots of compressed air in the overflow line to see if that fixes the leak.

If you think throttle tamer tubes are a mistake you're nuts 😅 there's nothing better for tight technical trails especially for a less experienced rider. Have you even tried a throttle tamer??
@MotocrossHideout
@MotocrossHideout День назад
Hey Kyle, thanks for your comment. I said that they can help, but it doesn't get to the real problem if the throttle is hard to manage, which is often made worse by having "too much bike" for the type of riding and/or skill level. To be honest, I don't think I've had the actual product on our bikes over the years, but I've ridden plenty of bikes with a throttle setup that requires you to turn it further to reach WOT, which has a similar effect, and I really don't like it. I prefer the 1:1 feedback of a standard throttle.
