Welcome another episode of Matt and Woolie drool over sick 2D pixel art games in early access with character action and/or shmup and/or fighting game tech in it, optionally with a rad name. Edit: Bonus points if it's a Metroidvania.
There's something about this game that just weirds me out. Lack of keyframes? Too much tweening? I can't tell, but the characters, effects, shots, enemies -- all feel really cheap, and awkwardly so. It's like the game shot for a really high quality of art, but the animation department couldn't keep up with it.
@@Cravenslayer You know, that's what I said to myself at first. But then I noticed it says: "Demo", as in "demonstration". Not "alpha version", or "prototype" or "pilot version". It may be a minor difference, and you may be right. Time will tell.
This game looks great! It thematically seems to pull homages from FLCL and offers them up though mega man mechanics. The music is even reminiscent of the pillows. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this development.
who the fuck can get hype for a game where the creator is deliberately refusing to include one of the coolest underused characters as a selectable character? im talking about motherfucking waluigi of course.
waluigi is AN ASSIST TROPHY. This means he will NEVER BE A FIGHTER. Same goes for Isaac from Golden Sun unfortunately. As long as they are assists, they cant be fighters. Also, im pretty sure all of the dlc characters will be guests, wich outs wa as well. Face it, Waluigi will forever be a bitter assist trophy.
It was probably in later Mega Man X games too, but the Zero and ZX games had bullet erase as a skill you can get where your sword strikes eat bullets. The shield in the Zero games could also reflect or bsorb bullets, and in ZX PX mode had the ability to hook onto ceilings and hanging hooks too.
Looks like it might have to redo its campaign somewhere else. It's not even close to its goal, and there are only 7 days left. I'm wondering if they sent the demo out to gaming websites and publications considering the fact that I only found out about this game by looking through my Twitter feed.
Someone already probably said but just in case anyones curious the megaman zero series does have a reflecft weapon. The boomerang shield thing reflects bullets back at enemies
My online username (except RU-vid) has been GigaBuster.exe for like 11 years, please tell me there is a PC version and you have to launch gigabuster.exe to start the game
About the weapon energy being almost always full: The best thing about MM 11 is how actually useful the boss weapons are. I constantly use the ground sparks, falling boulders and bouncy balls. The room clear wind attack is also really good. And they're way better at destryoing mid-bosses, too.
to think that this was the last promotion video that they did before they disbanded.... its cool yet sad. lets hope that gigabuster succeeds on its next kickstarter though
Cool hack-and-slash: Ok, that's cool Great artstyle/aesthetic: also good Super dumb names everywhere: Yes very good *You got a fuckin' bat for reflects:* Hooooooooo this is good *THE SHOPKEEP IS A BUFF CHICK:* SOLD MORE VIDEO GAMES NEED BUFF CHICKS, *ESPECIALLY AS SHOPKEEPS*
The game looks great and it's a good tribute to MegaMan X franchise in some extent; mixing moves of X and Zero in this character is awesome. It could be good they managed to gather all the money needed. They don't have too much time left, thought D:
wtf do you mean what genre do we think it is? it's obviously most like rockman so that would make it an action platformer. if anything it reminds me of zx.
Did you just say "Apology for Gunvolt", Woolie? Gunvolt is good though, and it had a sequel where you actually copy boss weapon/abilities as a different character.
@@AstralMuffin105 Is it because of Gunvolt needing to use energy field to deal damage, even though you can unlock a gun later that doesn't tag, it just deals damage like regular Megaman?
So here was I thinking "Boy this looks like Kill La Kill" But then I quickly realized that I was wrong and that this In fact Looks Like every anime Imaishi's directed. Except for Panty & Stocking, Sex & Violence, and Space Patrol Luluco. So this looks like Tengen Toppa and Kill La Kill. Which means I was only half wrong.
Same, friend. I really wish Woolie and Pat wouldn't bring up how much they dislike Gunvolt every time there is a Mega Man-like game on the channel. Like, it's ok that they don't like it, but I wish they wouldn't keep reminding us of that.
