Did you know that the island province got it's name from sweethearts, Marin and Duque, whose relationship was not sanctioned by their parents. The sweethearts fled to the sea and a storm overturned their boat and so they drown. On the spot where they died, an island rose from the sea. In their memory, the island was named Marinduque.

Kulas, you haven't tried "saludsod" .. It is a kakanin or merienda.. It is like a pancake made from oraro flour with very young buko meat and sugar .. Very delicious .. You can buy this in Gasan palengke in the early hours of the morning only. You can also try maja, pilipit .. Delicious kakanin too.
My grandparents’ home was at the foot of Mt. Malindig, overlooking the sea. It was quite picturesque! How I long to see it again... But since the passing of our grandparents, no one lives there anymore 😢😢😢

Honestly, you can tour around marinduque in just one day. You can basically visit the 6 towns of marinduque in just one day. But techinically you cannot see the other beautiful spots unless you personally visit those. But on the road you're about to see some of it😍 hope you enjoyed your stay in our province.

Some of those butterflies look the some of the giant moths we have here in Canada. Anything deep fried and crispy is very good even if it is not good for you.

Amazing discovery at d butterfly farm. I've zero knowledge Marinduque is source of butterfly seedlings (4 lack of better term) to d outside world...wonderful to know. Marinduque must be very proud. Kyle, d butterfly on ur palm is huge w/pretty colors. And then d vid ended w/ u guys feasting on crispy pata...excellent source of cholesterol...hahaha...
Hi Kulas, you should try the crispy pata from Norzagaray, Bulacan. They were the best for me. Whenever possible I always asked my friend to buy me some whenever he goes home for vacation. 😍
The coconut and crab meat is wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in coconut milk or gata with local spices of course.. That is the ulang ulang or ginatan kagang only in Marinduque .. Enjoy
