Steel Impressions Entertainment they just do it to be smartasses or maybe they truely dont understand the vids and hate them 😂 in other words.... douche bags😁
I have these, absolutely I love them. I have completley replaced my speaker stands with these, they look fantastic, presentation is great. If you pair these with some of the Rockville battery powered Par lights it makes for a nice clean setup. I use them as speaker stands, stands for moving head lights etc. The adjustable height is a definite winning feature, and these totems take a lot of use and abuse and still look great 💯
Just bought a pair of these a few weeks ago. Love them because as a single op DJ, it made sense for me to get these instead of glo totems or trussing. Easy to transport, setup, and tear down. Highly recommend them for those looking to add some flair to your setup.
Great Review Rick I think the only DJs who gave you thumbs down are those who bought expensive totems before you put this Video and are now FIRED UP ! THANKS RICK.
Totems are essential for any DJ who wants the high end wedding look, personally I have both collapsible and truss ones and for the past 6 months I’ve only used the truss ones as I find them so much easier to setup and pack down. If space was an issue collapsible would probably be my first choice. 😎🎧👍🏻
I got some of these a few weeks ago and they are one of the best things I've invested in. So easy to use and as you use them more they are so quick to get up and running!
Great review and tutorial, Rick. I have a gig coming up where I'm thinking about using at least one of my two RTP32Ws for the first time, to save some floor space over what my ADJ lighted tripod stands take. (The lighted stands are a nice effect, and keep people--maybe even me--from tripping over the legs.) I was kinda amazed to watch you horse that ~60 lb. JBL up that high, *and* get it onto the pole adapter. I only have a pair of QSC CP12s, around 36 lbs. each. (But I'm closer to Eric Clapton's age than I am to yours.) Timothy Smith's mention of what he used for counterweights was helpful, too. I don't want to be yahdin' (Maine term) sandbags around. 😎
Now... The Qsc K12s sit Flush with these. As Rick said my EKX 15S fit on top with no problem at 58lbs a piece with no wobble. These things are AMAZING...if you don't have them go get them.. I don't even use my regular speaker stands that often any more.
@@weatherdogentertainment2306 there is maybe a half inch to a inch gap...but no wobble... These things are sturdy. I actually just called Rockville yesterday to see if they could do a custom build for me for a 7ft totem but they told me if I could wait there was no need to as they are releasing a 8ft expandable model within the next month to 2 months..hope this helps
how did they give u a package and how much was it? everytime i try to call IDJ now for anything they dont help me out and give me a normal online price... is there someone special to talk to?
@@abo7uson You normally have to be a return customer and be buying much more than $500 at a time before they will give you a deal. That goes for just about every dealer. If you save up and buy say a few grand worth of gear they will knock a little off.
The way you suggested is exactly how I was able to mount 65" tv's on them. I'm slightly nervous having tvs on there, but I put 3, ten lb weight plates on the bottom and they don't move.
I have these as well and have learned that the pockets they put on the bags will cause you to lose pieces in transport. My quick fix was to get pencil bags that zip up to hold the cross bars, knobs, and speaker/fixture adapter. Also one of them for each of the scrims so they stay clean and cant be torn in transport. Hope this helps 😁
djhyjinxxx have you try to put speaker or big heavy moving head like vizy beam of ADJ. if so let me know if is stable also what size of speaker did you put on it . Thanks
@@micki108 I would not recommend a speaker on these. The adapter is very cheap, only a couple tack welds hold the makeshift nut in place on the inside.
Im tired of the thumbs downers! If you dont have a DJ channel and dont spend countless hours filming, planning and editing DJ vlogs, then dont bloody well give others a thumbs down. I bet they watch every single video but just refuse to support the channel. Grow Up People!
i got these and used them in a gig.. they can be a pain to put together because the threading on the bolts dont fit exactly (i guess its a quality control issue) , but overall its good
I have 4 of them, and you are absolutely correct they are the shit! I have 2 for speakers or movers and the other 2 have TV mounts for them that are designed for them with square beam brackets and a wider base for the extra front weight. Well worth it, a pair bundle cost as much as a single traditional totem.
Another great vid Brother. Thanks for posting Rick. What I dig most about these is the adjusting height. Even though I have tons of room in my Dodge Promaster cargo van, it has the standard roof which has a height of 5,8" on the inside. Therefore I start having to stack my high end trussing sideways with a bunch of gear which defeats why I bought the big ass van anyway. With these adjusting, I could build them, keep them built, and they'd fit. Anyway, another great vid and thanks for posting. Cheers, DJ GUNZ
saw these at iDJNow in queens. They look very promising, plus the height adjustment is great. I'd suggest buying some portable tent sandbags to add an additional 20lb counterweight for TVs.
nice product. cool to see you "test" or find cool DJ things. more like that…. sometimes we just find a nice and useful product online, and it´s cool to put them to a test. I bought a set of LD SYSTEMS DAVE 8 XS speakers( 2. hand). They are cheep but very god value for your money. and I was very surprised buy the performance. it was a friend of mine that had a set, and then i wanted one for my self. now i have them in my living room as my main speakers. I would NEVER have bought such a cheep "PA" system just by looking on them online. they seem to cheep in terms of what you actually get for your money.
As a full time welder who also has been pursuing djing and live music, I look at these with a fabricators insight and honestly wouldn't be that hard to build. And when I seen those welds I just about burst into laughter. However this review is great man appreciate you and your videos bro after buying the Bose F1 loudspeaker I was curious how much these could handle weight wise.
I just Novopro XXL only because they went up a little higher they look like they’re designed the same way hope I made the right decision Rockford was the first ones I looked at.
They look good. I would just be scared of the screws messing up overtime with the in & out (assembly) per gig. Also, do they make a bigger base plates?
I love these and I'm thinking about getting 2. Rockville was really nice enough to include white & black scrims and bags to transport all the hardware. I hate when companies make you buy everything separate. Mutha-F'ers. Thanx for the video Rick
What type of mounting bracket would you use to hang the Chauvet Wash Hex fixtures? Having trouble finding the proper bolt or bracket for this application. Please help . Thank Rick. ✌️
Hi #Rick, love your content, always helpful and insightful. Can I ask do DJs in the US usually have public liability insurance ? I would not trust putting anything on top, especially a heavy speaker even if drilled to the top plate, too many drunk guests flying around just asking for trouble, a sandbag gets accidentally moved, you're gone at a fashion show or corporate event they would work well. 👍🏻 Thumbs up for the video.
Hey, quick question 🧐 Did you ever figure out a way to get your speakers to sit on these stands without them rocking to hell and back 🤔 I'm thinking I might have to cut the pole mount down to size🤏
Good review. A question for anyone using one (or more) for moving-head lights: Do you need to use the foam pad(s) to keep the light from "walking" off the platform? I've got a ColorKey Mover Miniwash QUAD 4 that I'm pretty sure will fit okay, and it seems pretty stable where I've been trying it out (sitting on a cardboard box), but I didn't know if it would slide on the smooth metal plate.
Thanks for the quick reply, @@DJRickWeb. I was concerned about the Quad 4 getting too warm for the foam. (I haven't used it at a gig yet; I've just run it at home a few times. The fan seems to keep it from getting very warm.) I think I can rig a safety cable to it, so it won't go too far if it does slide.
Hey Rick, so i have noticed multiple different versions of Rockville's totems the original RTP32Ws and the RTP82Bs i gues the 32 and 82" difference?? obviously the colapse to s mid to shorter style, but how tall are they compared with movers if i might ask?
Hey man great video. I heard you say they are steel, but i think I read they are aluminum. Only reason i mention is because i want to hang two 50 inch tvs on my two and as you said, drilling through the existing holes may work for a mount plate. I would love to see that in a video. The event im doing is 5 months away. I think it would look better on the totems than tripods i was going to get
You know that with you trailer you could just send the trust to the smallest height and see if it will fit , so you could transport them to gig much quicker
Hey, just a question , what is the price difference between the Rockville totem pair and the global truss with the plate and scrims included ? Like overall estimate cost , I’m thinking about adding this to my beginner rig but debating which one is more worth it. Thank you 🙏🏻
Seth Garrett I believe there is an option for black truss with both black and white scrim. You could buy a couple and swap out the base ) Rockville Rtp32b Totem Moving Head Light Stands. www.ebay.com/itm/2-Rockville-RTP32B-Totem-Moving-Head-Light-Stands-Black-White-Scrims-Carry-Bags/303146817868?epid=19027776021&hash=item4694f5594c:g:2uYAAOSwxDJcNBTB
Yeah holding up one side and lining up the holes, brackets, twist bolts sucks. It's like, I'll do one totem and get lucky and take 4mins and the other will take 10 minutes..... it's like hit or miss. Practice makes perfect though.
i just have them set up once and put them in the car... they arent that big when its at the smallest height... also invest in a Rock N Roller makes it much easier to transport it fully assembled
These are cool but i find it expensive to pay 400$ for a pair of simple light stands, i guess if the price was reasonable like 150 for both i would get them, but 400 a pair? I'd rather spend that kind of money on some lights
Yep drill holes in the frame then attach a standard tv mount using bolts and washers. Will need couter weight via sand bags though. And would probably only do like max 50 inch tvs for the 5.75' tall model. The bigger stronger 7.5' model can handle bigger
I'll wait until I see more reviews on them. I rarely purchase anything as soon as it comes out. Eventually, people find issues with new products and either the issues get sorted or people stop using it.
Not much of anything that can go wrong with a completely mechanical device like this. The spring pins would be the weak link which is unlikely to stop working any time soon,
