Best driver ever for SLOW swing speeds 

I have just replaced my Callaway Epic Max LS (mis-fitted at A-Golf) with this Titleist TS1 Driver and can now hit off the Tee with confidence. It was your video which pointed the way so once again thank you it has changed my game. I'm a 69 year old senior with a slow swing speed.

Good review. I'm 81 and play 2 to 3 times per week. I got fitted for about 6-weeks ago at Perfect Swing in NJ for a Driver... and the prescription called for the TS1 Driver at 9.5* with the 40g shaft - R stiffness ... and it is absolutely GREAT! I never would have pick out this Driver if I had gone out and tried to just buy and "off-the-rack" Driver... but after being put through the whole Fitting process the Pro had enough data on his computer to make the decision pretty easy. Can't believe how "light" the whole Club is, and how much improvement I'm getting in distance and Fairways hit! My Index is down to 17.4 and improving. Getting to more Greens in Regulation than was possible with my prior Driver.... a 28 year old Cleveland Launcher - 9.5*

very enjoyable! no idea what club head speed is now as i am peeking into my seventh generation, but everyone slows down and not quite ready for senior tees. my most modern titleist drivers are the 917's (2 and 3)....

I took a TS1 head and paired it with a hazardous smoke black stiff shaft and increased my swing speed about 3 mph. Forgiveness is great and I’m hitting it farther than I ever have. So it pays to try different combinations of shaft and head to find what works best for you.

XXIO is exclusively oriented to slow speed swingers. They make great stuff for this population of slow and ageing golfers

That is me. 67 and swing at 85-90 mph. I will try the TS Drivers soon. I am using a 12 degree head Cleveland Launcher HB at present. I possibly could have been better off with a 10.5 , as the shot height is up there with the 12 degree and I don't get a lot of roll ( excess spin maybe)

I use a 13.5 degree driver (12+1.5) with a Fujikura Evolution III 569 medium/high launch shaft and it works wonderfully with my 82 mph speed - my shaft is 56g so a little heavier than yours.

Great job of bringing out options for us slower swing players, any thought on irons for that same range of swing speed ???

I love my TS1, as stated it launches higher and I get into less trouble due to the roll from my draw. I’m averaging 220 yards, up from 200, and it was 10 yards longer than the other drivers I was fitted for. This driver should keep me on the white tees for a few more years!

Depends on their delivery, not just swing speed.

I was looking at the new SIM 2 driver to replace my WilsonStaff LP driver. I have a slow to average-ish swing speed. Which driver do you think would be best for me, the TS1 or SIM 2, thanks.

Take a look at Integra Sooolong 175 Ultra Light (175 gram head) w/ 40g shaft built 47"s at a fraction of the cost of a TS1. This is nothing new and many senior golfers are playing ultra light heads with ultra light shafts. It takes some trial and error but is workable for many golfers. Majority of heads are manufactured in the same Chinese foundries. BTW the main reason for lighter heads and shaft is heft match but longer playing length will produce more swing speed as long as you can hit more center impact for best smash factor.

Mr A Taylor as ive found out with planning my shots on course . A player looses yards uphill so your hitting this either at a screen or on the range BUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN SAY UPHILL ON YOUR MONITOR. interesting . Its like putting you all on videos show us what how they break but the course I am a member at only has Mackenzie greens so when pin is on top level your on 2nd level do i Aim left to go right to pin left to left or straight ?? I had a put on 3rd level it went straight then right then even further right. PAUL

I would like to see the XXIO 12, Titleist TS1, and the Cleveland Launcher XL Lite go head to head. All these videos seem to promote one particular brand.

I’m not sure about the concept. Cobra has a complete line of clubs called f max which I tried. Not the driver but irons and hybrids. It’s seems that the slightest up speed ruins the shot. You really need to maintain your head speed always. That’s hard to do on the course with all the changing elements . Loss of feel seems to be the issue. I’ve actually gone to something a little heavier. More feel better consistency

Worth pointing out that a driver with a lightweight head, shaft & grip is not new - just new to Titleist. Some of the press around would have us think this is groundbreaking when it isn’t. Been done by Wilson 4-5 years ago with the D200 Superlight driver. Probably been done by other companies too

I still rock the sldr s 16° 460cc driver. The greatest club for slow swinging forgiveness.

Very interesting, I'm 58 years old and use to be a scratch golfer, playing in college. But now my shoulders are shot from my profession as an arborist. I can't generate the club speed I would like to. Just because it hurts. I still hit the ball very straight with a slight draw. What would be the best driver for me and what shaft, regular, senior or ? Thank you in advance.

Would this be better than say a Taylormade m2 for slow swing speed high handicap with tendency to slice? I am closer to 70 mph?

I play a Tour Edge Exotics XJ1 which Is based on the same premise. In late 2016 the XJ1 came out, it has the same shaft as the Titleist you are testing and it sole weighted for higher trajectory. At age 73, my swing speed is about 90 mph with a driver and I can hit the XJ1 from 230 to 250 yards.

Is the driver ts1 good for ladies slow swing

Now I really see how my 70 to 75 speed looks like I'm sleeping when swinging.

Thanks for your video but it would’ve been a lot more beneficial and informative if you compared the TS1 and your driver or another heavier head and shaft all at the same swing speed to see if the TS1 actually has better numbers. No offense but this was just half of what this video should have been.

I am a older golfer at age 71.My swing speed drop between( 70 and 80) m/h and my distance a average 185 yards and my ball fly is low.I can easily shape the ball from fade to draw.My question with the TS1 can i easily obtain 210 yards in average ?

HOW FAR DO GOLFERS REALLY HIT . HI I HAVE ON MY GARMIN G30 A SETTINGS FOR LONG DRIVE . I have used this and am suprised. I am using a 2ND HAND £60 TAYLOR MADE AJUSTABLE DRIVER .Sunday was a very warm but windy day , and being the age 64 wearing glasses I found the following . Downhill 240 yds drive uphill 190 yds drive wind across 200yds drive 3w 220 yds downhill uphill 180 yds wind across 190 yds . so played it like this KNOW YOUR BAD SHOT mine is a fade because I can play to it. then by playing the holes numorous times I know what to hit .take our dogleg left par 5 white 550 so its 7w 7w 8 iron off yellows its 463 so its 4 iron 4 iron 52% 2 putts or less . I thought drives 250 3w 220 and 7w 200 yds I did not think it differed uphill. paul

Isn’t the idea of a light driver to increase the swing speed of a golfer who needs to find some more velocity? You can’t really do that if you are purposely slowing down.
