You should make a series on best used scooters to look for. I got my pegasus for 450 based off your review and recently got a mantis king gt for 1100 w/ 200 miles. With some good buyers tips and fair price ranges, it may be a helpful resource for riders on a budget.

I have basically an E-Move Cruiser S clone, but with 1000W single motor and the smallest battery option, 48V 10Ah. Im happy with it, costed me less than 200$ 2nd hand, got already over 8k km on it and recently i upgraded from a notebook power supply (330W) to a 600W 24V power supply to charge those 480Wh via a DC DC boost converter. I give the old 480Wh battery around 250-300W (circa 5A) when "fast charging", still quiet fast and a new, DIY LiPo battery with also 480Wh about 480-520W (10A) and literally charge it to 90% within 50 minutes from 0% (BMS cutoff) or close to it. I was driving 2 days ago as it was warm and nice outside over 150 km (within like 18 hours), one battery charged at home while the other one was used for driving, on top of 200Wh externally mounted in form of 2 tool batteries (while the other set tool batteries charged at home). If i would want to, i could drive 24/7 as long i can charge and swap to the spare batteries when i am going low on the driving ones. My next scooter will have for sure a oversized battery, if it means i have to recharge only twice a week, i will even love it since im annoyed by charging 2-3x a day already.

I have an Apollo Pro, and the only detail I would add to this is, UL listing/certification. For example, if you live in New York, e-scooters, e-bikes, etc, MUST be UL listed, or they are illegal... and that law is likely to be implemented almost everywhere eventually(soon). That said, without going and researching all of these scooters, I can say that the Apollo Go, and Apollo City, are fully UL Certified. If you don't want your shiny new toy to suddenly become illegal to use, buy ONLY UL certified units.✌🏼🇨🇦

First and foremost thank you for the enlightenment of possible choices out there, I wish you had made this a year sooner. Which brings me to my question, I purchased a nan robot D6 Plus 2.0 the European version tops out at 45 miles per hour although I've gotten it roughly to 83 on the straightaway with no steering damper no wobbles nothing. Very sturdy very solid ride. Which set my question up how come this one was not amongst the selection it meets all of your criteria specs wise? Again thank you for your time in this segment.

In the video you imply that tubeless tires are more premium than tubed. I see your point in that they are less prone to flats. But I feel that inevitably a flat tire would still occur at some point. And changing a tubeless tire is very difficult. I’d rather bring it to a local shop and have them do it for about $60. Do you think I should avoid a tubed tire scooter? Like the wolf warrior X? I think I’d be able to install a new inner tube by myself with the split rims. In your experience, how often do you get a flat tire with tubed vs tubeless?

I've yet to purchase a scooter because I haven't found a single company (whose scooters I like) that shows that they have parts on hand to sell me. I'm kinda new. My brothers bought a few smaller scooters. Let me ride a GoTrax for awhile. Only went about 17. Don't think it even had a speedometer but we gauged it by me pulling ahead of him on one that said he was going 15mph. Now I got money up and was looking just for something to keep up with local traffic on the streets and to go up hill to my GFs house. I priced and compared a ton of them. I found one called the Zsnake and it hit the sweet spot at I believe$1299? I bought it on Amazon lol. But dude the thing came... The frame is solid. It is friggin huge and clunky. Performance wise tho ... I believe I got some bang for my buck. At first I was afraid I was gonna break it. First ride was fast. 2nd time wouldn't go as fast. But then I figured out how to change from eco to dual mode. Omg guys... I was doing 50mph down the main street in town. Holding my position in traffic.the speed limit is 30 but everyone drives like A holes up here. I gotta do over 40 just to match traffic. Having that little extra speed when you want it is handy tho. I've ridden it all week in dual mode (no eco) and only today has the battery alert popped up. Kinda hard to tell exactly how low it is or how far to go before I plug her back in. Anyone interested I'd recommended checking it out. I've heard people try and trash talk this company who I am not affiliated with in any way. That they are just an American company that buys Chinese parts and yadda yadda. This thing is super heavy. Takes up space. Uses 2 chargers. But when I squeal them 11 inch off road tubeless tires and take off... Boy it's enjoyable. I don't dare give it a high rating until I've had it longer. But I truly believe if I take good care of it... That it will treat me well. And for now... It really is a ton of fun. Bit of a head turner. You definitely get noticed on the thing. With it's bright orange paint scheme and lights all the way around it. Two headlights, a brake light, and turn signals. You definitely get noticed. Especially at night, people gawk like they are seeing an alien go past... but even at day time with no lights on. Had an older gentleman compliment me inside a store. Guess he noticed my helmet matched the orange and black color scheme and figured I must be the guy? Hahaha Good times tho.

The main benefit for something like the Mantis King GT or the Mantis V2 is that they've got spare parts out the wazoo and are more than likely going to last the test of time. I had a fair number of issues with my V2, as I have stated, but I am convinced I've got a lemon unit because EVERYTHING else on the scooter has had zero issues across the board. It's a tank. The King GT is a tested design that's had 3-4 revisions and is one of those models you get when you want something reliable and has a solid database of known problems, parts to fix and user experience to back it up. If you're looking for a $2000 scooter and the Mantis King GT is on sale, I'd say get that if the Klima isn't available. Just my three cents. I'd LOVE to see you try the Mantis V2 and give it a solid chance since your original mantis just fell apart. I want to know your thoughts on it over time too, if only because I feel it'd be more of a 'redemption arc' in a way for that specific model. :)

Hey, so i’ve been looking to get a scooter for a while but am torn on what to get because i’m 6’1, 250. My price range is up to 1200 and live in a slightly hilly area. What would you suggest i look at? I’m not inexperienced with scooters in terms of riding them.
@firevswater4
@firevswater4 4 месяца назад
i honestly think anything on this list will do you well. Cheaper scooters will struggle on the uphills being a heavier rider. Definitely get a dual motor too from the list for easier hill climbing.

The YUME Hawk is 1,390 and does 43 mph and has a 43 mile range dual adjustable suspension 1200 watt dual motor 2400 total watts with a peak of 3000 and something...yume is a hugely overlooked brand and they have great scooters at great prices..the yume hawk also has 11 or 10 inch tubeless tires...and the tires are hybrid on off road..and it also has your favorite thumb throttle...check out yume and you'll def change this list

@@Mattdoc210 Simply not true, it's one of the most cloned scooter models anywhere for a reason. Price to performance ratio is unmatched and it's very robust, replacement parts are very cheap and easy to source. The 600 miles of hard riding I've put on mine would have already broken most smaller scooters.

What do you think about the Nami Stellar, a younger brother to Klima (Michael Sha said that will be on market in 2024)? Should i wait for this as a more urban choice or buy the Klima? I would love to hear your thoughts on the Stellar

If you can afford the Klima I don't think you'll regret not waiting. You'll be glad you have the dual motors

Thank you! I really appreciate your content and your excitement about electric scooters played an important role to make me take the decision to use an e scooter (probably the Klima) for commuting. Unfortunately we don't have the infrastracture (bike lanes) in Greece to feel safe but maybe in the future it will change.
@berengerchristy6256
@berengerchristy6256 4 месяца назад
@@gregalaI’d wait on the smaller version simply for weight. If you’re using it for commuting weight is huge unless you’re just going to wheel it everywhere instead of carrying it. I’ve also heard that Namis rust easily, so if you want to commute in the rain I’d get an Apollo for that IP66 water resistance rating

Love the video, can anyone recommend a retailer in the USA with a e-scooter that does atleast 40mph so I can ride on the road? My car is dead and I can't afford repairs due to my Hiboy breaking my arm and not working since it happened on June 1st. The main catch though is I need to be able to pay with Affirm as my emergency fund is gone and I'm still out of work, living on ramen atm. The best scooter as possible for $2-3k at most. My Hiboy can't keep up with traffic and I really regret solid tires.

honestly yall sleeping on the amazon scooters. i got a skycore rs3 about a week ago and it is way better than majority of these scooters for a way cheaper price($1300). it looks nice accelerates super quick most times when i leave a stop light i dont see any cars until im about to be at the next one unless the road is really long. its advertised at 40mph but sometimes on full charge and when theres not much wind it’ll hit 45. it says it can go 45 miles on a charge im sure it can if you go on the lowest speed. but full speed it can do i’d say around 15-18 maybe 20 miles is more accurate depending on how much you’re breaking to regenerate. overall really solid scooter got many compliments on it but i am probably gonna return it and spend a few more hundred for a 50mph one i saw with a bigger battery more range because i use it to go to work which is about 13 miles away and would like to keep up with traffic better and be able to go more places after work instead of just home to charge. ill do a review on video before i return it then ill review the next one as well

If you’re going that fast regularly get yourself some motorcycle gear. You don’t want to fall and have the road scrape all the skin off your back or off your palms or grind your elbow to dust before friction brings you to a stop

My scooter price range is around 300-600$ 200-300 being the lowest with very low range but okay speed of 15 mph and slightly higher at 18-20 mph with 20 mile range but my most will be 600-650 with a 22-25 mph and a range of 20-25 maybe there are ones with 30 miles ramge but the speed i will pay for is 25 with 25-30 mi with 600-650$ price tag as i’m too broke for even 700$ let alone 1,000$ and over.
