Still got my basic pelican kayak. Some days I don't feel like loading the crate, the mirage drive, the seat, etc. You just wanna grab the light pelican kayak toss it over your shoulder and hit the water. I've been in the pelican in some windy lake waters and it has performed great!
Have faith every thing love you happy to see you this is perfect way to get exercise smile perfect for when grandchildren come fishing has kept many people out of trouble
I have one. Used it in rivers and big open lakes with water skiers and wave runners and it does well. It is not a fast boat. It is sturdy for what it is. Decent but could be better.
Just bought this one today. $299 at Academy, and got $15 off and got a new Credit Card-too! For the price, I don't think I could go wrong...! Lots of Features built into it, and only 45 pounds (about 100 pounds lighter than my Titan, and $2,400 less, too!) Haha! Got it to just throw in the back of the truck, and use it in ponds and shallow creeks. One thing I'm already thinking about doing, is changing the seat. (I'm in my mid 70's, and my back isn't what it used to be...!) Haha!
Mid 70s? Your doing damn good my man, I know guys who are crippled up in there 50s who can't be caught trying to climb into a kayak and paddling. Enjoy the golden years I hope I make it there too.
Awesome review. This looks like a great budget friendly first kayak. The price point is great. It might be even cheap enough for my wife to give the green light for my second 😁
Good review Aliex...I'm starting to like the Pelican, mainly because of the price point. Especially the new one, the Catch 130 with the mirage style system. I'm curious to see what the final product will look like...I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper than a Hobie PA series.
Hey Alex, you're honest opinion, which fishing kayak would be best for me? My budget is under $500 ,but I need good capacity for my trolling motor and battery +gear? Let me know thanks!!
Im definitely getting this for my girlfriend.(ill be taking it out when shes at work) like you said no excuse boat. my kayak is 75 lbs which isnt crazy heavy. but sometimes im too lazy to cartop it. I could easily throw this bad boy in the back of my stationwagon and hit the water for an hour or longer . would also be a killer buddy boat. academy has them for 300$ right now
I had a loaner sit inside kayak. I finally bought my own. I got the pelican icon premium xp. It does not feel as stable and dosent track straight. Im disappointed for sure and wish i woulda bought a sit inside now
The icon is only 30 in wide that will make it very unstable, you need at least 12ft by 34 and a cat style hull to be stable, pelican catch 120 for example is stable enough to stand up and fish
Watch the stability test here and I recommend you watch all my stability test so you see the differences between kayaks ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m7cxEHer8OU.html
holy guacamole! thats a very affordable kayak for a 10 footer. i'm thinking this would be great for when I don't want to lug the ss127 around or even for a friend to borrow.
In that price range you're better off buying used, especially if you look during the off season. Older wilderness systems tarpons can be found for just a bit more or a perception pescador
@@AliexFolgueira weirdly enough I stumbled across your video the other day and watched it before I ever saw your comment! Left a like. Ended up buying a pelican castaway (extremely similar kayak) because I couldn’t find a sentinel close to my area. Your video helped me make up my mind
They definitely do. Here in Canada we get prices jacked up (even after USD to CAD it is more expensive here, plus we don't get the great deals US box stores can give) and we get less features on certain boats. I still like their products but damn.
@@marcusbabcock458 It's here. Possibly not available everywhere. I'm in Ottawa. www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/pelican-sentinel-100x-angler-kayak-0791276p.html#srp
Pelican International where can this be purchased in Dallas, Texas? Also, I’m hoping there is a 10 foot version in the works with the pedal drive easier for a woman to lug around by herself. 🤞🏻
