Thank you, bought 3 kits for a few ladies. Easy to install and being plastic they will not melt, dry up, or be sticky. Victor is also a good tire tool company with a long history in tire repair. Thanks again.

Sometimes installing plugs can be extremely difficult with reaming it out to the right size and jamming it in, these really are easy.. it seems to work easily first try so I honestly do like it. I’m not trying to fight too hard on the side of the road and I didn’t even lose enough air to need to fill it back up. With string plug kits you are gonna lose ALOT of air reaming it out first.

@@NaptownTuner the ream plugs the hole and the little bit you loose will clear out a good portion of the rubber bits. Not to mention that preparation is the key to success. I've hardly met anyone that can add air to their tires on the side of the road. Most people trust their spare that the never look at or check.

I'd still prefer a normal plug kit. They have worked forever and are cheap so I don't see why it should change. It's still best to get a proper repair done when possible.

This thing is a temporary fix to get you driving. I'm pretty sure the box says it's a temporary fix to get you out of having to change a tire for a donut or call a tow.

@Deathbomb9 a plug can be a permanent fix if done properly and it doesn't take more than a couple minutes. So why bother with this temporary fix?
@Deathbomb9
@Deathbomb9 Год назад
@@chrisjones6002 I could see it being a temporary fix for people that don't know how to put in a plug, don't want to mess with them, or possibly don't have faith that they could do the process. It does take a considerable effort to properly ream the hole at first, and the hissing of the air also might be too scary when someone is already worried. It could be a fix to get you to the nearest tire shop where they can pay, but if you bought the tires at one of the major chains, they will typically do a plug free of charge. Those places do tires more than anything else, and honestly I'd only trust them to do tires. A tire tech works at a tire shop. A mechanical tech works at a mechanics shop. I've also had Big O tires try to tell me my coolant was bad as well as a few other things that they "recommended" when all my fluids are perfectly fine. Also, the coolant was actually in great condition. They also refused to rotate my tires due to the DOT date, but I didn't have to sing anything to leave their parking lot so clearly they weren't so bad that they needed changed out. If the shop wants to mention something, they should be able to show you and have it compared to new. And they should pull a sample with you standing there. I worked in the industry and know how some of these places operate. Big O is on par with the quick lube places where you don't even have to get out. As for these things, they are being recommended to you by a guy that said you should put valve lapping compound on your ball joint shafts if you can't get the nut on after knocking them out with an air hammer using the punch attachment on the top of the shaft.

Just use proper plugs, way better.

Does it vulcanize into the rubber? Like those other repair sets? Ah, it's a temp repair solution. I guess you still have to put a vulcanizing plug in there then to permanently fix it?
@NaptownTuner
@NaptownTuner Год назад
Doesn’t say it’s temporary, I believe it’s a permanent solution like a string plug would be.

@@NaptownTuner it's a temporary fix, bud. Read the box thoroughly. I'm willing to bet there is a recommendation to get it plugged permanently and properly at the first chance you have or within a certain amount of miles. And since there's seemingly no way to remove this by the customer, it's likely that you'll have to go to a tire shop rather than being able to just do it yourself in the driveway.

Ugh. I would never use that. Guaranteed to leak at some point, and then good luck getting it back out.
