LOVE how you showed my neighborhood and our cultures. We need to keep it like that. This neighborhood is in danger of being gentrified! If you come to our neighborhood please respect and support the culture and small businesses.
Love that my friend tortas spot was on here, he's the one with the soccer team sandwiches. People Please support this business he's a truly great guy. One day I went to him broke and he feed me. Thanks
@@2099mj We lived different lives, because he feed me when I was broke. And he literally gave me money. mined you I'm not family and a was a street kid. And i felt like he gave money. Honestly like he loved me. Plus his food is good ask for a Chivas, lol.
I’m from LA and been living in Long Island for more than 2 years!! Haven’t been able to find authentic Mexican food near by like in Los Angeles and of course I have some knowledge of authenticity because of my Mexican heritage lol hehehe. Can’t wait to go visit all this places!!! This video maked me so HAPPY!! haven’t eaten tacos like from King Taco! (
I was in Astoria visiting my daughter and I roamed around the neighborhood because I love Greek food. I couldn’t find a Mexican spot but I will be back in September. That book will help me find good places to eat
I would like the book. I am a true foodie and love your channel. I am visiting NYC in two weeks and all I’ve been watching all your food videos. This alone would be a true gift for my first time visiting New York. I would be my true food bible of NYC. Thank you, Kendra
One of the things you guys should try that it’s a Must , It’s Corn with cheese and Mayo , there’s is a nice lady on the corner of 82nd street she sells them they are called “Lotes” in Spanish but yea She’s always there you should deff try that ❗️❗️ you guys will Thank me Later 🤤🤤
Great video. I've been in Queens last year and I had a hard time finding a good Mexican restaurant. I live in Dallas TX so I'm pretty knowledgeable about Mexican food. But don't worry even in Dallas it's hard to find a good place, especially tacos de tripa, my favorite. Anyway, I would like to get your book for 2 reasons, 1) I'm going to NYC in November 2)My son and I are planning to move to NYC. We are selling everything we have here. Cheers
Take a train down to Philly. We have great authentic Mexican food. Most Mexicans here are recent immigrants from Puebla or CDMX or Veracruz. We also have the best barbacoa restaurant in the USA according to many eater polls.
@@HereBeBarr She used to have a stand alone place called south Philly barbacoa but sadly closed down. Now they moved to the Italian market on 9th st but open only on weekends. If you go, order in Spanish and get the set, medio kilo para dos. And, it comes with handmade tortillas, a ton of salsa fixings, guacamole, spicy pickles, and 2 bowls of the amazing lamb consomme. Muy sabroso! They have pancita too, though not my favorite.
The lady along in this tour with Pitbull and you Barr is I think the singer called H.E.R. Excellent !!! At 3:59 did the guy say "We Love Lamp" ?? I didn't know that Pit Bull's and Brick Tamland's son was on this video !!! BEYOND EXCELLENT !!!!! Pitbull, H.E.R., and Barr in the same video. My head is going to explode !!!!!!!!!
The Chorizo and Pernil tacos looked Crazy good. I would love the book, because I’ll be coming over from Denmark to New York (my 5th visit) next year and I’ll be focusing my time in Brooklyn and especially Queens this time ‘round. I’ll be doing an entire youtube video series on my foodie adventures there - I already have a name: Around the world in Brooklyn and Queens. I can’t wait 😊👍🏻
I want the book because what better way to discover Queens than through its people and culture. The best way to understand and appreciate and discover a NYC neighborhood. Eating my way through the book yum 😋
My mom is from Jackson Heights. Haven't been there since visiting my grandparents in the 1970's. Can't wait to visit again and try some of that wonderful food!
THATS awesome! We are planning our trip to NYC from SC for the first time!!! We where worried it would be hard to find places like this thank you so much! Im so excited this video is amazing!!
you need to try some Colombian food...first start off at mama empanadas ..then go to pollo mario at 81st street and Roosevelt. and order the la bandeja de mario.
I almost tasting your suggestions! Thanks god I am coming NYC in 3 weeks! I will for sure go and try all that I can! As I am from Latinoamerica I chose to live in Queens while I‘m will be NYC, so your book would be a great start to feel at home there.
That's is how in Mexico Northern states add tons of thick guac without any extra charge cause is not a exotic food like in the states,in Mexico is just so normal, typical and part of our cuisine,is basically free on the tacos spots and so cheap in the markets and grows everywhere.
Minute 7:25 if you look to the right side, you'll see a Mexican food truck. It's called Tia Julia's (correct me if I'm wrong) they sell some really good tortas y rajas.
Moved to Florida about a year ago and there’s no place here that has Mexican tacos like NYC has 😭 You’re making me homesick. Jackson heights is about 10 minutes away from my old home 😥 Great video! Making a girl drool.
Great Vlog! You are doing a great service for these small stand alone restaurants/bodegas with your videos. Next time I’m in NYC I will definitely have pizza in Greenwich and Mexican in Jackson Heights! If you send me the book I will work my way through it for sure. Keep up the good work!
I guess I'm used to street tacos here in NorCal - those tacos seem a bit big. No al pastor? No Elotes? Mangonadas? I do agree with those who say the best place for tacos is in LA or San Diego near the border. I'm not familiar with Oaxaca food (the trucks and restaurants in my area are mostly Michoacan and Sinaloa) so that last stop was cool.
Hey there Thanks for making great videos I would love that gift to give to our kind of new Rector, here at Trinity Church in Asbury Park. Two years ago. he left his home in Jackson Heights, NYC to become our Rector here. Since it is only about 90 minutes from here to Jackson Heights, or most of Queens, I am sure he would love this book for day trips with his spouse, who is from Mexico. We give him days off for good behavior! And just think, if I won this book for him, we, his parishioners would have to give him 111 days off - Wow! That's lots of good behavior, eh? Had to sneak in a bit of Canadian "eh" in my long rant here. Again Thanks for your great videos, you are just so normal!
I finally tried the Tortas Pumas and let me tell you for a fat guy like myself I couldn’t even finish one half of the sandwich that’s really sad but overall this video made me realize this little gem I missed by everyday. Look forward to eating another sandwich.
i want to leave Detroit and head to Jackson Heights RIGHT NOW. This is amazing. You are amazing! And well, if I'd win the book I'd use it to help me guide my friends from back here in Michigan, to New York City. Can't wait.
I love your channel🥰, I am going to NYC this summer and those videos are really helpful , you can learn a lot from them and definitely save some money thanks to your tips
I like very much your videos & information share by you is fantastic. I highly appreciate your efforts to show New York City. Iam form Mumbai , iNDIA our city is similar to New York.
Daamn Man those tacos look like the real thing !! Great video member of the barrio! Other thing man don't use the words chorizo and huge in the same sentence 😂😂
Here Be Barr I just came across your RU-vid channel & love it!! I’m in Los Ángeles & we have a lot of Oaxacan restaurants out here, the original horchata in Oaxaca has walnuts & tiny pieces of melon & yes some places do put either coconut or pitaya ice cream #Yummy
Holaaaaa! 😢😢😢 Saludines. 😉😉😉
I would love the book, because i may relocate to nyc and i am possibly taking a vacation this year to see how i like it.im puerto rican, i have a friend im going to see who is from el salvador and it would be nice to even show him my knowledge of ny ,and this would make me look super cool and he i might be able to show him a thing or 2 of nyc.lol😂🤣
I need that book so I have a good reason to stay in Queens next time I’m in NYC because apparently my favorite people are moving away from Greenwich Village 😭
Theres always something new we discover in NYC, never been to Jackson Heights, I'll have to check the neighborhood out, thank God I had dinner before watching this vlog lol
Actually.. Little Manila is "technically" in Jackson Heights so I think you may have.. haha but not sure.. it's Woodside/jackson heights border so you were close ! Thanks for watching my friend.
I have family in corona but we have never been to any of these places and I’m salivating I know a few places for tacos in Jackson heights, corona and neighboring areas but these look killer and I would buy the book. Original a Cali boy I’ve been eating tacos for over 50 years.
My reason for wanting the book is that I haven’t been to NYC since I was a young boy over 25 years ago. It would be great to know the best spots to hit when I bring my wife and son back to my brother’s old stomping grounds.
I would love the book because me and my family of 5 will be coming to stay in Elmhurst via AirBnB from August 7 through the 12th 2019 and it’s our first trip to NYC!
Great video. My wife and I will be visiting NY for her birthday in September. I’m a steak , bbq , pizza , bacon and whiskey guy. She prefers pastas , blue crab , shrimp and strawberry margaritas. Where are the best places that could accommodate us. Thanks
hello i want that book because i born in NEW YORK n only vicit one time this past october 2019 n i love it,ps. i grew up in puerto rico,n living now in MASS,thanks.
