thanks to you, i tried HylaWipes and love them. yes, the cloth is large, but after wiping my eyes i always use it on my entire face. it's very calming and hydrating -- no irritation whatsoever. i've really noticed a difference in my eyes -- especially when outside: no more tearing because my eyes are too dry. i use them twice a day.

Dr Eye guy, tea tree oil is harmful to your meibomian glands, why do you recommend it? Doesn't it stay on your eyelids and eyes after wiping with a wipe containing it?
@DrEyeGuy

@Annelie_perhonen5 that was an in vitro study. Also I usually rinse my eyelids if I use anything with tea tree oil in it.

I recently went to a VA Eye Doctor as I was having issues with my eyes. I was told that I had dry eyes and that I was not getting the needed oils. She prescribed Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium Eye Drops to use 4 times a day. In addition she recommended I use baby shampoo to clean my eye lashes and and a heat mask. Trouble is she didn't tell me how to use either of the additional items, while the drops came with instruction. I tried the heat mask once, but worried that I was cooking my eye balls plus I did it laying down. For the baby shampoo I put it on a damp cotton makeup remover pad and simply wiped my eye lids while closed. I don't know if this method works, but I'm doing it daily. So, this is what brought me to your channel. I'm impressed with your knowledge and presentation skills!

I really like the Blephodex and HylaWipes because they can be used on the go. The Systane is good and more economical but because it needs rinsing, it’s not as convenient. One thing with the HylaWipes the cloth is really big, so it feels to me a bit wasteful. I’d like it if they had smaller cloths and more packages per box.

It is ok to wipe your eyelids.... but if you mean to wipe your actually eyeball, your cornea... then no, you don't want to wipe that. Occasional eye rubbing is ok. Deep rubbing and a lot of pressure, and doing it frequently is when people might get worried about affecting the cornea.
